Avi Networks offers services for delivery of applications (application delivery) to such large customers as Deutsche Bank, Cisco and Adobe. The company calls the technology the mnoogoblachny structure allowing to distribute loadings between DPCs and public cloud services. To the middle of June, 2019 Avi Networks attracted in total $115 million investments.

2019: VMware purchased Avi Networks

In the middle of June, 2019 VMware announced Avi Networks acquisition. Thanks to this transaction which cost the companies decided not to disclose the buyer will be able to bring closer corporate data centers to public clouds.

It is going execute all formalities concerning sale of Avi Networks of VMware company till August 2, 2019. The transaction should not affect operational results of VMware in 2020 financial year, the press release says.

VMware purchased software developer to bring closer corporate DPCs to public clouds

VMware calculates that due to this absorption it will be possible to inform in the automated and scalable type corporate DPCs of flexible opportunities of public clouds which can use as required. As a result of consolidation of technologies, allegedly, the companies will be able to offer a complex stack of software-defined networks, the first in the market.

This acquisition will contribute to the further development of our vision of a virtual cloud network where the software-defined architecture of a distributed network covers all infrastructure and connects together all parts thanks to automation and programmability in public clouds —  Tom Gillis, the senior vice president and the head of department according to network solutions and security of VMware noted.

According to him, technologies of balancing of loading will find application in the platform for virtualization and security of VMware NSX Data Center network and also in the independent controller of delivery of applications.[1]
