Based in London more than a century ago, the Chloride corporation is a group of the international companies specializing in delivering solutions and the services providing a regular supply with the electric power for continuous work of business of the companies in all industries of the market. Today in the world market Chloride is one of global manufacturers of sources of uninterrupted power supply (UPS) of the increased reliability of average and big power, including specially designed industrial systems. More than 100 years Chloride products successfully work at the enterprises imposing increased requirements to reliability and quality of power supply and also level of the organization of service support.

The foundation of business of Chloride was laid in 1891. Now the company locates the state more than 2500 people and delivers the products to 190 countries of the world.

The head office Chloride is in London (Great Britain). The main production capacities on three-phase UPSes are concentrated in Bologna (Italy). Here researches and development of solutions in the field of uninterrupted power supply for such significant scopes as data processing centers, telecommunications, health care are performed. Production of the industrial systems for application in nuclear power, the oil and gas industry, the transport sector and metallurgy is concentrated on the plant in Lyon (France). Development and production of the software and the equipment for monitoring of the UPS is in Chicago (USA).

2011 Russia

In 2011 73% of turnover of Chloride Rus made sales of the UPS, 22% are the services connected with installation and service of the UPS the rest it was necessary on deliveries of the accompanying components in big projects among which the noticeable place was taken by deliveries of diesel generator sets (1% of a total turnover of 2011). On sales of the UPS in 2011 47% made sales of devices with a power more than 200 kV • And, 21% are sales of the UPS with a power of 60 — 200 kV • And, 16% are sales of the UPS with a power of 10 — 40 kV • And, 4% are sales of industrial UPSes for objects atomic, oil and gas, etc., the rest — sales of less powerful UPSes, component parts and spare parts to the UPS.

Among partners of firm system integrators (61%) prevail, 22% make installers of electric equipment, 14% — final customers with whom the company works directly in view of specifics of their requirements to supplies of equipment, and 3% — resellers.

Growth of business of Chloride Rus in 2011 was 34% and was higher expected that is explained by connection of the company to the project of creation of DPC of Sberbank of Russia for which deliveries promoted exceeding of initially planned annual figures.

The most important project of 2011 is called participation in creation of no break power supply system of the mentioned DPC Southern port of Sberbank of the Russian Federation in which the total power of the UPS is 44.4 mV·A. It also referred three deliveries of the UPS of flagman model of Chloride Trinergy company with a power from 1000 kV to achievements of last year • And up to 2000 kV • And — two for Sberbank of the Russian Federation (in Moscow and Novosibirsk) and to one VimpelCom (in Moscow).

2010 Russia

Sales of no break power supply systems of the Chloride brand grew in a year in Russia by 16%. In an ended working season of 57% of revenue of Chloride Rus created deliveries of uninterruptible power supply units. The lion share of sales (75%) fell on the UPS with power from 10 to 160 kV • And; 12% of income provided deliveries of systems with a power more than 160 kV • A. K the last belong also flagship products of the company from the Trinergy family — modular scalable UPSes of high power with three dynamic operation modes. Another 26% of revenues of Chloride Rus were provided by the service direction. Sales of services bring to the company more and more income. It is explained first of all by increase in the installed base of the equipment Chloride which requires the qualified maintenance on a permanent basis. At once after the expiration of guaranty period (i.e. in a year after acquisition) the producer suggests clients to sign the service contract of sources. The cost of service contracts is from 3 to 8% of the price of the UPS depending on volumes and the list of the executed services.

History

September, 2010 - The Emerson Corporation announced completion of a company takeover of Chloride Group PLC. As expected, this transaction will allow to accelerate development of Emerson in the long term in the field of the uninterruptible power supply units (UPSU) and complete solutions for data processing centers. The cost of the transaction was $1.5 billion, says Emerson. As noted, Chloride technologies in the field of ensuring uninterrupted power, extensive network of representations in the European countries and also the highly specialized solutions allowing to provide equipment power supply in the most various tasks became successful addition to other companies entering into Emerson Network Power including Liebert, Avocent, Energy Systems, Knurr, ASCO and Aperture. Thanks to merger of Chloride the Emerson Network Power company (is a part of Emerson) expects to strengthen the positions as supplier of full-function solutions for smooth operation of business (Business-Critical Continuity) and providing power supply in information infrastuktura. Besides, the industrial UPSes which are earlier not entering Emerson arsenal and also the customer base of Chloride will help Emerson to strengthen further the provision in international market, are sure of the company. According to Emerson, in Chloride having the enterprises in 23 countries more than 2500 people, including more than 400 employees in Great Britain work. Activity of Chloride has wide geography: a number of the enterprises which are engaged in assembly and testing are located in Italy, France, the USA and India, development and researches are conducted in India, Germany and Italy, in China coproduction is created. After acquisition of Chloride company by Emerson corporation the integrated lineup of deliverable UPSes was reduced from 98 to 43 models due to the choice of the best devices from available for both vendors. The power efficiency of models and their modularity as means of support of scalability were key selection criteria.
