2017: Siemens Healthineers buys Medicalis

On April 19, 2017 the German producer of the medical equipment Siemens Healthineers announced Medicalis Corporation acquisition. At the expense of this transaction the buyer intends to expand a portfolio of the hospital tools and the medical systems intended for initiatives in the area management of public health care. Financial side of the agreement does not reveal.

According to the statement of Siemens Healthineers, the solution Medicalis will help medical institutions to execute the law on protection of access which is becoming effective in 2018 within the program of medical insurance Medicare.

Purchase of Medicalis will allow us to propose to medical institutions the powerful solution for determination, implementation, monitoring and development of own standard of care for patients within their diagnostic services — Robert Taylor, the head of department of digital services for management of public health care in Siemens Healthineers company says.

According to him, new tools which Siemens will receive together with Medicalis will help "remove inconstancy of indicators of important diseases to create the standardized diagnostic ways which improve results control expenses and in combination with intellectual system management of the direction on treatments improve shared state of the patient".^[1]
