History

2022: Suspension of the plant in Tver amid Russia's special operation in Ukraine

At the end of March 2022, it became known that the SKF plant of the Swedish bearing company in Tver was suspending its work. The timing of the suspension is not yet known. The company is one of the leaders in bearing suppliers to Russia.

2019: Appointment of Alexei Shulepov as CEO in Russia and the CIS

2010

Creating the SKF Solution Factory Engineering Center

In 2010, the SKF Solutions Factory Engineering Center was created on the basis of the Industrial Service Center, which provides the implementation of a wide range of unique technical services for industrial enterprises in Russia. The SKF Solution Factory allows us to offer our customers comprehensive solutions based on the full range of SKF products and services across the company's five technological platforms: bearings and bearing assemblies, seals, service, lubrication systems and mechatronics.

Construction of SKF Tver enterprise

In 2008-2010 SKF implemented an investment project for the construction in the Tver region of the enterprise SKF Tver LLC for the production of innovative axle box bearing units for railway transport. The production building of the SKF Tver plant is the first in Russia to be built in accordance with high environmental and energy conservation requirements, certified according to the American LEED standard. The plant mastered the production of several types of axle box bearing assemblies for railway rolling stock, intended both for Russia and the CIS countries, and for export markets.

The products of SKF Tver LLC are certified by the Certification Register of the Ministry of Transport of Russia for the local market, as well as by the American Railway Association (AAR) for markets where American railway standards apply (North and South America, Australia, South Africa).

2008: QMS audit for ISO 9001 compliance

In early 2008, CJSC SKF successfully audited the quality management system for compliance with standards. ISO 9001 CJSC SKF also has a certificate of compliance with environmental protection requirements (standard ISO 14001) and a certificate of compliance with safety and health requirements (standard OHSAS 18001).

2004

Opening of the Industrial Service Center in Moscow

At the end of October 2004, SKF opened the Industrial Service Center in Moscow, which is located in a production room with an area of ​ ​ 1500 m2 in the south of Moscow. On the site of this Service Center, sections were organized for the restoration of large-sized bearings and the repair of spindle units of machine equipment.

Availability of products from the warehouse in Moscow

Since 2004, a new logistics system has been launched, and SKF products have become available in Russia from a warehouse in Moscow.

1992: Opening of subsidiary of SKF Service JSC

In 1992, SKF returned to Russia and founded a subsidiary, SKF Service JSC. In addition to Moscow, branches of SCF CJSC are represented in St. Petersburg, Cherepovets, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk. A distribution network is actively developing throughout Russia.

1937: Closing of sales office in Moscow

After the closure of the sales office in Moscow in 1937 and until the end of the 1980s, SKF continued to be the most important supplier of bearings for the needs of domestic industry.

1916: Launch of production at the first ball bearing plant in Russia

Just 9 years after the company was founded in Sweden in 1907, SKF launched production at the first ball bearing plant in Russia, located in Moscow. After the revolution, SKF, in the form of a concession, continued to manage the plant, and also assisted in the construction of a state-owned ball bearing plant in Moscow. At the same time, large deliveries of bearings made at SKF enterprises in Gothenburg went to the Soviet Union.
