Directum Archive of insurance documentation

One of the main complaints from the staff of the insurance companies responsible for filling of archive, is a complexity of entering of such large number of documents into a system. The complexity, as a rule, is meant as need of filling of a set of fields for cards of documents, duplication of these data for the insurance accounting systems and also complexity of attachment to the got card of the document of its scanned image.

For an exception of the above described difficulties we suggest to use mechanisms of integration and barcoding which are put in storage system of insurance documents of DIRECTUM. For this purpose it is necessary on all documents which arrive from clients (for example, the agreement COMPREHENSIVE INSURANCE with related documents), to put the barcode containing a unique document number (ID) and also a type of this document. Sometimes the companies want to put down for simplicity the barcode to a rhinestone on a set of documents, it is also admissible, but then an opportunity to automatically control completeness of documents and to fix the actual location of the original withdrawn from paper archive of documents disappears. It is possible to mark documents the barcode by different methods:

  • label sticker with the barcode on the document. In this case it is supposed that labels can be printed in advance (in rolls) or on site using the printer of labels;
  • printing of barcodes directly on documents using the normal printer if there is an empty seat on the face or on the return the document;
  • printing of a single sheet with the barcode;
  • initial printing of the barcode together with the form of documents, such, for example, as the policy of KASKO.

After all documents are marked by barcodes, the staff of insurance companies enters data on the insurance contract or an insured event in the accounting system of insurance company the same as did it always. Further it is necessary that a part of the data created by the employee was automatically transferred to new storage system of insurance documents of DIRECTUM. For this purpose only two additional clicking of the button are required: the first — in the insurance accounting system for start of transfer of the created data and the second — on the scanner of barcodes at their reading from documents (the scanner of barcodes looks similar to scanners of barcodes in shops when you buy clothes or products). After above-mentioned actions in storage system of insurance documents of DIRECTUM there are all necessary data, including the unique document number concluded in the barcode.

Then on the scanning station of documents the responsible scans documents on the normal scanner saving them in the special folder from which the special service of storage system of insurance documentation DIRECTUM takes away files and, separating them into separate documents by the barcode, attaches to the corresponding cards which were autocompleted from the accounting system. Thus without manual work documents from the scanner automatically get to storage system of insurance documentation of DIRECTUM with the completed details in cards. Moreover, fixation of time/date of scanning of the document and the division/Full Name of the scanning employee is also automatic.

Further on the scanned document is included in the special folder to the employee responsible for verification of the scanned documents who checks quality of the scanned documents and if it unsatisfactory, can resend the document to the scanning station.

Bring in archive initially not paper documents, for example electronic photos from the place of road accident, it is possible after entering of all paper documents also uniform clicking of the photos button. They will remain as the multipage document, they can be compared easily, for example, to preinsurance photos of the car.

Thus, the archive of insurance documents which can be opened from the insurance accounting system clicking of the button forms (different mechanisms of integration of the DIRECTUM system, such as com can be for this purpose used. - objects or web services). Now any document of the client can be found quickly. If necessary to the necessary employees different reminders, for example about the termination of terms of agreements or on shortage of any document package can come. Use of the scanner of barcodes also facilitates life to the registrar in case of need to fix withdrawal return of originals of documents in paper archive — for this purpose it is only necessary to scan the barcode of the issued/returned document and to specify to whom it is issued and for what term.

And after in the company the convenient archive of insurance documentation is organized, it is already possible to think and of the movement of documents between employees, and of automation of different processes, for example settlements of losses. In this case settlement process of losses will be transparent for employees and according to clients, i.e. there will be an opportunity to see at what stage and who has a statement of the client. It is possible to include in process of approval of 'permanent partners', such as independent experts and stations of repair and TO, providing them access to documents via the web interface or unloading them on the special portal. It is also possible to maintain a register of standard damages for the purpose of collecting of statistics and acceptance of managing actions taking into account this statistics, etc.

2020: Compatibility of Directum of version 5.8 with JaCarta

On April 27, 2020 reported to Aladdin R.D. company what together with Directum was completed by tests on compatibility of the products.

On September 19, 2019 the DIRECTUM company released upgraded version of the product DIRECTUM 5.8.

According to the company, in upgraded version the emphasis is placed on intellectual services and opportunities for exchange with partners. Due to automation of routine transactions users perform less operations in a system: details of the partner are filled out in two clicks, and reports on a business trip — in general without participation of the person. Besides, with version 5.8 the quantity of products from the Unified register of the Russian programs compatible to DIRECTUM increased.

The organization can have several tens of thousands of partners. Bring information on each of them in a system manually it is labor-consuming. Automatic filling of the main company details — the function available in DIRECTUM 5.8. It is enough to enter PSRN, a TIN or the name of the organization and to press the button. It is also easy to receive reliability assessment of the partner: information on owners, participation in public contracts and arbitration cases.

Often used actions can be taken out on a preview panel that they always were near at hand. For example, at message handling from the systems of exchange the user can refuse in a one click signing or redirect the document to other employee. At the expense of it processing entering accelerates that is relevant for the companies with a big document flow.

It is possible to send the document by mail through a context menu now and in the web client. E-mail clients for Windows, by Linux and macOS are supported.

Integration into office applications can work with several DIRECTUM systems. It simplifies work in the geographically distributed environment when separate copies of DIRECTUM for a different type of documentation or for head office and branches are used.

Using integration the user can perform operations with system objects directly from the open document: for example, to copy the link or to find the connected documents.

Preserving of the text of the letter

For convenience documents contact records of reference books and other documents of a system — it is so simpler to find information on a matter of concern. From this version in the history of work with an object it is possible to see who and when created or deleted communication.

Only the user with the rights to change of documents can add or delete communications — it reduces risk of accidental object linking. It is in addition possible to prohibit to change communications after document posting in the accounting system or sendings it to consideration.

Changes concerned also mobile application of DIRECTUM Solo. Now it is available also on smartphones running iOS and Android. If earlier you worked on the tablet, then at installation of the application on phone you should not purchase the additional license.

DIRECTUM proposes the ready-made solution for electronic exchange of documents with partners. Right after internal approval and signing documents go to the addressee through the EDO necessary service, at the same time a system controls their return.

In version 5.8 storage of electronic way bills is supported. Working in an electronic format, each participant of cargo transportation quickly gets access to necessary information, saves resources on printing and transfer of documents. At the same time loss of delivery notes on the way is completely excluded.

