Knowledgeable sources told RBC that we are talking about Inlet Insurance. According to them, the perimeter of the transaction also included Inlet Life Insurance (formerly Uralsib Life), owned by PSK JSC.

Sovcombank previously entered the capital of Inlet Insurance: in early September 2023, it received 0.01% in the insurance company. In November of the same year, Inlet Insurance and Inlet Life Insurance were headed by Gabriella Urssu, former CEO of Sovcombank Life Insurance.

As follows from the data on the site, by the CENTRAL BANK end of November 2023, Inlife owns insurance licenses - for voluntary personal insurance, voluntary property insurance and reinsurance. Inlife Life Insurance has a separate license for life insurance, whose current owners are not disclosed.

As RBC notes at the end of November 2023, Sovcombank conducted an insurance transaction on the market on the eve of its IPO, which should take place in the near future.[1]

1993 - 2023

The history of CJSC Insurance Group UralSib began on November 1, 1993 with the formation of CJSC Industrial Insurance Company.

In 2002, 100% of the shares of Industrial and Insurance Company CJSC became the property of the Financial Corporation NIKoil. The corporation's strategy was aimed at creating an integrated system for selling insurance and financial products of the investment banking group. As a result of integration, the corporation has the opportunity to offer consumers in any segment of the financial market a whole range of investment, commercial banking and insurance services. Thus, CJSC Industrial Insurance Company became part of one of the largest financial structures in Russia.

In 2003, it was decided to change the brand of PSK CJSC to NIKoil Insurance CJSC. The change of brand meant a change in the company's strategy: along with the organization of a cross-sales system within the framework of an integrated financial institution, the main goal of the activity was to develop classic types of insurance, retail and corporate sales, and expand the regional network. Special attention was paid to the development and implementation of new insurance and bank insurance products focused on the specific interests of different groups of consumers. Using 10 years of experience and leading positions in the national insurance market, NIKoil Insurance provided services to the population and enterprises for all main types of insurance: life, health, property, vehicles, liability, financial risks, etc. During the year, 15 branches and 98 agencies were opened in 49 regions of Russia. Thus, the total number of branches amounted to 73, agencies - 130.

In 2004, in connection with the signing of the strategic partnership agreement between the Financial Corporation NIKoil and the Banking Group URALSIB, the general meeting of shareholders of the company decided to change its name from NIKoil Insurance CJSC to Insurance Group UralSib CJSC. As the marketing studies have shown, this is the name of the company that was more promising for the integration and expansion of the insurance business. At the same time, the change in name did not mean a change in the adopted development strategy. The company's success in the regional insurance markets was awarded the Golden Salamander Prize in the Regional Insurance Market Leader nomination.

In 2005, the main tasks for the near future were identified: building the key principles of the established company, organizing a customer service system throughout the insurance cycle and creating the foundations for further business development. In the same year, the URALSIB Insurance Group won the Russian Financial Olympus Award in the nomination For Active Promotion of New Technologies, and was also awarded the diploma of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs "For Contribution to Development, Creation of the Foundations of a Market Economy." The reliability level of the company was assessed by the Expert RA rating agency at the A + level.

In 2006, the URALSIB Insurance Group was accredited by a number of large financial organizations, which made it possible to strengthen and expand the built cross-sales system. In order to improve the quality of customer service, both in the course of insurance and in the settlement of insured events, it was decided to form a three-level business process management system throughout the regional network. The system involved building the interaction of branches combined into regional directorates with the central office, which made it possible to significantly increase the independence of branches in making various decisions. In the same year, the company's success in one of the priority types of insurance - voluntary health insurance - was awarded the Profession - Life prize in the nomination "Company of the Year in the field of health insurance."

In 2007, the company's three-tier business process management system was fully established. As a result of the transformation, 7 regional directorates were created, directly reporting to the head office and combining 74 branches, 179 agencies and 40 additional offices. At the same time, the system for resolving insured events was also actively improved: in 2007, Centers for resolving insured events were opened in cities such as Krasnodar, Perm and Orenburg. URALSIB Insurance Group continued to develop its business while maintaining a stable financial condition and ensuring the profitability of its operations. The result of this work was the assignment of the company by the Expert RA rating agency of the highest reliability rating - at the level of "A++" - "Extremely high reliability level." In November 2015, as part of Uralsib Bank's recovery program, Vladimir Kogan acquired an 82% stake in the bank, whose asset is URALSIB Insurance Group.

In October 2017, the Bank of Russia revoked the license from the Uralsib insurance group for the provision of OSAGO insurance services, follows from a message on the regulator's website. The decision was made in connection with the voluntary refusal of the company to carry out activities related to auto insurance. It comes into force on the day of publication.
