The world's first Center for Integrated Technology-Based Solutions Intel opened in early 2017 on the territory of the office. " CROC The peculiarity of the center lies in the breadth of the range of presented solutions implemented by the system integrator with the participation of more than 20 technological partners of "CROC." Unlike similar laboratories, ready-made solutions are presented here within the framework of concepts IoT (), internet of things ("") Smart City and Safe City other innovative areas.

The center is open to all corporate customers from different industries who are interested in getting acquainted and testing the technologies of the future with their own hands. The solutions presented for the demonstration at the center today can be conditionally divided into 4 main blocks: the organization of a modern office, intelligent urban systems, video analytics and health monitoring solutions.

"By the joint efforts of the teams of experts' CROC 'and Intel, more than 10 advanced solutions have been prepared for demonstration," said Igor Viktorovich Nikulin, Deputy General Director, Director of the Information Technology Department of CROC. ."

The center presents solutions that are applicable in a wide variety of areas. For example, office systems allow you to create multifunctional conference rooms for collaboration and wireless work. And if you need to create an effective corporate communication channel (for example, for geographically distributed offices), Digital Signage technology is used. It allows you to centrally online control the translation of multimedia content to LCD screens, projectors, video walls, etc., regardless of their number and location.

An important place in the range of innovative solutions of the center is occupied by intelligent urban systems. Their functionality allows centralized management of housing and communal services infrastructure, traffic, safety and security of strategic facilities.

According to company representatives, Wi-Fi and video analytics, as well as facial recognition capabilities, are of greater interest to heads of trading companies and secure enterprises, although such solutions are applicable in many other areas. They use the concepts of the Internet of Things and big data to collect, process and analyze huge amounts of data, which makes it possible to receive reporting information that is important for the development and protection of the business.

Solutions for monitoring health and tracking the emotional state occupy a separate niche among the solutions of the center. Terminals for rapid diagnostics allow you to detect signs of fatigue, stress and health disorders without the participation of a doctor and the collection of biomaterial, using only non-invasive analysis methods. Solutions are used in areas related to risk (security and collection services, high-rise workers, dangerous production), and in daily office activities.

Opening the SDN Solutions Lab

On December 15, 2016, the system integrator CROC announced the possibility of helping customers - to "pump" the ICT infrastructure using SPORT (Constellation of Software-Defined Solutions and Technologies).

To do this, "CROC" has expanded the competence center for virtualization technologies "SPORT." Now, in addition to the virtualization laboratories of the computing and software infrastructure, it also includes the SDN solutions laboratory (Software-Defined Networking).

Within the framework of the created telecom laboratory as part of SPORT, companies will have the opportunity to test and select the most effective IT solutions for virtualizing telecom infrastructure, with the help of CROC experts they will learn how to design and deploy. The transition to a virtual platform will reduce the cost of providing IT services to customer business units.

Compared to the classical architecture, the software-defined solution provides centralized control over the operation of the network infrastructure. A single SDN controller manages the network equipment, with all brains focusing on the same center. This approach will allow the customer to use cheaper equipment in network nodes, which ensures the customer's independence from the vendor and reduces the cost of technical support. In addition, companies will be able to quickly and flexibly manage the network due to the function of automating its settings.

CROC also uses SDN technologies in its cloud. A software-defined network helps users simplify the management of data transfer and security policies as part of their virtual infrastructure built around the CROC cloud platform.

Dell Technology Solutions Center

The first Dell Solution Center in Russia opened in May 2014 at CROC. It presents the latest systems that have not yet been widely used.

"The IT infrastructure of any organization is a complex set of hardware and software components. Their well-coordinated work is an important component of a successful business. But testing and pilot implementations take resources away from both the company and the integrator. Whether this will develop into a full-fledged project is anyone's guess. In the new Dell-based CROC Solutions Center, customers can learn the latest products, model infrastructure based on their own business tasks, and importantly, without unnecessary costs for deploying computing power, "said Alexander Khludenev, Deputy CEO of CROC for promising business areas
.

Cloud technologies, remote and branch office solutions, virtual desktops, enterprise information protection, diagnostics and optimization of business applications, universal storage systems, data management - all these solutions presented in the Center are most relevant for modern companies.

