2022: The court arrested Google assets for 500 million rubles at the suit of NTV

In early May 2022, the Moscow Arbitration Court arrested funds and property of the Russian division of Google in the amount of 500 million rubles. 2014: Decrease in revenue by 12% to 20 billion rubles

The revenue of the NTV television company in 2014 decreased by 12%, to 20.287 billion rubles, net profit decreased by 24%, to 3.79 billion rubles. Profit from the main activities of NTV fell almost four times, to 1.225 billion rubles.

The drop in revenue is primarily due to a decrease in NTV advertising revenues: in 2014 they decreased by 13%, to 19.2 billion rubles.

According to RBC, the decline in the channel's advertising revenue is directly related to the fall in its audience share. In 2014, the average daily share of the target audience of NTV "All Russians over 18 years old" was, according to TNS Russia, 11.8% against 13.3% in 2013. Of all federal TV channels, NTV demonstrated the strongest outflow of viewers at the end of 2014.

Since the beginning of the 2000s, NTV has been advertising its own sales house of the Gazprom-Media holding, which owns the channel. In 2014, he sold for NTV 14.565 billion rubles of federal advertising and 1.355 billion rubles of sponsorship. The decrease compared to 2013 was 15% and 8%, respectively. Sales of regional advertising, which was engaged in the company "Alcazar" amounted to 2.776 billion rubles.

The NTV reports also note that in 2014 the amount of remuneration to key management personnel of the channel decreased by 34% compared to the previous year, to 105.687 million rubles, but 2.7 times, to 57.203 million rubles, payments to the board of directors increased.

2012: General Director Kulistikov's conflict with journalists

On April 23, 2012, it became known that the NTV channel was leaving a group of famous journalists and producers, Russian Forbes reported, citing channel employees who wished to remain anonymous. According to Forbes interlocutors, the reason for the departure of journalists was a conflict with CEO Vladimir Kulistikov[2] to[2].

Employees of the TV channel reported that after the contract with Kulistikov was extended until 2016 on April 12, the general director did not sign the author of documentaries Katerina Gordeeva, the chief editor of the Central Television program Alexander Urzhanov and the producer of CT Svetlana Selina documents for a monthly bonus surcharge, which makes up the bulk of the salary. According to sources, non-payment, the reasons for which were not explained, is "forced to quit."

Gordeeva and Urzhanov in an interview with the Russian Forbes did not comment on the salary cut or further prospects for work on the TV channel.

At the same time, other sources on the channel believe that the reason for the conflict between journalists and the general director was not the size of the salary, but Kulistikov's dissatisfaction with some of the stories aired on Central Television and NTVshnikov.

A number of plots of "Central Television," whose chief editor is Urzhanov, have been taken off the air over the past few months. In addition, Urzhanov criticized the film "Anatomy of Protest," shown on NTV in March 2012. The film, which claimed that the opposition was paying extras money to participate in rallies, sparked protests, including a rally outside the Ostankino television center.

Vladimir Kulistikov, in turn, in an interview with the Russian Forbes said that "so far no one has left the channel," and categorically denied the existence of censorship on NTV. At the same time, the general director of NTV said that the channel's management has "substantial dissatisfaction with some programs," explaining that we are talking about the information block of weekends. The general director of NTV did not report any specific names of programs, but it is known that Central Television and NTVshniki go on the air on weekends. Kulistikov also said that the channel is waiting for a "serious reorganization," but refused to disclose any details before the start of the new television season.

Over the past few months, several well-known journalists left the NTV channel for various reasons: director of prime broadcasting Nikolai Kartozia, host of a cycle of scientific detectives and one of the editors of the Profession Reporter program Pavel Lobkov and editor-in-chief of the NTVshniki program Anton Krasovsky.

2000: Gazprom-Media becomes the owner of NTV

In 2000, the NTV channel came under the control of Gazprom"" from Vladimir Gusinsky: the media mogul was forced to leave Russia after the channel extremely critically covered Putin's ascent to the Kremlin, overshadowed by the war in Chechnya and the death of the submarine. "Kursk

Among the potential contenders for the purchase of the channel was also Grigory Berezkin, but in the end, Gazprom-Media received control over the media. [3].

Despite criticism from investors about how much this combines with the main profile of Gazprom's activities, the state gas export monopolist did not break with the media business, keeping assets in politically reliable hands.
