2020: Start of serial production of the electric vehicle "Kama-1"

On November 23, 2020 it became known of readiness for the beginning of serial production of the Russian electric vehicle "Kama-1" which is developed by specialists of NTI SPbPU together with engineers of KamAZ.

The car is expected four passengers. Dimensional length of innovation will be 3400 mm, width — 1700 mm, and on one charge of the accumulator with a capacity of 33 kWh the electric car is capable to pass to 300 km. This stock of the course is possible when driving on the route, and in the city mode the indicator is about 250 km. At the same time the electric vehicle is capable to maintain a frost to - 50C.

Engineers recommend to charge the accumulator to 70−80% on what about 20 minutes will be required if to do it at the special station. Charging from network of 220 volts will take several hours.

The producer does not disclose characteristic of the power unit, however specifies that acceleration up to 60 km/h will take 3 seconds the crossover, and maximum speed will reach 150 km/h.

According to Izvestia, Kama-1 in a basic complete set will cost 1 million rubles at target sales volume about 20 thousand machines a year. However in July the government announced a 25 percent purchase discount of electric vehicles of the Russian production. They were included in the updated state programs of preferential car loans which were started in the summer. Therefore it is possible to subtract 25% from one million safely. Earlier such program could not use as similar cars in our country did not make.

The deputy manager of Competence center of NTI SPbPU, the chief designer of the engineering center CompMechLab SPbPU Oleg Klyavin noted that the electric vehicle where component parts of domestic production prevail, is focused on mass market – from individual consumers before carsharing services and the delivery services. All tests of a prototype Kama-1 will be complete at the beginning of December, 2020.[1]
