Leaving the post of general director of Rusagro

On November 15, 2021, Rusagro announced the departure of Maxim Basov from the post of general director of the group. At the same time, he will remain a shareholder and member of the board of directors of the agricultural holding.

According to the press service of Rusagro, Maxim Basov's employment contract expires on December 31, 2021, and the contract is not planned to be renewed. The group will decide on the new general director by the end of 2021.

Maxim Basov has been the head of the company since 2009. The entrepreneur owns 8% of Rusagro shares.

Recently, before his departure from Rusagro, he invested in scientific companies, food delivery services and online platforms. So, he owns a share in the Elementaree food kit delivery service and the Wikium online platform for the development of cognitive functions. In addition, Basov owns almost 70% of the Primbiomed research antibody developer.

Gazprombank senior analyst Marat Ibragimov noted that Rusagro's current results are largely Basov's personal merit. Almost all the processes in the group closed on German. Ibragimov is confident that investors will react negatively to the news of the departure of the top manager. In his opinion, the group's shares will adjust in the short term.

2025

Sale of interest in Gloria Jeans

Former head of Rusagro Maxim Basov resigned from the owners of the parent company of the VVM Investments group, his share decreased from 1% to zero. The share of the fund "Named after St. Great Martyr Anastasia Uzoreshitelnitsa," established by the founder of Gloria Jeans Vladimir Melnikov, increased from 99% to 100%. Arrest

At the end of April 2025, it became known that the Moscow City Court rejected the defense appeal against the arrest of the former CEO of Rusagro and the head of Gloria Jeans Maxim Basov. The court upheld the decision of the Meshchansky Court of Moscow of March 27, 2025, according to which Basov was detained until May 25, 2025 in the case of the founder of the group Vadim Moshkovich.

According to Interfax, the defense of the accused asked to cancel the decision of the first instance and change the measure of restraint to house arrest, but the court did not grant this petition. Basov's lawyers Dmitry Kravchenko and Ruslan Kozhura announced their intention to seek the release of their client in the cassation instance.

Maxim Basov

Maxim Basov was charged with especially large-scale fraud (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and the organization of abuse of authority (part 3 of article 33 - part 2 of article 201 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Similar charges were brought against Vadim Moshkovich, who is in custody. Both defendants deny their guilt.

Lawyer Dmitry Kravchenko called the conclusions of the Meshchansky court, which did not recognize the acts of the accused as entrepreneurial, "completely anti-legal." According to him, in this case we are talking about private funds and relationships of entrepreneurs around commercial assets. Lawyer Ruslan Kozhura added that neither Moshkovich nor Basov had powers that they could abuse, as charged by the investigation.

The criminal case is related to alleged embezzlement when Rusagro buys shares of the Solar Products holding. According to law enforcement agencies, the damage in the case is about ₽1 billion. The applicant in the case was businessman Vladislav Burov, the founder of Solar Products. Burov and the Cypriot company Solpro, the founder of Solar Products, the beneficiary of which is called a businessman, were recognized as victims.
