Legion

Company

Content

Owners

Legion develops the software for the analysis and modeling of passability of public places, like the airports, shopping centers, stadiums, metro stations and land railway transport. Solutions of the company help to optimize flows of pedestrians, to manage them and to increase security in places of big accumulation of people. In Legion it is possible to model different scenarios of the movement of people and their interaction with infrastructure. The company is founded in 1997 and is based in London.

History

2018: Bentley Systems purchased Legion

On October 15, 2018 Bentley Systems announced Legion acquisition. The cost of the transaction was decided on to be disclosed. It is supposed what due to this purchase of Bentley Systems will be able to expand the environment of modeling by means of joint digital processes that it was possible to study and check scenarios of the movement of pedestrians.

The Legion software interface for modeling of flows of pedestrians

After closing of the transaction of technology of modeling of Legion will be integrated with a software package for creation of an information model of buildings of Bentley OpenBuildings Designer (before AECOsim Building Designer) thanks to what architects, engineers and owners of buildings can predict passability of objects and a situation with fullness of trains, platforms of railway stations, etc.

As traffic and capacity for pedestrians are the main problems when planning infrastructure and transactions, in design process it is necessary to give priority to joint digital workflows for modeling of flows of people. Having seized the opportunities of the innovation modeling of the movement of pedestrians of Legion in all complex environment of modeling Bentley, you will be able to make more effective decisions for improvement of ways of movement, capacity and the general safety of pedestrians — the senior vice president for design of Bentley Systems Santana Das (Santanu Da) said.[1]
