History

2020: Attraction of $5 million investments

At the end of September, 2020 German AI- service with the Russian roots Endel attracted $5 million to creation of music which helps users to concentrate, relax and fall asleep. Investors Amazon Alexa of steel SleepScore Ventures, Techstars Ventures, Impulse Ventures, Plus 8 Equity Partners, Waverley Capital, Fund and Target Global.

The cofounder and the CEO of the company Oleg Stavitsky explained that its Endel Pacific technology creates the personalized sound environment:

It cannot be just one song, one playlist or one sound environment. A mood music depends on space in which you are, and should suit you.

Selection of music of Endel depends on time of day and weather and also on heart rate and movements of the user.

Musical AI service with the Russian roots Endel attracted $5 million

Stavitsky explained that the approach used in Endel uses achievements from several scientific areas, including results of researches of circadian rhythms (that music supplemented a day cycle of a dream and wakefulness), a pentatonic scale (that sounds were pleasant) and sound masking (that the user did not distract).

Endel works with a number of partners to use data retrieveds for the proof of efficiency of the technique in the scientific sphere. In particular, the company already used the selection method developed by the psychologist Mihai Chiksentmikhayi to show how the sound Endel environment can increase concentration by 6.3 times and reduce uneasiness by 3.6 times.

Stavitsky told that Endel also builds partnership in a business area, for example, working with the Japanese airline ANA Airlines to use the technologies by airplanes. The company also expects to improve partnership with carmakers and producers of smart loudspeakers.

The startup released applications for iOS, Apple Watch, macOS, Amazon Alexa and Android, and they were downloaded by nearly 2 million times. The subscription costs $49.99 a year.^[1]

2019: Contract with Warner Music for creation of 20 albums

On March 27, 2019 there was information that Warner Music signed the contract first in the history with the contractor algorithm of Endel creating musical compositions in the right frame of mind of the user at the moment.