The companies working with way bills in Synerdocs service can use all advantages of the DIRECTUM system: convenient search, differentiation of access rights, unloading for the reporting. At any stage the status of the document and information on electronic signatures is visible.

Stamp of the operator of e-document flow

Unloading of documents is available to FTS with preserving of folder structure. According to rules, the taxpayer should not only unload documents, but also specify what point of requirements each of them treats. In DIRECTUM 5.8 the user can create the necessary folder structure with documents in a system, to call them in compliance with points of requirements and to unload with preserving of structure. In such type it is convenient to transfer them to tax administration on the telecommunication channels (TC).

The full stroke of work with the universal transfer documents (UTD) of the updated format is implemented. Version 5.02 format for documents on transfer of goods (DPT), documents on transfer of results of works (DPRR), the universal transfer documents (UTD) and the universal adjustment documents (UAD) is supported.

All formats are approved by FTS and consider changes in the legislation.

Intelligence in ECM — one of the main directions of development of a system. Together with this version there were solutions expanding possibilities of DIRECTUM Ario.

"Comparison of documents" compares two versions and creates the report with convenient visualization of differences. Documents without text layer (scan copy) at first are transferred to Ario services — they take the text necessary for identification of distinctions. As a result labor costs and risk of errors when comparing editions of the agreement or other important documents decrease.

"Completing and verification of documents" automatically determines and separates documentation kits from each other. The employee needs only to check correctness of their structure.

The solution "Business Trips and Expense Reports" optimizes registration, approval of business trips and reports on advance payments and also formation of a set of documents according to them. In case of auditor or tax audits documents can be unloaded quickly from a system.

The request and the order for a business trip will be approved and affirm as a system according to regulations of the company, and for the report on traveling expenses the employee does not need to fill a pile of papers any more. Now it is enough to it to photograph the documents confirming expenditure on phone and to send a photo to an e-mail of the company.

Other work for the person will be performed by Ario services — will take and will save in a system data from electronic checks, an avia - and train tickets: dates of departure and arrival, route, Full Name of the person, information on cost.

Upon return from a business trip to the employee will be to check enough already completed electronic expense report and to send it for approval.

It is possible to work with expense reports within any other business process of the organization which provides advance payments.

Compatibility with Red OS

On August 16, 2019 the company Directum reported that after successful tests ECM- the DIRECTUM systems and operating system RED OS are received data about complete correctness of their joint work that allows to recommend use of the DIRECTUM system Russian to the companies and to government institutions. So, the enterprises can reduce ownership cost IT infrastructure, and state bodies have more opportunities to promote performed by Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications Russia order No. 96 "About the approval of the plan import substitution software".

Directum 5.6

On June 19, 2018 the Directum company announced release of DIRECTUM of version 5.6. With version 5.6 elements of artificial intelligence considerably simplify work of users at flux profile of incoming documents, their registration and during creation of instructions. Different classes of systems will be able to participate in end-to-end processes between the companies of holding, and exchange with partners is conducted directly from the DIRECTUM interface.

End-to-end processes of holding — through different classes of systems

As the solution designer noted, the DIRECTUM system helps to establish stable and effective cooperation between the companies of holding. For the organization of end-to-end business processes in group the mechanism of intersystem interaction (DCI) is used.

It is possible to connect different installations of DIRECTUM to DCI (starting with version 5.4) and other classes of a system (ERP CRM and so forth). The universal template of the adapter on the basis of which adapters to each new connected system are created was for this purpose developed. And if in the company the corporate data bus for interaction between systems is already used, then it can also be used together with mechanisms DCI.

The web interface of monitoring of intersystem processes simplifying and accelerating elimination of problems or errors by the administrator is developed.

Intercorporate exchange of documents, without quitting the system

In DIRECTUM thanks to ready connectors to e-document flow services and the accounting systems all solutions are most integrated, and the user works only in the interface of an ECM system.

The connector to service of exchange of GSI is developed. Users can exchange with partners agreements, primary accounting documentation, letters and other documents directly from the interface of an ECM system.

Folders with additional columns and actions will help to organize document registers for mass processing: considerations, approvals, signings. It is enough to employee to sort and filter the list and then to select action, for example, signing. As a result all selected documents will be signed. The interface of the register is similar to appearance of the accounting system therefore it will be usual for accountants.

Often tax authorities require to attach to the electronic document in the XML format its PDF copy with information on signatures. The stamp contains data on signers, certificates and signature date and also is announced reliability of the signature and service of exchange.

Using Directum Ario the flow of incoming documents is distributed automatically by types, magazines of registration and responsible. Document registration also became even simpler. Directum Ario will recognize details of the document, takes them and fills a registration card. For each document type, as structured, and unstructured (agreements, letters), rules of search and extraction of details are configured individually. Without opening the document, the clerk verifies details in the field of a preview of SRC, if necessary dozapolnyat or adjusts them.

Creation of instructions from meeting minutes is automated. As a rule, texts of instructions are typed manually on the basis of a meeting. If meetings are held regularly and not one-two orders, but the whole list are issued, then on preparation of tasks a lot of time leaves. With DIRECTUM 5.6 the secretary needs to fill out only the protocol on the set format and to press one button. A system itself will create instructions, it is necessary to check them and to send to work.

Pronouncement of resolutions on documents in a graphic type, for example, using the stylus, or in printing is also available. The assistant receives the resolution in the form of the PDF document and issues instructions to employees on its basis.

Simultaneous operation with the different DIRECTUM systems for control of business processes in independent branches of the company from one device of the head is possible.

Much attention is paid to ensuring mobile security during the work with corporate information. At loss of the tablet the administrator will be able to delete all confidential data which remained on the device in Directum Solo. It is also possible completely to prohibit to work in the application with certain types of information, for example, personal data or a trade secret.

Other opportunities of the version

The web client from "box" turns on the module "Financial Archive". With its help the full stroke of work with primary accounting documents is automated: creation, approval, signing, sending to the partner, storage and preparation for tax audits.

There were covers of web modules with all available user scenarios. The employee can configure the interface under the working functions — on a panel of actions there will be necessary buttons, and in a tree of folders links to often used components will be displayed.

