2025: Official Mill Launch
The company "Nordgold" officially launched the Tokkinsky mining and processing plant in the Olekminsky district of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) with an investment volume of over ₽80 billion. The new enterprise has become the third object of the Gross gold mining cluster and plans to achieve a design processing capacity of up to 5 million tons of ore per year by 2027. The solemn launch was held by the head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aysen Nikolaev on September 5, 2025.
The construction of the plant was carried out on the basis of the Tokkinskoye field, which was discovered by Nordgold geologists in 2020. The project is aimed at significantly increasing the volume of gold production in the region and strengthening the position of Yakutia as a key center for gold mining in Russia.
Aysen Nikolaev stressed the strategic importance of launching an enterprise for the development of the region. According to him, Nordgold is one of the key strategic investors in the Olekminsky district and Yakutia as a whole, focused on a cluster approach to the development of mining projects. The launch of the plant will raise the level of gold production and will be an incentive for the development of social programs.
The new enterprise has created over 500 jobs, which will positively affect the economy and social sphere of the Olekminsky district. The development of production facilities contributes to the creation of high-tech jobs in remote areas of the republic with traditionally difficult logistics.
General Director of Nordgold Georgy Smirnov noted that the Tokkinsky plant meets high environmental standards and provides modern jobs. The company will generate additional tax revenues and social investments in the economy of Yakutia.
In 2023-2024, Nordgold paid over ₽21 billion taxes to the budgets of Yakutia. As production develops at the new plant, tax revenues will increase, which will strengthen the budgetary base of the region and create additional opportunities for financing social[1]
