Quality support for ERP solutions is an important condition for their successful work for business. Under the current conditions, customers using SAP as the main accounting system can be confident of completely closing the needs for support and development of the system, as this is covered by the volume of services of Russian integrators. But not all integrators can offer Enterprise-level services to support other ERP systems, such as 1C. Therefore, those customers who, for various reasons, switch from one ERP system to another, choose partners who can provide a high level of service.

According to information for 2012, the company provided its service concepts on the Russian market - "power on demand" and cloud SaaS services.

This provides Tieto customers with flexibility and adaptability to current market needs. 2011: Tieto pulls out of buying TrustInfo
In April 2011, it became known that the Finnish service provider Tieto was unable to complete the transaction on the acquisition from the Russian system integrator "I-Teco" of the company "TrustInfo," managing the data center of the same name on Varshavskoye Shosse in Moscow.
As the [1] the founder and chairman of the board of directors of "I-Teco" Aleksei Remizov[1] CNews, the parties have already fully prepared the deal - they received the approval of the FAS, the Russian side performed formal internal procedures, it remained to draw up a single document.
By February 28, 2011 (the end date of the agreement), the Finnish company was supposed to send an act of acceptance of the data center (one page of text) to Ai-Teko, but did not do so without explaining the reasons.
Tieto told CNews that they, together with I-Teco, "analyzed the situation and concluded that in the current market conditions, the benefits from the creation of a joint venture will be less significant than originally assumed." "Tieto and Ai-Teco remain partners and will continue to cooperate. Tieto as a service provider will still remain one of TrustInfo 's large customers who have placed their resources at the leased data center site in Moscow, "added Karina Glukhareva, Tieto Marketing Director in Russia and the CIS.
However, I-Teco, according to Remizov, is no longer as interested in selling its data center as it was six months before. "We expected from the Finnish side first of all to receive an examination of the remote provision of IT services," he told CNews. - But by spring 2011 we realized that the qualification of our own experts is already comparable to the Russian representative office of Tieto. Having felt unwillingness to complete the deal on the part of the Finns, we did not insist. "
There will be no litigation or fines against Tieto, says Remizov. Ai-Teko also does not plan to look for a new buyer for TrustInfo.
2010
Expert assessments
Experts are cautious about Tieto's prospects in the Russian market. "In terms of outsourcing data centers, the market is, in principle, saturated, and here Tieto can hardly count on super demand," said Dmitry Nazipov, VTB Chief information officer. "But since domestic integrators have not learned to introduce other people's banking solutions, for example, ABS, combining Western experience with knowledge of Russian legislation, the company could find its niche with such investments."
"Domestic companies are leading in the Russian IT services market," recalls Elena Semenovskaya, an analyst at IDC. - Moreover, the list of these companies changes little from year to year. In order for new players to strengthen, it is necessary not only to invest in data centers and staff, but also to choose the appropriate strategy. " In her opinion, Tieto provides IT services at a high level of international standards and, accordingly, at international prices. "How much Russian companies can do this now is a controversial issue," she says.
Customers in Russia
As of 2010, Tieto's clients in Russia were Russian Standard banks, VEB, IBRD, VTB 24 and some others.
EDI certificate
In November 2010, Tieto received a certificate from the service provider EDI (Electronic Data Exchange) at ECR-Rus, the Russian branch of the ECR international committee. The ECR community issued Tieto a certificate for Electronic Data Exchange (EDI) services during the 2011 certification process. The certificate confirms that the level of services of the company meets the basic requirements of the ECR community. Obtaining a certificate means that Tieto's electronic data exchange services are officially recognized in Russia, which opens the door to data exchange networks, as well as improves partnerships for global and local customers of the company. It is expected that in Russia the demand for services not only for electronic data exchange, but also for electronic account exchange and electronic trading will increase.
T&T Telecom purchase and plans for JV with I-Teco
- In February 2010, Tieto completed the purchase of St. Petersburg T&T Telecom, which was previously operating under the name Design Telecom, which was preparing for about a year. The seller was Yury Pesnya, who calls himself the sole owner of the company. The parties did not disclose the amount of the transaction.
The Pesnya named the revenue of his company in 2008 - $12 million. "We have not yet summed up the results of 2009, but according to our forecasts, the drop in revenue will be about 30%," he added. All 80 employees of T&T Telecom moved to work in the Russian Tieto. Yury Pesnya became the head of the telecom direction in the Russian representative office.
The CNews rating of the largest IT service providers for Telecom Design telecom operators ranks 19th with revenues from telecommunications projects in 2008 of more than 229 million rubles. Compared to 2007, this figure fell by 3.1%. The share of telecom projects in total revenue both years was at the level of 82%. In addition to customers from this area (Megafon, VimpelCom, Svyazinvest, Delta Telecom, Comstar, Sinterra), the Russian company has clients in the banking sector (Master Bank, Rosbank, etc.).
Earlier, Pekka Viljakainen told CNews that from an investment program of 100 million euros, 30 million euros will go to the purchase of Russian system integrators. He stated that not all the amount planned for the acquisitions was invested in this transaction and other acquisitions should be expected.
