Honor V9

On February 21, 2017, Huawei announced the flagship Honor V9 smartphone, which has a thin design and a main camera with two lenses.

The novelty runs operating system Android 7.0 (Nougat) with a proprietary software shell EMUI 5.0 and a Huawei Kirin 960 processor, consisting of eight computing cores clocked at up to 2.4 GHz and an eight-core Mali G71 graphics block. The amount of RAM depending on the version is 4 or 6 GB, the capacity of the built-in flash drive is 64 or 128 GB.

The device supports the connection of removable microSD memory cards up to 128 GB. For this, a slot is provided that can also be used for the second SIM card.

The digital camera, located on the back of the phone, has two 12-megapixel image sensors, dual LED flash, laser autofocus and f/2.2 aperture. Declared high image quality in low light conditions. The front camera is characterized by an 8-megapixel sensor and an f/2.0 aperture.

The display is created by 5.7-inch with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and protective glass rounded at the edges. The technical content of the novelty also includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac (2.4 and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and NFC wireless communications. In addition, the manufacturer has provided a fingerprint scanner and an infrared sensor. The battery, which has a capacity of 4000 mAh, supports fast charging.

The device is dressed in an all-metal case. The thickness of the tube is less than 7 mm, the mass is 184 grams.

Huawei Honor V9 will be sold in black (Midnight Black), red (Flame Red), gold (Platinum Gold) and blue (Aurora Blue) colors. The cost of a smartphone in China will start at 2,600 yuan ($377). Prices for the product and the timing of its appearance on the Russian market are unknown at the time of the announcement.^[2]

2016: Honor Note 8

In early August 2016, the Chinese company Huawei announced the flagship smartphone Honor Note 8. It features an ultra-thin design and a large high-definition display.

The Huawei Honor Note 8 comes with a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels (Quad HD), high contrast ratio of 70,000 : 1 and 105 percent NTSC color space coverage.

The hardware is based on the Kirin 955 single-chip system, consisting of four computing cores with a clock speed of 2.5 GHz and four 1.8 GHz cores, as well as a Mali T880-MP4 graphics accelerator. The amount of RAM is 4 GB.

The main camera is characterized by a 13-megapixel sensor, dual-tone LED flash, optical image stabilization and f/2.0 aperture. For selfies and video calls, an 8-megapixel photosensor is provided.

The technical equipment of the product also includes a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, two SIM card slots (one of them can be used to connect removable microSD drives with a capacity of up to 128 GB), a USB Type-C connector and 4G wireless modules with support for VoLTE, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac (2.4 and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and NFC.

The device is powered by a 4,500 mAh battery (there is a fast charging function) and runs operating system Android 6.0 Marshmallow with a proprietary software add-on EMUI 4.1. The 7.18 mm thick device weighs 219 grams.

Huawei Honor Note 8 is clad in an all-metal body that can be painted in gold, silver and gray. The smartphone will be offered in versions with 32, 64 and 128 GB of flash memory at prices of 346, 376 and 420 dollars, respectively (for the Chinese market). The timing of the product in Russia was not reported on the day of the announcement.^[3]

2015: Huawei Honor 7

On June 30, 2015, Huawei introduced a flagship smartphone. The novelty, called Honor 7, received a metal case and powerful technical equipment.

The hardware basis of Huawei Honor 7 is the 64-bit Kirin 935 single-chip system, which includes an ARM Mali-T628 graphics accelerator, four Cortex-A53 computing cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and four 1.5 GHz cores on the same architecture. The amount of RAM is 3 GB, the capacity of the flash drive is from 16 to 64 GB, depending on the modification of the device.

The main camera of the novelty is characterized by a 20-megapixel Sony IMX230 image sensor, 6-lens optics, dual-tone LED flash and sapphire lens coating. The front photo module, designed for video calls and taking selfies, is created by an 8-megapixel.

The smartphone has a 5.2-inch IPS-display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (423 ppi) and a contrast ratio of 1500:1. The screen, developed by Japan Display, has thin bezels on the sides.

Huawei Honor 7 also received NFC wireless communications, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4-5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and LTE (ranges depending on the sales region), a slot for microSD memory cards up to 128 GB (it can be used to connect an additional SIM card) and a fingerprint scanner located under the rear camera. It is noted that the fingerprint sensor is provided not only for unlocking the phone and identifying users when making online purchases, as in the case of other smartphones, but also for performing some other functions, such as launching the notification panel and clearing the list of notifications. There is also a separate button for activating the voice assistant.

The dimensions of the product are 143.2 x 71.9 x 8.5 mm, weight - 157 grams. The gadget is powered by a 3100 mAh battery. The manufacturer notes the presence of a fast charging function, thanks to which the battery on the 50% is filled with energy in just 30 minutes, and charging to 100% takes about 1 hours 25 minutes. The handset software platform is Android 5.0 Lollipop with EMUI 3.1 user interface.

Huawei Honor 7 will cost from $320 to $400, depending on the amount of permanent memory and support for LTE networks. Consumers will be offered versions of the smartphone in gold, silver and gray body colors. Sales of the new model will begin on July 7, 2015.^[4]
