2019: Beginning of serial production
At the end of May, 2019 the Chinese startup of Neolix Technologies started the first-ever serial production of autonomous vehicles for the goods delivery. The company expects to sell one thousand vans worth about $30,000 within the first year of production.
The startup already signed a number of contracts with major companies, and among her clients appear JD.com and Huawei. The Neolix plant in the city of Changzhou of the East Chinese province of Jiangsu immediately began work, and autonomous vans of delivery can be seen in some districts of Beijing and Changzhou now and also in the Xiongan special economic zone. The founder of Neolix Yu Yu Enyuan considers that delivery is only the beginning. Unmanned vehicles will change the world and will be used for the most different purposes, including the round-the-clock trade and accomplishment of small instructions.
In process of sales growth the company is going to expand production and to enter international market, having signed agreements not only with the Chinese partners, but also with clients from Switzerland, Japan and the USA. In five years the company intends to sell to 100 000 vans a year
Analysts foretell that automation of the industry of the goods delivery soon will become especially relevant – in only one China within the next decade will be daily delivered to 1 billion departures. Besides, specialists hope that pilotless vans suppliers will allow to test in practice of technology which then will be used in production of these unmanned vehicles.
Neolix not the only company which works on creation of robots for the goods delivery: so, Nuro startup from Silicon received $1 billion from investors and already started the automated delivery in one of the cities of Arizona, and in Sweden autonomous electrotrucks are used.[1]
