JSC NIITFA was founded in 1960 as the parent organization in the field of radiation technology and medical X-ray engineering. In 2017, NIITFA became part of Rusatom Healthcare JSC.
History
2023: Former institute financial director accused of taking bribes while maintaining medical equipment
In November 2023, the prosecutor's office requested for the former financial director of NIITFA JSC (part of Rosatom) Vladimir Shchennikov and the engineer of Radiy Assembly Company JSC (subordinate to NIITFA) Alexander Doroshenko real terms of 10 and 9 years in prison on charges of taking bribes in public procurement of radiological equipment services. 2021: Repair of GE Healthcare MRI Manufacturing Site la

Areas of activity
The Institute conducts research and development of products and equipment in the main areas of radiation technology, including in the field of converting radioactive decay energy into thermal and electrical; radionuclide power devices; means of radiation diagnostics and therapy of various human diseases; nuclear-physical methods and equipment for obtaining information on qualitative and quantitative parameters of the composition and properties of materials and products, monitoring and control of technological processes; gas-discharge ionizing radiation detectors.
For 2014, NIITFA OJSC develops and produces:
- equipment for monitoring process parameters,
- methods and equipment for analyzing the elemental composition of a substance,
- means of non-destructive testing of materials and products,
- methods and equipment for carrying out radiation processes,
- radionuclide power plants (generators),
- gas-discharge ionizing radiation detectors and equipment with their use;
- means of radiation diagnostics and therapy of human diseases.
The institute also provides a wide range of engineering services in all scientific and technical areas of its activities.
Main consumers: nuclear power plants, nuclear power plants, fuel and energy complex enterprises, mining enterprises, oil and gas and petrochemical industries, airlines and air transport enterprises, aircraft and aircraft repair plants, ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy enterprises, chemical and pulp and paper mills, agricultural enterprises and food producers, clinics and medical centers.