"Our
Solution Center has the latest Dell systems, such as the VRTX Mini Data Center. This is an option for small companies and branches with up to 200 people: a portable solution, placed in the office literally under the table, works from an outlet, silent, but at the same time with a huge internal capacity. And for large organizations, Active System is a complex consisting of servers, a storage system, network devices, as well as specialized software. The customer receives it already in its assembled form, customized for specific tasks, for example, workplace virtualization, access control or performance diagnostics, "says Natalia Sofronova, Director of the CROC Solutions Center based on Dell technologies
.

Symantec Solutions Center

In April 2014, CROC announced the opening of a Symantec technology-based solutions center in Moscow. In it, visitors can try them for free on physical hardware and in a virtual environment and choose the best product mix for their company, as well as learn the specifics of integrating Symantec solutions with third-party systems.

In addition to testing solutions in this center, you can also simulate various situations that users face in practice. For example, based on Symantec technologies, the CROC Demo Center has scenarios such as migrating from one platform to another or restoring a backup data center after a simulated failure.

The demo platform provides Symantec solution blocks in four main areas: backup data archiving (products, Enterprise Vault+ Netbackup Appliance,), Backup Exec clusters and management (, storages Storage Foundation High Availability Storage Foundation for Oracle, Veritas Volume Replicator), (information security [[Symantec DLP_-_Data_Loss_Prevention|Data Loss Prevention]], Critical System Protector), as well as infrastructure management (Veritas Operations Manager, OpsCenter).

Alexander Dubsky, Head of the CROC Solution Center for Symantec Technologies

The "CROC" notes that the basic set of Symantec solutions available for testing in the demo center was formed based on the observed demand from customers. If you have it for other solutions of the company, the list of available products can be expanded over time.

The hardware platforms on which you can test the solutions, in turn, are represented by IBM, HP, Dell, Oracle and Symantec's own Netbackup Appliance, as well as EMC and Hitachi DSS .

Symantec notes that the possibility of creating such a center with CROC, which is a platinum partner of the company, has been discussed for a long time. The initiative to create it was shown by CROC itself. At the same time, investments in the solution center were joint. The company did not disclose their total volume.

Symantec Vice President for Emerging Markets Kevin Isaac told TAdviser that in total in Europe the company has about 12 such demo centers. The largest of them operates at the Symantec office in the UK. Most of the company's solution centers are based on local partner sites.

The creators of the demo center note that it has no analogues in Russia. According to Andrey Vyshlov, Symantec Regional Director for Russia, CIS and Israel, the uniqueness of this site lies primarily in the heterogeneity of the equipment on which solutions can be tested.

Open the EON Reality 3D Solution Center

In April 2014, CROC opened a center for 3D solutions that has no analogues in Russia. It can test modern audiovisual technologies: 3D projection on the screen, holographic projection on glass, virtual reality room, display with three-dimensional image without using special glasses and others. A total of 10 systems based on the equipment of the CROC partner - EON Reality were installed.

IBM breaks off relations with "Krok"

In February 2014, IBM de-authorized CROC, three sources in the IT market told CNews. CROC 's deputy general director Veronika Taraba confirmed that the company received a letter from IBM stating the suspension of cooperation. The integrator had the status of Platinum Business Partner (IBM Cloud Specialty as an Infrastructure Provider). She does not know about the reasons for this step on the part of the American vendor.

During the investigation of the case against Krok about duties, it turned out that Sberbank paid Krok for servers four times the selling price of IBM. According to the materials of the investigation cited by the Vedomosti newspaper, a batch of seven servers cost the bank $31.47 million against $7.7 million.

"We were surprised to learn about the inflated amounts that CROC received from Sberbank for these servers, and as a result, IBM terminated its relationship with the company," IBM representatives told Forbes. They refused to answer additional questions in both the Russian and American offices of the corporation.

According to Veronika Taraba, CROC lost the opportunity to purchase new equipment from IBM, but retained access to the spare parts warehouse. The Russian integrator has hundreds of heavy client servers and tens of thousands of x86 IBM systems under maintenance. The company will continue to support them, says a CROC spokeswoman.

In addition, the integrator, according to Taraba, retained the ability to buy licenses for IBM software and conduct training on its products.

