2024: Severstal bought Ventall Steel Solutions

On January 10, 2024, Severstal announced the purchase of two assets of the Ventall holding in the Kaluga and Tula regions. We are talking about the acquisition of Ventall Steel Solutions.

It is assumed that the new capacities will allow Severstal to increase the supply of metal structures for the construction of buildings and structures in the commercial sector and for industrial enterprises, including in the Russian oil and gas industry, the press release says.

In addition, Severstal bought a production complex in Cherepovets (Vologda Oblast). Production facilities with an area of ​ ​ 46,000 square meters. m previously belonged to the Cherepovets plant of metal structures, the work of which was stopped. The production capacity of the complex will be 30,000 tons per year after investment events.

Severstal intends to invest more than 1 billion rubles in the renovation of this production complex. The funds will be used to repair the infrastructure, as well as to purchase and install new equipment. The new name of the asset is Severstal Steel Structures. The release of the first products is planned in the second half of 2024. About 500 new jobs will be created at the enterprise. According to the head of Severstal Alexander Shevelev, the transactions correspond to the company's long-term strategy for the development of deep processing of rolled metal.

The capacity of Severstal's three assets will reach 126 thousand tons per year. Of these, 48 thousand tons will be able to produce Severstal Steel Solutions taking into account the implementation of the investment project to expand capacities by 2025, 48 thousand tons - Ventall Steel Solutions, another 30 thousand tons - the production complex in Cherepovets after the implementation of investment measures.^[1]
