Appointment to the post of Minister Marina of Macedon

On May 26, 2025, Marina Makedonskaya, chief physician of the Archbishop Luke Hospital and chairman of the Regional Duma Committee on Health Protection, was appointed Minister of Health of the Tambov Region. In this post, she will replace Aelita Zenkina, who served as the head of the department from May 13, 2025 after the departure of Ekaterina Yunkova. Read more here

Acquittal of Minister of Health Alexei Ovchinnikov in the case of illegal hunting

The Pervomaisky District Court of the Tambov Region acquitted the former acting Minister of Health of the region Alexei Ovchinnikov in a criminal case on illegal hunting due to the lack of corpus delicti. The court found two other defendants in the case guilty and sentenced them to fines of ₽100 thousand and ₽150 thousand. This was announced on May 22, 2025 by the regional prosecutor's office. In mid-May 2025, it became known that Aelita Zenkina was appointed Acting Minister of Health of the Tambov Region. In this post, she replaced Ekaterina Yunkova, in respect of whom an official check was initiated. Read more here

Appointment as Minister to Ekaterina Yunkova

At the end of July 2024, the Governor of the Tambovskaya Region Maxim Egorov signed a decree appointing Ekaterina Yunkova as Minister of Health of the region. Read more here

Ex-Minister of Health of the Tambov Region detained in the case of illegal hunting

In June 2024, the former Minister of Health of the Tambov Region, Alexei Ovchinnikov, was detained in the Lipetsk Region on charges of illegal hunting. The detention took place as part of operational-search measures, and Ovchinnikov was taken to a temporary detention center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Tambov Region. A criminal case was initiated against the ex-official under Part 1 of Art. 258 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Read more here.

2023: Appointment of a new leader

In January 2023, Alexey Ovchinnikov was appointed head of the Health Department of the Tambov Region. The previous head of the department was Marina Lapochkina, but in the fall of 2022 she became a defendant in the case of abuse of office and left the post. Read more here.

2022: The acting head of the Tambov health department was detained in the case of falsification of the results of examinations on a fatal accident

On September 14, 2022, it became known about the detention of the interim head of the health department in the Tambov region, Marionella Lapochkina, in connection with a criminal case on the death of a person in an accident and an examination against the driver. Read more here
