File:Aquote1.png
Touch, mobile and wireless technologies contribute to rapid development of Internet of Things, however its true value for business is that the companies can use data and analytics arriving from such hardware devices for creating applications capable to take useful information and to use it for the most effective customer interaction. The intellectual technology which traces helps to open true opportunities of IoT, estimates, starts "significant events" and creates on them reports. Preventive maintenance within which it is possible to develop quickly IoT Low-Code-applications for tracking of need for service of the valuable equipment — since servers belongs to such significant events and finishing the power plants connected by cars and airplanes.

The clients using Cumulocity IoT receive the open platform of the class Low-Code for rapid application development, previously integrated devices providing safe connection and management for November, 2018 with more than 150 types.

The webMethods Dynamic Apps platform (the version of Agile Edition) gives to business users the chance to develop applications of Low-Code using instruments of visual designing: drag and drop simulars, creation of the point-and-click interface, simular of processes and business rule. Users of Dynamic Apps can visually configure and use Cumulocity IoT data sources in proprietary applications of Low-Code that gives them the chance to execute workflows of the company. The data created by such applications allow business users to make more weighed decisions taking into account "significant events" (actionable events) which will help to raise the service level of the client, analyzing and managing a status of related "things".

It means that the companies can review the service industry and use Low-Code-applications of IoT which will help to focus, for example, on preventive maintenance and to avoid possible problems or interruptions in operation of devices that will help to raise degree of satisfaction and a customer loyalty significantly.

And though the idea of prevention of the arising problems due to use of the data arriving from devices lies on a surface, the solution of this task is complicated by the following:

  • for data exchange between the devices supporting IoT in the different industries different protocols are used;
  • devices generate amounts of data about the events arriving from sensors in real time;
  • the specialized software is necessary for data, comparison and data analysis;
  • application development using which the companies can use events as a cause of action took too much time.

However due to reduction of volume of manual programming, use of visually configured logic and integration the Software AG company gives the chance to quickly create applications of Low-Code for development of adaptable solutions for IoT.

Support of multicluster options of deployment and high availability

The Software AG company announced on February 22 start of the next version of the open cloud platform of Cumulocity IoT created on the basis of a high-performance distributed architecture. Now Cumulocity IoT supports multicluster options of deployment, support of high availability that increases its attractiveness for service providers. Among functions — the integration of devices which is not requiring writing of a program code with support of Low Power WAN technologies (LPWAN) intended for long-term remote narrow-band monitoring such as Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT), Lightweight M2M (LwM2M) and Long Range (LoRa).

Thanks to the optimized distributed architecture and peripheral data processing possibilities of the Cumulocity IoT platform (version 9) extended: it supports self-contained units, improves local data processing, reduces data streams and response time. Now users can work with same the dashboards, analytical models integrated by systems and separate applications both on peripheral devices and in a cloud. It allows to save capacity of the channel, to reduce costs and risks of security.

Among functions of peripheral data processing — high-speed safe connections in industrial networks, filters of redirection of data, management of the distributed analytics, centralized operation by peripheral platforms and convenient integration. These tools provide the full automated control of architecture of the solutions IoT of any scale.

IoT microservices and methodology of DevOps

The updated Cumulocity IoT platform provides Microservices SDK — an open expanded set of building tools of microservices and also industrial support of their lifecycle and methodology of DevOps. It will allow developers to avoid many common problems and to create scalable applications within the Software-as-a-Service model ("software as service") intended for architecture of microservices with the containers Docker which can be unrolled both in a cloud, and on the periphery, automating management processes of them. These completely isolated containers Docker take up own quotas of resources, the centralized authorization of requests, rules of access for participating tenants, processing of permissions and association of participants.

The applications based on microservices created using Cumulocity IoT differ in flexibility of deployment, scalability, high availability, resistance to errors and also ease of modification. It guarantees to service providers and other companies a possibility of fast updating and modification of applications within process of continuous delivery.

IoT Platform-as-a-Service

The release of Cumulocity IoT Enterprise Edition gives to service providers the chance to offer corporate customers full-fledged platforms of Internet of Things. They represent cloud services — nebrendirovanny or provided under the customer's brand. Management and their support will be performed by them on the party of the customer, at the same time all opportunities of the hyper scalable high-available architecture placed on the platform of service provider remain. Using functions of virtual multi-user architecture and complete separation of data, service providers will be able to create and unroll the branded solutions for the customers. The fast automated procedure will allow to exclude long process of deployment of images and to reduce housekeeping overheads. Besides, the advanced system of delegation of the rights of administration and the built-in support of multi-user architecture will expand possibilities of self-service for end users, claim in Software AG.