According to the statement of the developer, indicators of high-speed performance of a system that the speed of a response to actions was minimum, even at a large number of simultaneous users raised:

  • Full-text search queries are executed quicker, thanks to a scalable retrieval service. If in the DIRECTUM system thousands of users and volumes of the stored information work are huge, then on servers of the company several copies of service are established, and requests from users are parallelized. Also the relevance of search results increased.
  • Operation of the connector to 1C is accelerated. Loading and unloading of data from DIRECTUM are executed 2.5-3 times quicker.
  • At bulk update of the user places load of a corporate local network therefore the size of the installation program was reduced by 6 times increases. And the appeared instruments of monitoring of updating of client places allow the administrator to control process completely.

Mechanisms of work with time stamps are improved. They confirm that at a given time the EDS existed and was reliable even if later the certificate was withdrawn. For installation and check of stamps of time it is not necessary to set on jobs additional paid software, it considerably will cut down expenses on the organization of work with the EDS, noted in Directum company.

There was an opportunity to programmatically set the EDS in the CAdES-XL and CAdES-A formats which provide the legal importance of documents at long storage. Based on this mechanism the company issued the solution "Long-term Archive" intended for the centralized storage of electronic and paper documents of the company with ensuring their legal importance.

Prolongation of the FSTEC certificate of Russia

The company Directum in March, 2018 announced prolongation FSTEC Russia of the certificate of conformity to security requirements for EDMS Directum. According to the document, the Directum system of version 5 meets the requirements of federal laws for data protection from unauthorized access.

In particular, the certificate of the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control (FSTEC) certifies:

  • On classification of the regulating document of FSTEC of the Russian Federation "Protection against unauthorized access to information" Directum conforms to requirements of the fourth level of control.
  • A system can be applied to personal data protection up to 1 (highest) level inclusive. Processing ISPDN is conducted by rules which are provided for this level in the order of FSTEC of the Russian Federation, and excludes any undocumented opportunities in the software product.
  • The security of a confidential information in a system is confirmed to class 1G inclusive.

Directum 5.5

On October 13, 2017 the Directum company announced release of Directum of version 5.5. According to developers, the updated ECM system helps to build end-to-end processes between the different systems in group and provides fast transition from internal document flow to external exchange with partners. Interaction of employees becomes more convenient thanks to the updated interface desktop and the web client and also mobile applications.

Interaction of systems in the different organizations of holding

In Directum 5.5 there was a solution for interaction of the different systems in one group — Directum Cross-System Interchange (DCI), or Mechanisms of intersystem interaction. They allow to organize uniform process between several installations of the Directum system (in future versions connection and other systems is planned):

Services DCI will transform data to packets for exchange and provide their routing and the guaranteed delivery


Mechanisms of interaction are built in Workflow in each ECM system and connect them in end-to-end business process at the level of group. DCI provides synchronization of tasks, tasks, records of reference books and also documents of any format and size.

The solution provides a possibility of the organization of intersystem interaction at the level of business processes, at the same time:

  • The applied developer does not need to think of the organization of unloading of data, their transfer and loading in other system. DCI undertakes it. The developer executes adaptation of the solution under features of the company, having focused only on applied process.
  • Tools are provided to the administrator to detect malfunctions before emergence of problems in users, to reveal and quickly to remove the causes.
  • Interaction of systems is organized taking into account security requirements. At data transmission through DCI all information it is ciphered. Besides, the exchange rate between systems is commensurable with a process speed in one ECM.

From internal document flow to exchange with partners

Directum 5.5 allows to organize end-to-end process of intercorporate document flow, joining among themselves the accounting systems, EDMS and services of exchange. The uniform point of entry excludes need of work for several systems and provides completely paperless interaction:

The system of version 5.5 is optimized so that all process on internal and external document flow was continuous and convenient at each stage:

  • It is possible to create the formalized primary documents in the new module Directum "Financial Archive" from the accounting system, and in the absence of integration — to load from the XML file in the format set by the legislation.
  • Processes of internal approval are optimized and entered in the general scheme of work which assumes sending and control of return. For increase in convenience of work of employees and an exception of errors detailed instructions on accomplishment are built in tasks. Process of intercorporate exchange considers also mobile users: approval and signing of the formalized documents are available in applications Directum Jazz and Solo.
  • Process of sending any kinds of documents through service of exchange starts automatically after completion of approval if at start of a task electronic sending was specified approval.
  • Return control also became uniform for all document types, both paper, and electronic. Tasks for control form automatically together with sending and are entered in the separate managed folder. Only return of electronic documents is monitored automatically, and paper — manually.
  • Consideration of incoming documents takes less time now. The authorized employee using one button accepts them or refuses signing then the answer leaves to the partner through service of exchange. If necessary the document can be sent for internal approval previously.
  • The subsequent storage of legally significant accounting documents is performed in electronic archive from where they can be taken easily in the necessary format, for example, for submission to tax authorities in a paper or electronic form.

Thus, close integration of internal procedures of approval and electronic exchange with partners provides the continuity of processes of intercorporate document flow. Directum meets the requirements of the legislation in the field of exchange of electronic documents. Work with the following formats is supported: documents on transfer of results of works and goods, UPD and UKD.

Opportunities for work through the web client

In version 5.5 UI/UX of the web client is updated and improved, in particular:

  • often used actions are separated from minor, useful space in the conductor became more;
  • fonts for the best readability of the text are increased;
  • in the history of folders the fact of an insert or removal of the link is displayed now;
  • there was a quick access to creation, start and object search;
  • the structure and display of a context menu is optimized:

In version 5.5 work of the web client of Directum for MacOS is supported. Using the web agent users can edit documents in native applications editors and also sign them using a CIPF of Crypto Pro and certificates of GOST and RSA.

Completion of web modules under specific customers became simpler, tools for the solution of standard tasks appeared. Due to completions of the platform the most part of modifications will be automatically available to users of the desktop version during the work through a web, for example, visibility and availability of elements of a form, data filtering, work with events now. Also object models of the web client and the desktop application approached.

As a result requirements to competences of application programmers decreased, the quantity of environments in which work is conducted decreased. It simplifies modification of modules under features of the customer and as a result reduces the cost of implementation projects.

It is more than opportunities in mobile applications

Android version of the solution Directum Solo for upper managers underwent internal completions which helped to transfer both application versions to uniform code base. It allowed to increase stability and quicker to add new features. The updated Solo interface for Android became one of them.

In Solo for iOS the following functions appeared: signing by the certificates issued by Microsoft certification center and using tokens, the configured search, creation of documents from the camera or from the file and many other things. The convenience of the interface at the expense of a mark of objects by the color statuses, the user sorting of lists and a preview of any investments is also increased.

