Career

1999: Nienschanz

Worked as the CEO of Nienschanz Ltd, under its management Nienschanz was included into a 20-ka of the largest Russian IT companies. Came to Nienschanz in 1999, in 2002 headed the Moscow office, in 2004 became the commercial director of all company. Left a position of the CEO of Nienschanz Ltd in connection with transition to new work location to the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.

2005: Cofounder of Rosservice

Since 2005 Tamodin, together with Victor Yarutov and Yury Pesnya was a cofounder of Rosservice company.

2010: CEO of Voentelecom

On January 11, 2010 Nikolay Tamodin is appointed the CEO of JSC Voentelecom. In February, 2013 the Board of Directors of the belonging Ministry of Defence of Voentelecom operator did not prolong the ended three-year contract of the CEO Nikolay Tamodin. Alexander Davydov is appointed the new company executive.

2013: Arrest, criminal case about plunder of 700 million rubles.

On September 24, 2013 the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced Nikolay Tamodin's detention on suspicion of implementation of the criminal scheme of embezzlement at the Ministry of Defence.

As the police set, in 2011 within execution of the government contract he together with "representatives of the affiliated commercial organizations" delivered to the Defense Ministry obviously unsuitable for use, the special technical equipment which is written off and removed from balance of army.

In particular, spare parts, tools and accessories of means of military communication were transported on the territory of one of Voentelecom branches to Mytishchi of the Moscow region and under dummy agreements within obligation fulfillment are again delivered in the Russian Defense Ministry, explain in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to preliminary data, the damage to the state exceeded 700 million rubles.

Collected materials are directed to investigating bodies for adoption of the proceeding decision.

2014: Detention

Khamovnichesky Court of Moscow made in May, 2014 the decision on prolongation for two months till July 24, 2014 of arrest to the former CEO of Voentelecom company Nikolay Tamodin accused of plunder more than 700 million rub at Minioborona by the Russian Federation. Arrest was prolonged not for the first time. Last time the imprisonment term of Tamodin was increased also for two months on March 24.

In November, 2014 the Moscow City Court left the former head of Voentelecom company Nikolay Tamodin under arrest till February 24, 2015. The investigator asked to prolong arrest for concerns that after release the defendant will be able to disappear, destroy proofs and to pressure witnesses.

2015: Condemnation for 6 years of colony

On February 12, 2015 the Main Military Procuracy reported that the indictment on criminal case against Nikolay Tamodin and the former project manager Sergey Pobezhimov was approved. Charge of fraud, made by organized group is brought to them.

It is said in the statement of prosecutor's office that in 2011-2013 in course of execution of the government contract on repair of the machinery and equipment of communication Tamodin jointly with the subordinates Sergey Pobezhimov and Andrey Scherbakov through subcontract organizations at the underestimated cost was purchased by non-conforming items which in the subsequent according to fraudulent documents were accepted on balance of the subordinated plants as new to use in productive activity. As a result of their actions the damage in the amount of more than 714 million rubles is caused to the state.

Criminal case file concerning defendants is sent to federal court for consideration on the merits.

Nikolay Tamodin waiting for court was taken into custody, and concerning Sergey Pobezhimov the measure of restraint in the form of recognizance not to leave and proper conduct was chosen. One more person involved in criminal case -Andrey Scherbakov - in January, 2015 was already found guilty and is sentenced to 4.5 years of imprisonment and a penalty.

In April, 2015 the court found Tamodin guilty of large fraud and imposed it sentence in the form of 6 years of colony with a fine of 1.4 million rubles.

2019: On freedom

Two sources of edition CNews told that at the beginning of April, 2019 the six-year prison term of the former CEO of Voentelecom Nikolay Tamodin ended. Tamodin in a conversation with CNews confirmed this information. "Really, on April 5 it is released in connection with the termination of term of serving sentence, I am at large — he reported. — As for labor plans, I am in creative search. Certainly, I will work hard"[1].
