2017

Joint venture with First Bit

In 2017, First BIT acquired a 51% stake in Gradum. This was told to TAdviser by the head of First BIT Anton Dolgov in September 2017. The deal was carried out in order to build a major player in the field of automation of a large corporate segment based on 1C solutions, he says. The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.

Gradum was created as a company into which Axelot shifted its line of business to automate a large corporate segment. This happened as part of the re-profiling of Axelot into a multidisciplinary holding - it distinguishes other business areas into separate companies.

In addition to automation of a large corporate segment based on 1C solutions, Axelot's key business areas include automation of transport and logistics, creation of a unified IT infrastructure based on the corporate bus and creation of regulatory reference information management systems.

"First BIT" and Axelot joined forces to work with large customers

"First BIT" works with clients of various levels - from small companies to large businesses. The company expects that a joint venture with Gradum will allow First BIT to strengthen its position in the large corporate segment.

In turn, in Gradum "First BIT" transfers its competencies in the field of financial accounting and the ability to sell a flagship product of its own development - "Bit.Finance," said Anton Dolgov. Also, companies will exchange competencies and experience in other areas of automation, he said.

Personnel from the "First BIT" to Gradum do not transfer. The "First BIT" in total at the time of the transaction employs more than 5 thousand specialists, and in Gradum - more than 200.

Axelot itself chose not to comment on the deal with First BIT and the transformation of the company into a multidisciplinary holding before the official announcement. It took place on September 28, 2017.
