Mist Systems calls itself the developer of the first-ever wireless AI platform which does Wi-fi networks more "predictable, reliable and measured". Also the company founded by the former heads of Cisco created the Marvis virtual assistant which uses artificial intelligence for troubleshooting in wireless communication and detailed studying of a customer behavior in network.

2019: Juniper Networks purchased Mist Systems for $405 million

On March 4, 2019 Juniper Networks announced acquisition of Mist Systems for $405 million. The buyer at the expense of this transaction intends to expand the presence in the fast-growing market of cloud computing for management of wireless networks and also to implement new features of automation in the operating products.

Mist Systems noted that thanks to integration of the technologies (namely cloud management tools and the advanced AI engine) with a portfolio of the corporate products Juniper Networks the Mist Systems company will be able to turn into "software-defined" further.

The AI engine which is the cornerstone of a product portfolio of Mist will become a crucial element of our plans for the future — the technical director of Juniper Networks  Bikash Koley says.  — Thanks to integration of Mist AI technologies into solutions for the orchestration of Contrail we will be able to provide abstract control over a various set of resources — from a wireless network in a campus or branch of the company up to public and private cloud services.

According to Crunchbase, by March, 2019 Mist Systems attracted in total $88.4 million about the moment of the basis in the 2014th, and the total quantity of employees makes 150 people. In total they will pass to work into Juniper Networks when the transaction (in the second financial quarter) after approval by its regulating authorities is closed. Juniper Networks will pay purchase by means of own money and actions.[1]
