Rocket and Space Corporation Energia (RSC Energia) is a Russian strategic enterprise in the development of high-tech space systems. The corporation has a complex IT infrastructure, and the smooth operation of many business applications and services is critical to support the effective activities of RSC Energia and its numerous partners.

Performance indicators

2024: Revenue growth of 6% to ₽59,7 billion

In early May 2025, the Energia Rocket and Space Corporation announced financial results for 2024. The company's revenue increased by 6.24% compared to 2023 and amounted to ₽59,71 billion. The corporation's net profit rose 183.76% to ₽1,57 billion.

According to Cbonds, in 2023 the company's revenue was ₽56,21 billion, and net profit - ₽554,16 million. The financial indicators are published in the annual statements of the organization, compiled in accordance with Russian accounting standards (RAS).

The revenue of the rocket and space corporation Energia for the year increased by 6% and reached ₽59,7 billion

The corporation's assets at the end of 2024 reached ₽143,57 billion, which exceeds 2023 (₽138,2 billion). The non-current assets of RSC Energia amounted to ₽22,17 billion, and current assets grew by 3.64% to ₽121,4 billion.

The balance of financial items in the reporting period turned out to be negative and amounted to ₽754 million (-3.5%). Such dynamics is mainly associated with the growth of interest income, as well as the receipt of income on bank loan subsidies. The company recorded a deferred income tax income of ₽1,1 billion. As a result, net profit increased by 47.7% to ₽505 million.

According to the statements, the company's capital and reserves increased by 97.35% and reached a negative value of ₽45,03 million. Long-term liabilities of the corporation decreased by 36.81% to ₽59,14 billion, while short-term liabilities increased by 82.42% to ₽84,48 billion.

Operating cash flow of RSC Energia in 2024 was recorded at ₽7,91 billion. The cash flow balance from financial transactions amounted to ₽879,07 million.

Public Joint Stock Company Rocket and Space Corporation Energia is the leading Russian enterprise in the field of aircraft and weapons production. The corporation plays a key role in the implementation of space programs in Russia and participates in international space exploration projects.[1]

2020: Revenue growth to 43.52 billion rubles, losses - 5.37 billion rubles

The revenue of the rocket and space corporation Energia in 2020 amounted to 43.52 billion rubles against 36.57 billion rubles a year earlier. This was reported in the accounting statements of the manufacturer of manned spacecraft.

Most of the income - 41.36 billion rubles - fell on scientific research and development in the field of natural and technical sciences. In 2019, such revenue was measured at 34.2 billion rubles. On services in the fields of construction, trade and social sphere, the company in 2020 earned 623 million rubles against 985.9 million rubles in 2019. Revenue from services related to the provision of corporate assets for temporary use decreased from 199.5 million to 196.4 million rubles.

In 2020, the revenue of Energia Corporation increased to 43.52 billion rubles

Losses of RSC Energia at the end of 2020 amounted to 5.37 billion rubles, while net profit in 2019 amounted to 48.5 million rubles. In this regard, the recommendation on the annual general meeting of shareholders was adopted not to distribute net profit. In 2018, Energia received a loss of 2.17 billion rubles, in 2017 - a net profit of 1.2 billion rubles, in 2016 - a loss of 8.18 billion rubles.

The reasons for losses for 2020 are not indicated in the statements. Earlier in the rocket and space corporation "Energy" warned that the sanctions of the United States and European countries could lead to "restriction of international cooperation in the implementation of a number of projects."

From the reporting of RSC Energia it also follows that long-term accounts payable by the end of 2020 amounted to 58.42 billion rubles against 55.36 billion rubles a year earlier. Short-term debt amounted to 39.18 billion rubles.

As of December 31, 2020, overdue accounts payable exceeded 15 billion rubles against 13.82 billion and 11.57 billion rubles a year and two years earlier, respectively.[2]

Statement by General Director Igor Maltsev about multimillion-dollar debts and the critical situation in the company

The general director of RSC Energia Igor Maltsev sent a letter to employees in which he announced the large debts of the enterprise and the critical situation in the company. Maltsev did not rule out the possibility of "closing the corporation, failing to function normally, paying wages, not to mention creating products." The general director urged caring workers to "fight for the enterprise" and honestly answer the question whether he is ready to work for the result.

Later, the media reported on the possible sale of RSC Energia to a private investor and the dismissal of Maltsev. However, this information was refuted by the CEO of the corporation.

The court dismissed the case of ex-head Vitaly Lopota, who was accused of damage of 4.2 billion rubles in the implementation of the deliberately failed Sea Launch project

In July 2025, the court closed the resonant criminal case of the ex-head of the Energia rocket and space corporation, 74-year-old Vitaly Lopota. He was accused of abuse of power in the implementation of the Sea Launch project in 2010-2014, which led to losses of ₽4,2 billion. The process finished when Vitaly Lopota agreed to end his criminal prosecution due to the expiration of the statute of limitations. Appointment as CEO of Sergei Romanov

RSC Energia, one of the key contractors of Roscosmos and the leading Russian developer of rocket and space technology, replaced the general director. Sergei Romanov was elected to this post. The previous head Igor Ozar was dismissed, he led the company since 2020 after the departure of Nikolai Sevastyanov. The ex-head of RSC Energia was accused of damage of 4.23 billion rubles in the implementation of a deliberately failed project

In November 2023, the investigation presented the final version of the charges to the former head of the Rocket and Space Corporation (SRC) Energia Vitaly Lopota, in which the amount of damage from his actions was reduced from 9 billion to 4.23 billion rubles. Plans for the creation of the Baiterek missile system

Igor Ozar appointed CEO

In July 2020, the head of RSC Energia approved the ex-director of Sukhoi Igor Ozar.

Shareholders of the Rocket and Space Corporation (SRC) Energia supported the appointment of Igor Ozar, who previously headed the Sukhoi company, as general director.

2018: Appointment of Sergei Romanov as CEO

On September 14, 2018, it became known that he had Roscosmos " been appointed to the post of General Director of RSC Energia (part of the structure of the state corporation "). In this position, Sergei Romanov he replaced, Vladimir Solntsev who left his post in August 2018.

Prior to that, Sergei Romanov was the interim general director since August 2018.

Personnel changes in RSC Energia take place against the background of criminal proceedings against now former employees of the company. In August 2018, Alexei Beloborodov, Deputy General Director of RSC Energia, and two of his subordinates were charged with attempted fraud (part 3 of article 30 - part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

In general, in the state corporation "Roscosmos" as of September 2018, there is an active personnel rotation. Personnel changes in Roskosmos began after the appointment of the General director Dmitry Rogozin. He replaced Igor Komarov, who worked in this position since August 2015.

The rotation of personnel in Roskosmos began with a number of appointments to leading posts in the corporation's companies. On June 2, 2018, Gozha Andrei Okhlopkov became Acting General Director of the Center for the Operation of Ground and Space Infrastructure (FSUE TsENKI). Oleg Frolov was appointed executive director for the implementation of defense programs. Also in early June 2018, Dmitry Rogozin appointed Nikolai Sevastyanov as acting first deputy general director of the Roscosmos state corporation. And at the end of June 2018, Ivan Kharchenko became the acting deputy general director for administrative work[4].
