EMC announced in October, 2014 end of transactions on merger of three companies which are engaged in cloud computing: Cloudscaling Group, Inc., Maginatics, Inc and Spanning Cloud Apps, Inc. Each of them has experience and technological capabilities which will help EMC to expand a portfolio of hybrid cloud solutions and also to improve the cloud infrastructure, storage systems and technologies of data protection. Together with the product EMC Enterprise Hybrid Cloud, acquired companies will help with the strategy implementation of EMS directed to providing to customers the choice and high speed of implementation during creation of hybrid cloud environments.

Thanks to acquisition, EMC will be able to expand cloud offers on three main directions: creation of hybrid clouds based on OpenStack, support of different clouds with a possibility of free data migration between them and also to offer new opportunities of protection of the applications and data created in a cloud.

Maginatics is the supplier of cloud computing offering to the clients global access to resources from any device and from any place in the world. Solutions of this company expand possibilities of the choice of options of hybrid clouds, providing to customers and partners an EMC set of interfaces for different private and public clouds. Addition in the form of solutions of Maginatics will improve strategy implementation of EMC on security of cloud data, thanks to implementation of the unified processes of protection and information management in various private, public and hybrid clouds. Maginatics technologies also provide effective data movement between different clouds with support of deduplication, optimization of WAN links, processings of big objects and multithreaded transfer. EMC is going to integrate Maginatics technologies with the existing EMC software for protection and data storage and other services.