Development according to the plan of import substitution and other changes

In version 5.5 the number supported operating systems based on extended Linux: in addition to ALT Linux and Ubuntu, the web client of Directum also supports now and Astra Linux.

Besides, in the mechanism of conversion of documents to PDF and a preview from the thin client the object model of Microsoft Office is not used any more. It increases convenience of work without use of paid office suites and in operating systems based on Linux.

At the same time, in the updated Directum system stability and high-speed performance of work increased:

  • in service Workflow there was an opportunity to process the blocked documents, and the server of sessions recovers client sessions after reset or loss of communication now. It increases reliability of work;
  • after optimization of work of service of integration with the systems of exchange (Directum Interchange System Integration, DISI) at least load of the SQL server decreased by 50%;
  • stability and conversion rate of documents in PDF increased that is especially important at batch processing.

The integration connector is used to the appeal to the accounting system of 1C from Directum. In version 5.5 the connector using the universal mechanism of data exchange in the XML format is implemented. It allowed to increase the maximum volume of transmitted data from 1C in Directum several times.

Besides, the interface of the desktop client was updated. The tree of folders can be configured under itself now. And the changed design of the scheme of standard routes increases visualization of setup of business processes.

Objectives

In the next versions of Directum further development in the direction of digital transformation with involvement in electronic interaction of all employees and all categories of users is planned.

Integration with Information Leaks Detection

The companies EveryTag also Directum announced on August 17 conclusion of an agreement about technology partnership.

Integration of the ILD system (Information Leaks Detection) into the Directum ECM system became the first joint solution of the companies. In general the integrated solution of the companies allows to detect information leak sources through paper documents.

So, the solution EveryTag is responsible for identification of channels of date leak on paper carriers, and at unauthorized access to data helps to detect the malefactor easily. Thanks to the integration mechanism at each addressing the confidential document in an ECM system the unique copy which in case of leak will allow to determine date and the specific user is created.

Directum 5.4

On March 14, 2017 the Directum company announced release of version 5.4 of an ECM system.

In Directum 5.4 the scalability of a system for the large geographically distributed companies is improved, support of work in operating systems on the Linux platform, intercorporate document flow according to new requirements of the legislation is included.

In the version the built-in service of asynchronous event handling appeared, it reduces response time by actions of users. The event mechanism instead of regular requests for change of data helps to lower load of a system, to provide its fault tolerance and to increase reaction speed.

The administrator had an opportunity of determination of servers where these or those events will be processed. Use of service of event handling provides a basis at automation of end-to-end processes within the concept of the managed distributed architecture.

In Directum 5.4 the modes of work with the Microsoft SQL Server are developed. The recommended parameters of connection with the SQL server give the chance to include forced parametrization and to configure the filtered indexes that reduces load of the DBMS server of 10-15%. The effect depends on the nature of loading.

Directum is included in the unified register of domestic software. In this version of software support of work in OS based on Linux is developed - now the web client's users on operating systems of Alt Linux and Ubuntu can is transparent to edit documents from the conductor, to sign with the electronic signature.

In a desktop - and web clients it is possible to create reports and to generate documents from models using free office suites LibreOffice and Apache OpenOffice. Support of the Russian set of office applications is added MyOffice.

In the module "Integration with the Systems of Exchange" acceptance of transfer accounting documents in new formats according to requirements of the legislation is implemented:

Support of formats allows:

  • adopt the corrected acts, delivery notes, UPD and UKD;
  • instead of a set of documents to send one UPD including, for example, the invoice and the delivery note;
  • display response information on acceptance of works and receiving services in more convenient type: for example, data of the receiver are visually shown;
  • display at once two titles (the buyer and the seller) in the program for viewing the formalized documents DPAD Viewer.

In the version the cancellation of incoming documents implemented in services of exchange is supported.

Now it is simpler to accountant to prepare for submission of reports to tax authorities. The report will help to find quickly documents according to which document flow is not complete.

In Directum 5.4 the functionality of mobile applications for iOS gained development. In Directum Solo the opportunities expanding functionality and convenience of work with the application are available to heads to iOS:

  • approval of documents, signing using a CIPF of Crypto Pro and adding of templates of messages in texts of tasks;
  • issue of instructions and control of their execution;
  • start of tasks and subtasks along a standard route;
  • enciphering of the documents which are stored on the device, means of a CIPF of Crypto Pro on Gostalgoritmam.

In Directum Jazz for iOS in addition to basic actions features are added:

  • signing of documents using a CIPF of Crypto Pro;
  • start of tasks of a standard route and preserving of draft copies.

On September 23, 2016 the Directum company announced completion of testing of Directum 5.3 regarding compatibility with USB tokens and smart cards Rutoken.

In Directum 5.3 major steps to creation of the managed distributed architecture are taken. Its functionality will allow to transfer systems management to other level in that case when creation of the centralized scalable system is impossible for historical, legal and other business reasons. In this version possibilities of uniform administration of services, federated search according to several Directum systems are implemented. They provide convenience of work with the separate systems, as from the point of view of the user, and the administrator. Work with different versions of Directum, distribution of processes by legal entities or territorially remote branches is supported.

Earlier the administrator had to monitor operability of each of them separately, at the same time a part of settings was stored in the database, and a part — in configuration files. When using several Directum systems the number of services increased repeatedly that complicated administration.

Starting with version 5.3 the administrator watches work of one or several copies of a system in the interface of the center of administration of services. With its help he estimates operability of services, changes settings and localizes failures. Hints with recommendations about filling and the reference information are available to all settings.

Federated search

For end-to-end data retrieval according to all Directum systems of company/holding the mechanism — federated search is created. By means of its use it is possible to look for documents and tasks at the same time in all systems, including file storages. An output of results taking into account the user's rights. The maximum effect of use of federated search will be gained by the organizations which in the work use three and more systems (for example, unit managers of the holding companies).

On the website of search there are necessary opportunities for work with its results:

  • sorting and filtering according to systems;
  • an opportunity to share links to search results with colleagues;
  • means for further work with the found objects in the web client.

Convenience of work with the entering flow

In Directum 5.3 developers paid attention to the organization of work of heads and clerks — the users receiving tens of tasks in a system. Now, depending on specifics of the enterprise, the administrator configures division of all of the managed folders entering on flows by means of. For example, in a separate flow it is selected the approvals of documents or tasks transferred to work to other contractors and which are temporarily not requiring attention.

