History

2022: Juniper Networks Bought WhiteSand

In mid-February 2022, Juniper Networks announced the acquisition of WiteSand. The financial component of the transaction of the company did not disclose.

The deal is expected to open up the opportunity for Juniper Networks to collaborate with a highly qualified team of WiteSand engineers as well as access to technology. This acquisition will also accelerate Juniper Networks' efforts to build a next-generation NAC solution as a key element of an artificial intelligence-based corporate portfolio. Juniper plans to introduce WiteSand access control technology into the Mist cloud network management platform for campuses and affiliates.

Sujay Hajela, Executive Vice President of AI Solutions Development at Juniper Networks, noted:

Both WiteSand and Juniper share a shared vision of how to break down legacy NAC space with cloud flexibility and artificial intelligence. Their advanced NAC technology and renowned engineering team are an ideal complement to Juniper's artificial intelligence-based corporate portfolio.

According to Zeus Kerraval, founder of ZK Research, integrating WiteSand with the Mist platform will make it easier for customers to adapt devices, apply access policy rules and manage the ability of devices to predict, prevent and respond to cyber threats. In addition, Juniper Networks can use Network Access Control (NAC) data from WiteSand to improve Mist security management and add automation to the platform.

In addition, Juniper Networks can integrate zero-trust WiteSand capabilities into its Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) portfolio. ^[1]
