According to Avtostat estimates, based on the data of JSC PPK (a joint venture of the agency and the EPTS operator), in 2023 111,720 new cars of the Haval brand were sold in the Russian Federation, which secured it third place in the ranking of the most popular car brands on the Russian market. Haval's share in 2023 was 10.55% versus 5.45% a year earlier. The first line in 2023 was retained by LADA (324,446 cars sold).
The most popular Haval model in Russia is the Jolion crossover, which sold 55.6 thousand copies in 2023. The machine is produced on a full cycle at the Tula Haval automobile plant. It also produces the F7 and F7x crossovers, Dargo and the H9 frame SUV.[1]
Growth in car production by 2.5 times to 100 thousand units
The Russian Haval plant in 2023 increased car production by 2.5 times compared to 2022 - to almost 100 thousand units. Such data in the company led in mid-January 2024.
According to the Avtostat agency, citing materials from the press service of the Haweil Motor Rus company, more than half of the production at the Russian plant of the company fell on the Haval Jolion crossover. Another third of the release was occupied by F-series cars - the Haval F7 crossover and the F7x cross-coupe. This is followed by the mid-size crossover Haval Dargo and the H9 frame SUV.
The press service of the company explained the increase in production volumes by the growth of market demand for brand cars in Russia.
By the end of 2023, the level of localization of Haval cars in Russia was about 30%, the company expects to increase this figure. The authorities of the Tula region promise to help the enterprise with both subsidies and benefits and the search for partners to localize components.
It is expected that the assembly of engines for Haval cars near Tula will be launched towards the end of 2024, and crossovers of the Russian assembly will be equipped with these engines. In addition to engines, Haval expects to master the production of gearboxes in Russia, as well as various electronic components.

Haval notes that sales growth is associated with a significant expansion of the lineup in the Russian market, as well as an increase in the quality of after-sales service. For example, in 2023, the manufacturer doubled the area of the spare parts warehouse, which significantly reduced the waiting time for the desired part.[2]