The centralized setup of the managed folders helps to enter uniform standards of process optimization, to extend admitted to the companies of practice of work with the entering tasks.

Transparent work with instructions

In version 5.3 all information and buttons for the main actions necessary for the contractor and the author of order, contain in a task card. For controllers the separate interface is configured, it helps to adjust, stop order, to connect additional contractors or to request intermediate results. The short report in the form of a tree which will allow to recognize the current situation by all connected instructions is available to all participants of works.

Fast transition to intercorporate document flow

In version 5.3 the integration module with the systems of exchange of electronic documents entering basic delivery of Directum gained development.

Setup of integration with services of exchange of documents is simplified: after the Directum installation it is practically possible to begin exchange of legally significant documents with external partners at once. If the document to the partner goes for the first time, a system will automatically send a request for obtaining permission to exchange. Signing of the in-house documents necessary under protocols of intercorporate exchange, became safer — signature key certificates can be stored on e-token on the user's computer.

Expansion of opportunities of the web client

In Directum 5.3 the functionality of this software is as close as possible to a desktop version, including basic modules and the module Office. In addition, in the web client there was an opportunity to make mass transactions, for example, export, conversion and signing of several documents at the same time.

It is release were a part of the system more than 130 different improvements.

2015

Directum 5.1

The DIRECTUM company announced in January, 2015 a release of the version of the DIRECTUM 5.1 system. Functionality and significant changes will allow to reduce labor input of implementation projects and hardware costs when using of a system.

Improvements of the tool of the developer accelerated writing of the code twice. According to the statistics nearly 25% of labor input on projects of automation are the share of development. Development of the tool of the developer reduces time expenditure of an implementation team of DIRECTUM 5.1 that as appropriate affects project cost.

Flexible configuration and easy development of a system by forces of customer organization – distinctive feature and advantage of the DIRECTUM platform. For convenience of development in the editor of IS-Builder hints appeared:

  • by methods and object properties;
  • according to details of reference books and documents;
  • by parameters of methods;
  • on types of variables.

At group development the new possibility of protection of elements of a program code against simultaneous change by several developers is useful.

It is much simpler to find now the non-optimal and slow code as in the debugger the possibility of profiling is implemented. Using this mechanism it is possible to estimate runtime of every line of the program.

Implementation projects of DIRECTUM cover a large number of business processes, respectively, also the number of the users who are at the same time working in a system is great. It was succeeded to increase performance due to optimization of load of SQL Server, compression of schemes of tasks and stabilization of work of service Workflow.

Decrease in load of the processor and reduction of the size of the database will allow to reduce to 30% of purchase costs of the hardware of servers.

In the version of Directum 5.1 the mechanism of import of users from the Active Directory changed. Now data from the Active Directory can be synchronized periodically. There was an opportunity to create new entries in reference books "Workers" and "Divisions" on the basis of data from the Active Directory.

In Directum 5.1 developers should not register a program code for setup of the calculated roles in standard routes. Especially for it the reference book "Rules of Calculation of Roles" is created, it is only enough to administrators to create in it new records.

Constantly integration opportunities of DIRECTUM develop. Quite recently the connector to SAP Process Integration is successfully certified. And in order that administrators without excess efforts could configure quickly data exchange between DIRECTUM and 1S, standard templates which contain ready settings for directory synchronization are developed.

Updated Office

It is still impossible to refuse paper documents, but the module Office as much as possible will help to simplify their processing. In version 5.1 of users waits for a number of improvements, and they begin with a cover – the convenient form of search of the registration and control cards (RCC) appeared. Now it is possible to find the necessary document in no time – any excess actions and additional dialog boxes.

New opportunities appeared also at SRC. It is possible to describe contents of the document in the field of a card using trite phrases now – autotexts. The mechanism is especially convenient if the company works constantly with the same document types.

Among the tasks solved by the module it is worth selecting work with instructions. Special attention, and as result, there was an opportunity to create several instructions for different contractors within one taken-out resolution was paid to it. And it is possible to issue also such instructions which require periodic execution.

All innovations are directed to minimization of actions from user side and the maximum comfort during the work with the module.

Management of performance indicators

It is impossible to make the correct management decisions without objective job evaluations of the company. It is possible to estimate quality of business processes using the module "Management of Performance Indicators". The new version will pleasantly surprise heads – the appearance of the website of a control panel for more convenient work in usual the system interface of DIRECTUM is completely processed.

Each indicator can be provided in different cuts, for example, on category or division, and to fall to the detailed values. It facilitates control of activity and reduces risks and allows to avoid financial losses.



The connector Directum 5.0 to SAP PI is certified as "Powered by SAP NetWeaver"

The connector Directum 5.0 is certified as the solution on integration with SAP Process Integration. The certificate confirms proper quality and compliance of technical characteristics of the connector to requirements of SAP. On December 12, 2014 version 3.0 of the Connector Directum to SAP Process Integration technology 7.1 received the official status "It Is Certified by SAP". Technical solution is intended for data exchange between the Directum ECM system and internationally recognized leader among the SAP ERP enterprise management systems. The connector contacts the integration SAP NetWeaver platform and allows to synchronize the reference information between the Directum and SAP ERP systems.

The center of Integration and Certification of SAP (SAP ICC) confirmed that characteristics of a packet of exchange of Directum 5.0 for integration with SAP ERP 6.0 conform to requirements of SAP. Use of the connector allows to send quickly documents from Directum to SAP, to connect objects of SAP and documents of Directum, to open cards of objects of a system of SAP from Directum.

The solutions constructed on the SAP NetWeaver platform are quicker and easier integrated with SAP applications. The improved compatibility with solutions on the SAP NetWeaver platform provides high-quality data exchange between systems. Selecting the solution certified by SAP, the consumer can cut down considerably the risks and expenses connected with investments into the IT sphere of the company.

The connector to SAP Process Integration which is based on the SAP NetWeaver platform allows to configure integration of the systems of SAP and Directum, ensuring the most convenient and transparent functioning with objects of both systems. Abilities to integrate allow to accelerate data processing at the enterprise, to eliminate duplicative processes, to increase the speed of obtaining reports.

Directum 5.2

On December 14, 2015 the Directum company announced a release of the version of the Directum 5.2 system. Processing of historical data is upgraded, applied modules, the web client and tools of applied development are finished.

