2018: Consolidation with Roem.ru, dissolution of edition, a problem with financing

At the end of April, 2018 the Roem and Firrma editions integrated under the leadership of the new manager Yury Sinodov.

As a result of merge of two editions Roem and Firrma the team of the last was dismissed. The editor-in-chief of Firrma Daniil Plenin who fulfilled the duties on this post within a year was forced to leave the edition. Together with it edition was left by some more people from the Firrma group.

It is supposed that in May the neogenic edition will continue work already with a new command. Yury Sinodov whose tasks will include further development of the project, problem solving financing, etc. is appointed the head of media.

On the Facebook page the ex-editor-in-chief of the Firrma edition published a post in which explains the reasons and details of the events and also notes that the decision on merge is wrong and it is not rational. Further Daniil Plenin is not going to leave the sphere of the IT industry.

2012

Change of the name with Firrma

In October, 2012 in Terafirrma decided to replace the name. Now the website is called Firrma is simple. When at the end of July started this project, the name Terafirrma seemed to much strange. Besides, the domain was registered not on the company, and on the project manager. But it did not concern Igor Ashmanov.

The new name Firrma became shorter. But, most likely, the main reason of change of the name was what the domain captured by Kaspersky with one letter "R" redirektit with a compromising evidence on^[1] mister Ashmanov^[1] to the website] here.

Start of the website TerraFirrma

Startap Media Ltd is founded on June 6, 2012, the head of Ashmanov and Partners consulting firm possesses 66% of the company, Royem LLC (owns the Roem.ru portal) — 24%, to Alexey Basov — 5%, to Dmitry Falaleev — the remained 5%. At the same time the cumulative share of Ashmanov in the new project is higher than 66%: "Roy" for 54% belongs to its founder Yury Sinodov, for 26% — to Ashmanov, for 20% —^[2].

Ashmanov, however, reported that he is the only investor of the project now. It does not disclose the sizes of the investments in Startup of Media. According to Vitaly Akimov, the director and the founder of the Startup Point portal, an investment can make about $200 thousand a year.

For project launch in 2012 in Russia there are resources about startups among which there are webcrunch.ru and the same roem.ru and also a number of blogs, for example siliconrus.com earlier known as "Zuckerberg will call".

— We will not compete with Roem — Falaleev says. — They have other cut: they write about the Internet though periodically and about startups too. But their primary subject is people who work in the Internet industry. Roem — about news and insiders, and we will give more analytical, practical texts^[2].

At resource launch in June, 2012 the curator of the project so described advantages of the project:

The main difference from others two:

• the first — the majority of texts will be written not by journalists, but professionals in the discussed issue (investors, entrepreneurs, experts),
• the second — we will undertake a filter role (for this purpose we have mentors), eliminating low-quality, unnecessary data.

Now the startapny movement on rise, and there are no normal media about startups — Igor Ashmanov told Marker (July, 2012). — There was a guy who is ready to become the Chief Editor and the director.

"Guy" about whom there is a speech is the Dmitry Falaleev who was zamglavred the Russian Harvard Business Review. He became the fourth soucherditel Startup of Media and the owner of the domain Terafirrma.ru on which the new resource is located. The fact that the address of a new resource does not belong to firm Ashmanova does not disturb.

The domain is registered now on the director because then the firm was not yet, and the domain name needed to be taken away that it was not managed to be taken away — he says.

According to Falaleev, sale of advertizing and work on special projects will become the main sources of income. Now Falaleev and three freelancers work for the portal. "I have some more ideas what it is possible to earn from, but so far I will not test it, I will not tell" — Falaleev noted.

According to Falaleev, Terafirrma will not stop on illumination only of subject of startups, in the future on the portal articles and just about an entrepreneurship as such will appear.
