Sapho — developer of "microapplications" for services of joint work, such as Slack and Microsoft Teams. The company developed the Employee Experience Portal system by means of which large business can take information from the cloud and local systems, helping employees to reduce number of solutions which they should use for performance of work.

The Sapho platform involves artificial intelligence to learn about users through their activity more and further to define high-priority events, trends and abnormal actions. The solution supports integration with third-party AI technologies that allows to implement processing of the natural speech in a chat services.

The startup is founded in 2014, and by November of the 2018th it collected in total $27.9 million investments. The staff of the company totals 90 people working at San Bruno's offices (California, the USA) and the Czech Republic.

History

2018: Citrix purchased Sapho for $200 million

On November 15, 2018 Citrix announced Sapho acquisition to help the corporate clients to reach bigger labor productivity. The buyer will pay $200 million from own means for payment of the transaction.

Under the terms of the agreement, all staff of Sapho will pass to Citrix, and the microapplications for smartphones and computers developed by the sold company will be integrated with the Citrix Workspace platform. Thanks to this integration the personnel of the companies will timely receive the working notifications requiring decision making and work of employees will be simplified.

Citrix purchased the developer of microapplications for services of joint work

According to the vice president for product management of Citrix David Le Strat, for the company acquisition of Sapho has the deep strategic importance as Citrix builds the vision of an intellectual working space.[1]

According to the statement of Citrix, the platform of microapplications Sapho it is going to use for expansion of functionality the solutions Citrix Workspace that will allow to optimize work of modern employees.

Using developments of Sapho of the company can automatically transfer the personalized tasks from the existing systems to any device, in corporate network or to other tools for joint work. Detailed information on working tasks is provided in a form of the microapplications providing contextual actions which employees can undertake quicker to complete the work and to make more weighed decisions. So, using application programming interfaces which are integrated with corporate services, and more than 50 microapplications for such programs as Salesforce, Workday, Concur, ServiceNow, Outlook, Google Drive and so forth, the companies give to the employees an opportunity to cope quicker with the tasks set for them, noted in Citrix.