Work with historical data

For speeding up at the large volume of information in Directum 5.2 documents, tasks, tasks, records of reference books which users seldom address can be carried to archive objects. By default they will not be displayed in folders of search and reference books. In addition for storage reduction in cost historical data can be transferred from SQL storage to file archive storages, including to slow disks.

Support of such scheme of work allows:

  • reduce the size of the database of SQL storage
  • show to users only necessary objects in work
  • accelerate accomplishment of search and opening of reference books
  • accelerate execution of operations on service of databases

Rules of work with historical data for different objects systems are customized proceeding from requirements of the enterprise. For example, documents which they did not address more set number of years, or tasks, the works on which are completed certain time ago, can be recognized as historical. At document retrieval, tasks and tasks it is possible to consider or not to consider historical data. Users select option of display of entries in lists of reference books. All these improvements first of all are intended to increase quality of system operation in the large companies where hundreds of users are automated and data in three years and more are saved up.

Upgrade of applied modules

In the module Office in is implemented new functionality for work with memos. The master of actions "Execution of memos" is simplified.

Execution of the memo

The standard route "Approval of the memo" is finished. The notes created in a system can easily be approved with non-automated employees — the route will include a task to the secretary to print and transfer the memo to the signature. Due to improvement of mechanisms of work with memos interaction at the subordinate head level accelerates and becomes simpler. In the module the delegation mechanism is simplified — at delegation of order it is possible to specify whether it is necessary to execute the leading order after accomplishment of the subordinate.

Possibilities of the module "Management of Meetings and Meetings" are expanded. Close integration with Microsoft Exchange allows to synchronize automatically the meetings created in Outlook. Standard routes of the module flexible therefore users can pass and interchange the position of stages of work with a meeting. It allows to automate, for example, spontaneously held meeting or to pass a stage of preparation of the protocol if in it there is no need.

The module became universal and allows to approach working meetings without excess formalism. For example, any employee can organize a meeting directly in Outlook, and then synchronize a meeting in Directum to issue and approve the protocol, to check execution of solutions and so on.

The module "Contract management" in Directum 5.2 became more convenient thanks to automatic synchronization of the contractual documents given in cards and in the corresponding records of the reference book that allows not to spend time for double entry and reverification of information. At any time it is possible to define quickly the status of the agreement — for this purpose the Status field is added to a card of record of the reference book.

Web client

  • There was an integration of the documents Microsoft Office with Directum in a web — now the autocompleted fields of documents are updated, and it is possible to insert barcodes into documents
  • Reports in the web client are improved
  • There were predetermined filters of folders of tasks and tasks in the conductor.

Directum 5.0

On February 17, 2014 the code the Directum company announced a release of the Directum 5.0 system.

The modern interface, the system of the built-in training, the improved web client, simplicity of administration - in Directum 5.0.

General idea

In this version of EDMS the structure and configuration of actions in the toolbars and context menus of all forms is processed. Graphic design, large icons, controls – the new interface became more usual for most of users. Simplicity and functionality of the modern interface will help to master a system.

Starting with version 5.0 it is possible to get without preliminary training to work in a system. The Directum system is guided by actions of the user, foresees them and starts videos with hints at the right time. The user step by step gains an impression about a system and can independently begin to work in it.


The improved web client

Mobility of jobs - needs of nature of business development. Repeating logic of work and functionality of the desktop-client, the advanced web client of Directum 5.0 corresponds to needs of users.

In the updated web client it is easier to work with documents. Usual the document opens and its editing begins. All changes automatically remain in a system - there is no need to care for it. The convenience of work considerably increased during the work with reference books. Signing by the electronic signature and enciphering of documents and tasks are available in all supported browsers now.

Possibilities of development of web modules are improved. There was a client object model of the web client which provides change facilities and managements of elements of pages of the web client and the Directum data access.

The web module Office which is completely corresponding to desktop-module opportunities is finished.

Mobile version of the web client is improved. By means of print preview the user will quickly study any document, without its loading and installation of special programs on the smartphone.

Scalability and stability

Developers paid attention to scalability of a system - it is demanded from the large companies with big staff. Support of Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and the AlwaysOn mode is implemented that allows to distribute requests between several servers, thus load of a primary server decreases.

Considerably data reception speed at replication increased. Earlier each object was processed separately, now a part of objects are processed in large quantities. Replication works at large volumes of data 3 times quicker.

Stability of work of service of interaction of a system (DICS) is increased, the functionality is finished.

In version 5.0 new opportunities of services of exchange of legally significant documents are supported, stability of service of integration with the systems of exchange (DISI) is increased.


Improvements of integration and administration

The new uniform installation program of all components is developed for simplification of installation process of the Directum system. It is enough to select components, the corresponding roles of the computer, to once enter required parameters and further it is simple to monitor the installation course.

In version 5.0 integration of Directum into Microsoft Office 2013 and the latests version of OpenOffice.org, LibreOffice gained development. In Microsoft Outlook there was a new menu item allowing to enclose the document of the Directum system in the letter without opening it.

Integration of Directum with external systems develops: the new connector to SAP is developed, possibilities of web services of integration are expanded, in Directum Integration Toolset it is possible to configure exchange with the integrated systems - not only reference books, but also documents.

2013

Web expansion for SkyDrive

On October 7, 2013 the DIRECTUM company announced release of new technical solution "Web expansion for SkyDrive".

The software module is intended for ensuring work in the DIRECTUM system through the web client. If so far by means of the web client of DIRECTUM it was impossible to bring in a system the document from the mobile devices which do not have access to the file system (for example, devices with iOS), then technical solution "Web expansion for SkyDrive" supports export of documents to SkyDrive where it is possible to work with them as means of a cloud service, afterwards importing back to DIRECTUM.

Process of creation of documents of service differs in nothing from normal creation of documents from files, only files are selected not from the file system, and from folders of a cloud service of SkyDrive. Editing and reviewing of documents does not require installation of additional software on the mobile device.

Directum 4.9.1

In February, 2013 there was a version of the DIRECTUM 4.9.1 ECM system. Within new edition of release attention is paid to scalability and administrative tools for the large companies and also to development of the module of integration with the systems of exchange of legally significant documents.

