2020: Construction of roads, loading electric vehicles on the run

At the beginning of June, 2020 it became known that the Israeli company Electreon Wireless begins to install electric charging coils on the highway in Tel Aviv. As a result the road will load electric vehicles on the run. The first such section of the road will have length of 1.9 km.

The CEO of Electreon Oren Ezer considers that the possibility of recharge on the road will be absolutely necessary for future autonomous vehicles. Electreon also advances the project in Sweden and is going to install coils on 2.5 km to the road on the island of Gotland. On the electrified road the transfer to the airport provided by bus company Dan and also transportations using the electrotruck will be organized.

The company places copper coils which transfer energy on a wireless network to the receiver installed under the passing electric vehicles. Energy moves on the street from the power supply network using the inverters installed on a roadside. Heads of Electreon say that for one night shift the staff of the company can equip almost whole kilometer of the road.

The self-loaded road will allow producers of electric vehicles to use smaller, easier batteries. Accumulators of the smaller size will be able to reduce the purchase value of cars with battery power supply. Electreon is going to equip first of all city bus routes. The company dreams of completely electrified city transport in Tel Aviv, and then and worldwide.

It is expected that Electreon project cost in Sweden will be $12 million. The main financing is provided by the government of Sweden. At the successful end of tests Sweden can sign the contract for laying more than one thousand miles of the electrified high-speed trunks.[1]
