2023: Downsizing

On January 10, 2023, it became known that Cloud Software Group, the parent company of cloud service provider Citrix and enterprise application developer Tibco, began the largest staff reduction in its history.

According to the CRN resource, thousands of employees in different departments will lose their jobs. The layoffs will primarily affect the commercial sales department. In addition, it is said to reduce a number of network and application delivery specialists, software engineers, information security specialists, sales managers and employees involved in distribution channels.

Thousands of workers are quitting. This is a sad day for a company that has pioneered the VDI (virtual desktop infrastructure) market. It's a terrible day, many good Citrix employees with families and children leaving the company. It's relentless, "a source close to Citrix said on condition of anonymity.

Another source, who also wished to remain anonymous, said the current wave of layoffs is "the largest ever held at Citrix." Some of the abbreviated employees have already received offers to work for other companies. Vacancies for former Citrix specialists were opened by IGEL Technology, Aisera and Seesy, among others. However, as noted, in the current macroeconomic situation and in the context of the ongoing crisis in the United States, not everyone will be able to quickly find a new place of work.

The downsizing comes amid Cloud Software Group's shift in business strategy. The company intends to focus on serving approximately 1,000 large corporate customers, while other customers, including commercial ones, will be transferred to support solution providers.[1]