In DIRECTUM 4.9.1 continuations development which was provided within version 4.9 4 months ago got those referrals. In addition to work on the Integration module with the systems of exchange (DISI), developers of the new version improved the internal mechanisms influencing work of all categories of users. Development of the module DISI

Starting with version 4.9.1, users of the systems of exchange of legally significant documents can use the application which is built in DIRECTUM for viewing primary accounting documents DPAD Viewer which gives the chance to study contents of the document from a task card and also to browse files with the *.dpad expansion on a disk. DPAD Viewer is available both in desktop-and in the web client.

For convenience of interaction with the partner organizations having branched structure in the updated DISI support of work with divisions and branches is implemented. In addition different users can send documents through DISI now, signing documents with the certificates. The module was complemented also with new reports.

Instruments of administration and scalability

In DIRECTUM 4.9.1 there were changes in work with access rights of users. Now to users and groups the privileges defining them can be appointed it is right within all system. In particular, the rights to removal of objects, setup of a system, user administration, etc. can act as privileges. Thus, in the new version the flexibility in differentiation of powers of specific employees is significantly increased.

Thanks to serious work on increase in scalability of the platform the following tasks were also solved:

  • optimization of structure of indexes of the database;
  • optimization of stored procedures and triggers and client requests;
  • optimization of work through the web client;
  • elimination of "bottlenecks" when blocking data;
  • replication work acceleration, optimization of algorithms.

Besides, in the new version the history of work with the administrator's components is in more detail conducted now and also the possibility of restriction of sending tasks to a large number of users is implemented. These and some other innovations expanded possibilities of administration of a system.

Additional improvements

Now the users having full authority for the document can permit other users to assign the access rights. For example, users with the rights to change can appoint the rights to other users to viewing and change of the document. This opportunity helps to manage flexibly access rights in the large organizations where it is impossible to appoint access rights to the document initially accurately.

2012

Directum 4.9

The main directions of strategy Extra ECM found the reflection in the version of Directum 4.9: Extra Corporation, Extra Access, Extra User, Extra Business Task, noted in the company. Work on a product within nine months also allowed to optimize the basic mechanisms of work affecting high-speed performance and scalability of Directum.

According to developers, the new module "Integration with the Systems of Exchange of Documents" provides complex infrastructure for effective interaction of Directum with the systems of exchange of legally significant documents in electronic form (for example, Synerdocs, "Diadoc" and others).

The new module allows to approve, sign and send documents to other organizations through the systems of exchange directly from the Directum system. Also automatic acceptance of incoming documents in Directum and the organization of archive of electronic legally significant documents is provided. At the same time all rules and rules on registration and control of movement of documents electronically on all their lifecycle are followed, emphasized in the company.

Systems capabilities extended in terms of preguessing of requests of users. So, in the desktop-client there were hints to system objects which are configured by the administrator. For example, hints for users of a system allow to display the photo, a position, the phone number of the employee and other data at guidance of the cursor.

At data entry in the field Route of a task is also displayed the hint with chronologically ordered list of users, groups and standard routes which were entered earlier by the user.

Changes happened also in criteria of object searches. The feature for input in search criterions of special value "Ya" and also an opportunity to add to the reference book details of other reference books for more convenient data retrieval is added.

The mechanism of setup of access rights was complemented with the point "Favorites" where the most often used users and groups are located.

At the same time, the web client of Directum was considerably finished for increase in convenience of work of employees through a web. In the updated web client functions, earlier available only in desktop appeared: a preview of documents, hints to system objects, search in additional details and also covers for folders. Also the list of records of the reference book is considerably finished — filters on columns and grouping of records are added. Traffic of the web client is optimized, work speed is increased.

At the same time, mechanisms of services of integration Directum Integration Toolset are finished: in particular, more than by 3 times the speed of unloading of data from Directum in an external system is increased, reported in Directum.

In nine months also the list of the solutions of the company implementing the Extra Business Task direction was replenished: "Akelon: project management", "Library of functions of inducement", "Guarantor Cheboksary: IPO "Guarantor" and others. In many respects it became possible thanks to efforts of a partner network of Directum.

At the same time internal mechanisms did not remain unaddressed. The main changes were aimed at expansion of opportunities for work of the large companies with big staff. Customer services (workflow and the server of sessions) are completely processed, their reliability and speed increased during the work of a large number of users. There was a possibility of replication of texts of the documents which are in file storages and also the full-fledged work of users of secondary servers on a master server is implemented, told in the company.

Compliance to requirements in the field of data protection

Based on a research of the DIRECTUM 4.9 system on correctness of embedding of the means of cryptographic information protection (MCIP) the DIRECTUM company received the positive decision of FSB of Russia.

Developers of ECM systems are guided not only by requirements of customers in functionality. Ensuring the legal importance of documents and protection of electronic document management become the most important problems of business process automation. Especially relevant it for the organizations which perform data processing of a different confidentiality level.

Earlier the DIRECTUM company already received the certificate of the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control (FSTEC) according to which the electronic document management system of DIRECTUM 4.9 conforms to requirements of the regulating document "Protection against unauthorized access to information". Currently and FSB of Russia drew the positive conclusion about correct embedding of a CIPF of CRYPTOPRO CSP of version 3.6 in DIRECTUM 4.9.

The CIPF of CRYPTOPRO CSP belongs to auxiliary routines – cryptoproviders who are used for generation of electronic signatures, enciphering and interpretation of documents. Practice shows that the main threat for information is a person who works with it. At least, there is always a risk to make the wrong decision – for example, to give an information access to strangers.

The CIPFs special properties in DIRECTUM 4.9 answer the set regulations and are intended for data protection on classes KC1/KC2. The class of means of KC1 is intended for data protection from the external user, and KC2 – for protection against internal. Work with electronic documents in DIRECTUM is adapted for needs of the geographically distributed enterprises and departmental organizations. Application of the certified information security tools provides reliable protection to confidential data in a system.

