Cedexis — the American software developer, intended for optimization of performance of applications, their delivery and transfer of content within hybrid and multicloud environments.
2018: Citrix buys Cedexis
In February, 2018 the American decision maker for virtualization of Citrix announced Cedexis purchase. The cost and other terms of transaction do not reveal.
Citrix says that the company needs integration of Cedexis technologies in the world focused on DevOps in which applications are created on microservice architecture.
Emergence of the modern distributed applications based on microservices in hybrid and multicloud environments requires new approach to connection of remote users of applications with information necessary for them which is delivered as soon as possible — the director of Citrix product development PJ Hough noted, commenting on Cedexis acquisition. |
According to him, Citrix strengthened by Cedexis technologies will focus on wireless video streaming in the same quality which has TV-content broadcast on a cable.
Cedexis will also help Citrix to expand a network architecture for the best distribution of these users, helping them to optimize deployment of their applications.
The Cedexis technology dynamically manages network traffic on the Internet to improve and accelerate data streams thanks to what the company becomes useful to Citrix, the sales and marketing director in Forthright Technology Partners Carl Gersh considers.
The transaction will significantly increase capabilities of Citrix to optimization of delivery of applications — he reported, having added that Cedexis perfectly fits into large-scale transition of Citrix to a cloud of Citrix Cloud which is the hybrid solution.[1] |
