For July, 2020 the company locates industrial complex in Lyon (France) where the personalized titanic implants using the 3D method - printings are developed and issued. The products Medicrea are aimed at decrease in postoperative complications and reduction of time of transaction.

2020: Medtronic purchased the producer of technologies for backbone operations

In the middle of July, 2020 Medtronic announced acquisition of all stocks of the French company which are in circulation on production of technologies for Medicrea backbone surgery. The transaction which was unanimously approved by Boards of Directors of both companies will help Medtronic to strengthen positions of own platform of orthopedic surgery.

The senior vice president of Medtronic for technologies of neurosurgery Jacob Paul considers that the combination of robotic technologies of navigation and three-dimensional visualization of Medtronic to Medicrea opportunities in data slicing pane, artificial intelligence and the personalized implants will allow to create the innovative integrated solution for planning and performing transactions.

Medtronic will become the first company which will be able to propose the integrated solution including surgical planning on the basis of AI, creation of the personalized spinal implants and carrying out surgical intervention using the robotic platform, - Jacob Paul on the press release told.

Medtronic purchased the producer of technologies for backbone operations

The product portfolio of Medicrea includes Unid Adaptive Spine Intelligence (ASI) which helps surgeons to carry out preoperative planning and to create the personalized solutions on implantation. The solution Medicrea is based on forecast modeling and difficult algorithms which measure and in a digital format reconstruct a backbone to its optimal type. The founder and the CEO of Medicrea Denys Sournac considers surgery of a backbone of one of the most difficult procedures in health care because of a huge number of different parameters which need to be considered at transaction.

The human brain is simply not capable to consider them all during the work with the patient, - he told. - Therefore the medical world looked forward to the individualized solutions in this area. Thanks to scientific progress in understanding of sagittal balance and spine injuries and also emergence of new digital technologies, we could offer patients the implants which are completely adapted for their requirements.[1]