Experts are also confident that the price of T&T Telecom is far from the full amount allocated by the Finns for purchases in Russia. "It is quite difficult to estimate the value of an asset, given the lack of information on the net profit indicator," says CNews Eldar Vagabov, an analyst at the Finam investment company. "Nevertheless, you can give such an assessment based on the ratio of business value to revenue." The analyst took as a basis a public group of IT companies - IBS, whose shares are traded on the stock exchange. Its capitalization and revenue are known. The Enterprise value to sales ratio for this organization is 0.42. "Therefore, the sold T&T Telecom can be estimated at about $3.5 million, maximum - $5 million," Vagabov concludes.
"The volume of the transaction can be estimated based on the fact that for telecom operators the price is now 1-2 annual revenues," said Oleg Tynov, commercial director of Prestige-Internet. - 1.5 annual revenue is the operator with EBITDA at the level of 15-25%. I believe that such a company providing IT services to operators and banks has this coefficient lower, and the purchase price did not rise above $12 million. "
"In the future, we plan to acquire IT companies with competencies in the financial, energy and telecom industries," adds Viljakainen.
- In March 2010, due diligence of the TrustInfo data center was held, then the work of auditors PricewaterhouseCoopers and lawyers took six months.
- On June 30, 2010, Tieto opened a new data center in Moscow and presented its service concepts on the Russian market - "power on demand" and cloud SaaS services.
- The Federal Antimonopoly Service has allowed a deal between the Finnish Tieto and TrustInfo, the data center of the Russian system integrator Ai-Teko. Participants petitioned for Tieto to acquire 100% of the shares of Cyprus Trust Info Commercial Limited, which is engaged in investment activities. As explained by CNews in the FAS, the petition was filed in accordance with paragraph 8 of part 1 of article 28 of the "Law on Protection of Competition." "This means that as a result of a foreign transaction to buy Trust Info Commercial Limited, rights are acquired against a Russian legal entity - TrustInfo," the department said.
It was stated that the newly created enterprise will have only two shareholders, a majority stake in a Finnish company, and a minority stake in a Russian one. Then the interest of the parties in the capital was not disclosed, and according to CNews Tieto received an option to buy back 100% of the shares over several years. The JV's board of directors must consist of five members, three of whom will be directors by Tieto. From the Finnish side, the joint venture received 20 million euros, from the Russian side - the TrustInfo data center on the Warsaw highway. To complete the transaction, the parties waited only for the approval of the FAS.
- On September 2, 2010, Aleksei Remizov and at that time Executive Vice President of Tieto Pekka Viljakainen signed an agreement on the creation of a joint venture, which was supposed to receive all the assets of the data center from the Russian side, and investments in development from the Finnish side. Their initial volume was supposed to be 20 million euros.
It was planned that 70% of the shares of the new company will be owned by the Finnish side, and 30% will remain with I-Teco. The option prescribed in the agreement at Tieto's request allowed it to increase its stake to 100% within 3 years.
- In November 2010, during the preparation of the deal with I-Teco, Tieto left Pekka Villakainen.
2009
TrustInfo Purchase Plan
The deal to buy Tieto a subsidiary of TrustInfo (part of I-Teco) has been discussed since the end of 2009. According to the head of I-Teco Remizov, the Finnish company became its initiator.
Investment program
Tieto decided to start investing in the Russian market back in 2007. By the end of 2009, about 100 million euros will be invested, Pekka Viljakainen, executive vice president of Tieto, told CNews. 60% of this money was allocated for the construction of data centers (data centers) in the Moscow region and St. Petersburg, up to 30% - for acquisitions, about 10% - for hiring and training personnel.
The first of two data centers - a small St. Petersburg - is already working, but mainly with Finnish Tieto customers. The Moscow Region data center and IT infrastructure will be much larger - 98% of the total infrastructure costs have been allocated for them. Its launch was supposed to take place before the end of 2009, but was shifted to June 30, 2010. In the future, Tieto intends to build a third data center - it, according to Viljakainen, may appear in Siberia or the Far East (in those regions where the company's new customers will be concentrated).
In December 2009, the Finns planned to start a new investment program in Russia. Its scale, according to Villakainen, will exceed the current one. First of all, this money will be used to hire and train staff. Finns allocated 10 million euros for hiring and training personnel in Russia. By 2011, Tieto plans to increase the number of its Russian employees to 3,000.
Thus, in terms of the number of personnel, the Finnish company can become one of the largest in the Russian IT market. According to CNews Analytics, at the end of 2008, IBS employed 6,800 people, Lanit 4000, Optima 3075, Technoserv 1684, and R-Style 1980. Now, excluding subcontractors, about 300 Tieto employees work in Russia.
"We do not plan to buy leading integrators, leaders with thousands of employees," says a representative of Tieto. - We are interested in those companies that have competence in telecom, financial spheres or worked with energy companies. These organizations should have experience with Microsoft solutions and contact centers, in addition, more than 300 people should not work in them. "