The Russian representative office of IBM, in response to questions from CNews about the suspension of cooperation with the system integrator CROC, said that "in order to maintain the high standards of service provided to customers, IBM is constantly improving its business model and the conditions for relations with business partners."

The corporation stressed that "they strictly adhere to the principles of law-abiding and ethical behavior, both in compliance with laws and in relation to concluded contracts and processes."

"IBM complies with high standards both in relations with company employees and with business partners," the Russian office noted.

Sberbank, it seems, has no complaints about prices. CROC with IBM were not the only contenders for that contract. Proposals from HP and Sun Microsystems were also considered, experts were representatives of Gartner and "people with a name," says Victor Orlovsky, at that time senior vice president of Sberbank, who oversaw the data center construction project. "Envelopes at the competition were opened in the presence of vendor managers," Orlovsky recalls in an interview with Forbes.

The final price of the system integrator includes, in addition to the hardware itself, installation, configuration and advanced technical support. According to a Forbes source familiar with the terms of the contract, the Kroka contract with Sberbank provides, for example, for troubleshooting within two hours, while usually the four-hour interval is provided only for a reaction (up to a day for elimination). However, the top manager of one of the major system integrators notes that even with the installation of a superhead and unprecedented conditions for the service, the final price-to-selling ratio rarely exceeds 2.

The equipment supplied by Krok, however, often failed for the first six months - in the data center it went "right from the assembly line."

"The servers of the latest model are not bad in themselves. The problem was that the servers were "unrolled," no one knew how they would behave in a similar megaproject, "says the owner of a large IT company, a competitor to Kroka. - Equipment unverified in this way is not bought by any major bank in the world[2]."

Orlovsky confirms that the equipment did not have time to test, since IBM did not have current projects of this level - tens of millions of transactions per day.

2013

Opening of the first Hitachi Data Systems Solution Center in Russia

On December 11, 2013, the first Russia Technology-Based Solutions Center (Hitachi Data Systems HDS) was opened in CROC. Its task is to demonstrate the latest competencies, test solutions related to data storage and processing.

At the Hitachi Solution Center, customers can learn about hardware components, including mid-range and high-end high-performance DSS, interfaces, software capabilities, and a variety of solutions, such as tiered storage, fault-tolerant and disaster-tolerant solutions, disk backup, virtualization, and more. CROC engineers will test the performance of solutions, check their compatibility with customer tasks.

"Our customers have the ability to model their IT infrastructure from the entire Hitachi Data Systems solution list with minimal time and resources. And the new cloud status of Unified Compute Elite Platform, which CROC received the first of the Russian HDS partners on the eve of the launch of the solution center, guarantees customer companies the successful implementation of projects of any complexity. Private cloud solutions based on Hitachi equipment will increase performance and reduce total cost of ownership by up to 30% compared to traditional systems, "says Andrey Tishchenko, Deputy Director of Computing Systems at CROC.

Opening of the first HP Solution Center in Russia

2011: Partnership with Amazon

On August 19, 2011, it became known that CROC became an Amazon service provider, joining the AWS Solution Providers program. This enables the company to create cloud projects distributed between the Russian "cloud" of CROC and the "cloud islands" of Amazon around the world. Russian customers of the company have the opportunity to ensure the disaster tolerance of their cloud infrastructure and create provider-independent cloud solutions.

"To
date, we see a serious practical interest in cloud computing, but many companies are hesitant to apply them due to fear of being dependent on the cloud provider. Therefore, by creating our own cloud platform, we have provided not only technical solutions similar to those used by the world's leading providers, but also the opportunity to provide, if necessary, territorial distribution of infrastructure, - said Ruslan Zadinov, Deputy General Director, Head of Data Centers at CROC.

Distributed cloud infrastructure improves disaster tolerance and optimizes provider costs through related management tools. Due to the lack of binding to a specific cloud provider, it is easy to migrate to the CROC cloud from Amazon and back in case of critical situations.

CROC helps move business applications of companies to cloud computing resources. To do this, applications are modified to take advantage of horizontal scalability, backup and security in the cloud, creating virtual backup data centers in geographically dispersed regions.

2010:18 new vendors

In 2010 CROC has 18 new vendors, including Netapp, HiTec, 1C, Zabbix, Zscaler, Verint Systems Inc. The positions of key partners are traditionally at the highest level.
