Naqwasin Sergei Yuryevich

Nakvasin Sergey Yuryevich (born July 2, 1983) is the Director of the National Center for the Development of Artificial Intelligence under the Government of the Russian Federation from September 1, 2022. Deputy Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in the Scientific and Educational Fields under the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for Science and Education.

Education

In 2006 he graduated with honors from the Faculty of Technical Physics of the Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute (MEPhI).

In 2009, he graduated from graduate school at the Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute (MEPhI).

Career

2008-2017

From 2008 to 2015, analyst, manager, project manager, director of the Corporate Reporting business area at the Yes-Strategy Corporate Development Agency.

From 2015 to 2017, he was a project manager at the Agency for Strategic Initiatives to Promote New Projects, an autonomous non-profit organization.

2017-2022

From 2017 to 2021 - Director for the Formation of Research Competencies and Technological Reserves, Director for Digital Technologies, Deputy General Director at the Digital Economy ANO.

From 2021 to 2022 - Deputy Head of the Analytical Center under the Government of the Russian Federation - Head of the Center for Expertise for the Implementation of the Federal Project "Artificial Intelligence."

On September 1, 2022, he was appointed director of the National Center for the Development of Artificial Intelligence under the Government of the Russian Federation.

2025: Appointment as an expert of the Analytical Center under the Government of the Russian Federation

Sergei Nakvasin, who served as head of the National Center for the Development of Artificial Intelligence, which oversaw the introduction of AI technologies in the public sector and sectors of the economy, became an expert at the Analytical Center under the Government (AC). This was reported in the AC in May 2025. After the transition from the Digital Economy national program to the Data Economics national program, the SAPFIR agency took up the selection of research centers in the region, and the AC now oversees educational projects in the field of AI and IT.[1]
