2024: Rigla bought Norma
The Rigla pharmacy chain acquired the Norma novocherkassk chain, which includes 23 high-margin pharmacies in the Rostov region. The transaction for the purchase of Norma LLC and Norma Forte LLC was registered on December 13, 2024.
According to Pharmaceutical Bulletin, according to AlphaRM, at the end of the third quarter of 2024, the Norma network consisted of 28 pharmacies with an average monthly revenue of ₽1,9 million each. The outline of the transaction included points with a good location and high traffic, five pharmacies were closed by the previous owners until the completion of the transaction.
Boris Popov, General Director of AS Rigla, stressed the strategic importance of expanding its presence in the Southern Federal District, whose share in the company's total turnover at the beginning of October 2024 was more than 6%. According to him, the company plans to systematically increase its presence in the region.
All purchased pharmacies will undergo the rebranding process in the near future and will continue to work under the sign of Zdravsiti Pharmacy. The company intends to develop omnichannel opportunities and increase the economic efficiency of retail outlets, adapting its technologies and services to the peculiarities of the local market.
In December 2024, Rigla also made a number of other strategic acquisitions. The company bought 47 points of the Pharmsklad group of companies, of which 37 pharmacies are located in the Saratov region and 10 in Volgograd. These points previously operated under the Pharmacy from Warehouse brand.
In addition, on December 6, 2024, Rigla entered into an agreement on the acquisition of the assets of the combined pharmacy chain Pharmacy Minitsen and New Pharmacy, which occupies a leading position in the Far Eastern Federal District.
The Southern Federal District is of particular interest to the company as a highly competitive market with established patterns of user behavior. The acquisition of the Norma network will allow Rigle to significantly strengthen its position in the region and expand access to the local client base.[1]
