The Visionsense company was founded in 1998 by the engineer and the developer of the latest technologies Avi Yaron. It develops devices for low-invasive surgeries, mainly for brain neurosurgery. In 20 years the company attracted investments more than for $20 million. Earlier Visionsense was known as Envision Advanced Medical Systems Ltd. The main office of the company is located in Israel, in the city of Petah Tikva.
Abijah Yaron founded the company after motorcycle accident: inspecting a brain on possible effects of an injury, doctors revealed at it a small tumor. However at once it was not succeeded to delete it completely, and each subsequent transaction threatened with serious complications. Therefore Yaron independently undertook development of systems for mini-invasive surgery.
History
2018: Medtronic buys Visionsense for $75 million
In the middle of April, 2018 the American producer of the medical equipment Medtronic purchased the Israeli company Visionsense is going to pay $40-50 million for $75 million Medtronic in cash and $25 million more will provide in the form of control contributions.
The Visionsense company developed the system of visualization 3D-HD for minimum invasive neurosurgical transactions which as it is specified in the press release, "optically displays a surgical field". Besides, the company offers clients the Visionsense VSiii system which allows surgeons to use minimum invasive stereoscopic camera for neurosurgical, LOR, arthroscopic and laparoscopic transactions and also the Visiosense Iridium system which is intended for intervention infrared fluorescent visualization in the surgical block.
The company also proposes solutions for the minimum invasive neurosurgery, plastic and reconstructive surgeries, conducts researches in the field of visual contrasting of tumors and the general surgical procedures. Visionsense services the medical centers worldwide.[1]