2011

Stress testing

  • In February, 2011 in the technology center Microsoft specialists of DIRECTUM company held stress testing of the DIRECTUM ECM system. Results of testing showed that all main services DIRECTUM 4.7 are capable to maintain loading and to process requests of 10,000 at the same time working users.
  • In August-September, 2009 the DIRECTUM system passed test and successfully confirmed work under the loading rendered 5,000 at the same time working users. In the conditions of growth of the companies of clients and appearance of new big customers need of check of support by the system of simultaneous operation of 10,000 users on one server ripened. Therefore in February, 2011 DIRECTUM and Microsoft companies carried out assessment work of operability of a system in the conditions of such especially large business structures.
  • For system testing in the technology center Microsoft the stand which consisted of SQL Server database server 2008 R2, four storage systems, the server of customer services, the controller of stress testing and 11 load stations was deployed. The equipment for testing was provided by HP company within the affiliate program of Microsoft Technology Centers. For testing was the test storage of documents corresponding on volume to 2 years of work of 10,000 users is prepared (it is nearly 15 million documents, 20 million records of the reference book "Registration and Control Cards", 41 million tasks and 19 million tasks). For simulation of loading on the basis of statistical data the loading profile — the list of the test cases as close as possible to real situations and including the main user transactions taking into account the frequency of their accomplishment was made: documents were created and opened, routing of business processes was performed, tasks were performed. Tests of a system included:
    • Simulation of appeals of 10,000 users to the server of sessions for determination of capability of servers and services DIRECTUM 4.7 to service a high load.
    • Processing of tasks by service Workflow for determination of an opportunity for work of service on several processors and its performance (quantity of the processed tasks per hour).
    • Simulation of load of SQL Server DBMS 2008 R2 during the work of 10,000 users for identification of duration of accomplishment of server transactions at a high load.

Results of testing confirmed that the DIRECTUM 4.7 system on SQL Server DBMS 2008 R2 is capable to maintain loading and to process requests from 10,000 at the same time working users.

Directum 4.8

In the version of the Directum 4.8 ECM system special attention is paid to the internal mechanisms directed to increase in conveniences of the interface and also scalability of a system. The DIRECTUM system, developing within the concept "It is configured on business – is convenient in work", in the new version became even more focused on the end user. For a year of work on the version a large number of wishes of the clients who are directly working with the DIRECTUM system was considered and also the main trends of the IT industry are taken into account.

System operation on large enterprises

In the new version considerable works on development of scalability are carried out. Now DIRECTUM can work with almost unlimited amount of data, increasing the performance is proportional to increase of resources at clients. The possibility of installation of several services Workflow thanks to which tasks are set on processing is implemented and are evenly distributed between all processes of services.

Services of interaction with the independent DIRECTUM systems (DIRECTUM Intersystem Cooperation Services) gained development. Now such systems can exchange considerably the increased amounts of data.

Development of mechanisms of integration In DIRECTUM abilities to integrate were considerably expanded and the new mechanism web services of integration which allows is developed:

  • exchange data between the integrated system and DIRECTUM in conditions when it is impossible to establish connection through COM objects;
  • accelerate loading and unloading of data from the DIRECTUM system in the integrated system;
  • expand opportunities for work with subjects of the DIRECTUM system in the integrated system.

Web client

Development of the web client became the next step in development of an easy user workplace. In it the interface which became more functional, convenient and friendly for users was considerably improved. Now, using web access, employees can work with the module Office, address the general reference books, start the analytical and integrated reports. For a number of users new web access can become replacement of a usual desktop-application.

Thanks to the building tool IS-Builder in the new web client possibilities of expansion and configuring were put. Now web access can be functionally developed by partner solutions of DIRECTUM.

Hierarchies in reference books

In this version the possibility of use of hierarchical data view was published in reference books, grouping data on field values. Such opportunity allows to accelerate many times loading of reference books with millions of records and by that to increase convenience of work with them.

The building tool IS-Builder provides separate a component and the special editor for work with hierarchies.

Additional improvements of systems capabilities

In this version of DIRECTUM also the opportunities put in standard functionality gained development. For example, the convenience of work of users with the module Office was increased. In it the main reference books and routes were finished, the new reference book "Lists of Standard Archive Documents", a new standard route "Consideration of the incoming document", etc. is developed.

In total more than one hundred wishes which mentioned both system modules, and work of specialized services were considered.

The opportunities put in the new version of DIRECTUM show a reference point on satisfaction of needs of the end user and creation of comfort in its work regardless of complexity of processes in which the employee or values of the company in which it works is involved.

2010

Directum 4.7

The version of the Directum system contains on December 4.7, 2010 the technologies and tools allowing to increase efficiency of interaction and management of flows of works. Business process management mechanisms gained the development, opportunities for the organization of meetings and meetings are expanded, instruments of collective work are improved.

In DIRECTUM 4.7 new portal solutions are implemented, integration with Microsoft Outlook is expanded, mechanisms of integration into communication solutions are developed and improved. Thus, DIRECTUM allows to integrate all channels of corporate communication in a uniform information field and to simplify joint work with documents.

Designer of documents and generation of documents

This version of a system allows the user to reduce as much as possible time and efforts spent for work with standard documents. For this purpose DIRECTUM 4.7 includes the designer of documents – a set of expansions for Microsoft Office 2007 and 2010 who allows to create quickly in a system models of standard documents (agreements, statements, memos and others). Each model contains ready text fragments which can be under different conditions and contain macrovariables. On the basis of models and data of the DIRECTUM system it is possible to generate ready documents quickly.

Masters of actions

Masters of actions are one more important innovation of DIRECTUM 4.7. Masters allow to implement easily often repeating or difficult working procedures. Work with the master of actions represents consecutive accomplishment by the user of certain steps within which key parameters of the procedure and key data are specified. Thus, initiation of the standard procedure externally looks as poll that transfers interaction of the user and an ECM system to new level – communication happens in the business user's language without attraction of system terminology.

Mobile and web access

New means of remote work of users became one of the most notable changes in DIRECTUM 4.7. Work in DIRECTUM is possible using mobile devices now – communicators, smartphones and tablet computers – connected to the Internet. The interface of mobile web access is adapted to work of the majority of mobile browsers (Opera Mobile, Safari Mobile, IE Mobile) on all popular platforms, including Windows Mobile, iOS and Android.

Also the development was gained by standard web access to DIRECTUM: now there are even more objects and data of a system it is available to the users working with documents via the browser.

Improvements of the interface

This version of a system contains considerable improvements in area of the user interface. The conductor of DIRECTUM provides idle time and quick access to any objects of a system and corporate content now. For this purpose in a system there was a function of quick start, and search capabilities are expanded, the feature for a preview of documents in tasks and tasks thanks to which it is possible to examine the maintenance of an investment quickly is added.

In the folders and sections of archive containing various elements the possibility of the indication of a cover of the folder appeared. Such cover allows to create unique representation of contents of the section, to facilitate navigation and access to contents.
