The Federal Forestry Agency, together with technology partner AT Consulting, completed the first stage of the project to create the Federal State Information System of the forest complex. This was announced on July 22, 2022 by representatives of AT Consulting.

The FGIS LC is developed in accordance with Parts 2 and 7 of Article 93.1 of the Forest Code of Russia in order to maintain the State Forest Register, provide government agencies and local governments, individuals and legal entities with reliable information necessary to carry out activities in the field of use, protection, protection, reproduction of forests, processing wood and other forest resources, as well as to ensure traceability of wood. Test operation of the system starts in early 2023.

"For three months, the project team has developed detailed and detailed technical documentation for the FGIS LC and its subsystems. She has already received a positive expert opinion. The next stage will be software development, commissioning and preliminary tests, "said Mikhail Nikitin, head of the Information Systems Development Department and the State Forest Register of Rosleshoz.

The FGIS LK is being created as part of the general digitalization of the forestry of Russia, which involves a gradual transition from paper documents to digital data, the introduction of registry models, and the rejection of duplicate and unnecessary information.

The system consolidates all industry data and will become the basis for the implementation of public services and functions in the field of forestry. FGIS LC will allow you to receive, process, store and visualize information on the state of the forest fund on forest maps, including quantitative and qualitative characteristics of forests, as well as information on their use, protection, protection and reproduction.

Deputy Head of Rosleskhoz Vyacheslav Spirenkov noted that the creation of FGIS LK is the formation of a socially significant, economically and technically justified information space for the sustainable management of Russian forests.
