2018: Opening of the first-ever electrified road loading electric vehicles
Within the program for creation in Sweden by 2030 of the transport system on the basis of cars without internal combustion engines of the authority of the country in April, 2018 solemnly opened the first-ever electrified road when driving through which electric vehicles can fill a charge of the accumulators.
According to CNBC, is the cornerstone of the Swedish project under the name eRoadArlanda the technology similar to that that provides with energy electrobuss and trolleybuses, only instead of wires over the head current moves through the rails deepened in a roadbed.[1]
According to The Gurdian the cost of electrification of 1 km of the road is €1 million that is 50 times less than construction costs of the city tram line.[2]
When driving through the electrified road the cars equipped with the current collector can recharge the batteries. Initially a system is developed for cargo transport, but in the eRoadArlanda concern implementing the project of the same name say that I will be able to use it also passenger cars and buses.
So far the authorities of Sweden elektrofitsirovat a part of the trunk between the capital of the country and the airport Stockholm-Arlanda two kilometers long. Further the project is going to be expanded also on other highways of the country.
The electrified road is divided into sections 50 meters long in which current moves only at the time of journey of cars over them. If the vehicle stops, current is disconnected. Also a system counts the volume of the consumed energy and on the basis of these data makes out the driver a bill for driving through the road.
The head of eRoadArland Hans Säll assures that the innovation road works during a rain and snow and is absolute is safe. According to him, there is no electricity on a surface, it is at a depth of five-six centimeters. Even if to fill in the road with a salt water, tension on a surface will be only 1 volt so on the road it is possible to go and barefoot.
