Reference infrastructure of EMC VSPEX

On April 16, 2012 EMC provided reference infrastructure of EMC VSPEX – the reference architectural concept consisting of storage systems of EMS and products for backup of the next generation of EMC together with server, network technologies and technologies of virtualization from her alyansny partners to Brocade, Cisco, Citrix, Intel, Microsoft and VMware.

The first fourteen VSPEX configurations correspond to typical scripts of transition of customers for cloud computing. These scenarios will help customers to accelerate deployment of private clouds and the computer environment for end users. The option of use of 50 - 250 virtual machines with VMware vSphere 5.0 is offered to the customers implementing a private cloud, or Microsoft Windows Hyper-V, and for the computer environment for end users customers can select 50 – 2000 virtual desktops, using VMware View or Citrix XenDesktop. Reference infrastructure of VSPEX is available to the order to the partners participating in the affiliate program of EMC Velocity. For the first time partners will be able to use completely a brand and industrial design of EMC for implementation to the customers of solutions of VSPEX. In January, 2013 EMC provided the new EMC VSPEX Proven Infrastructure configurations optimized for virtualization of Microsoft SharePoint. VSPEX gives to customers an opportunity to select virtualization platforms, preferable to them, and also server and network technologies in combination with the industry-leading unified storage systems of EMC VNX and VNXe, and solutions on backup and recovery of EMC Data Domain, EMC Avamar and EMC NetWorker. VSPEX also meets unique requirements of the SharePoint environment. The simple, effective and flexible VSPEX configuration for SharePoint can be scaled from 1000 to 10 000 users and be used for creation of other solutions from the VSPEX directory. From the moment of the beginning of deliveries in April, 2012 partners of EMC in the channel sold hundreds of solutions of VSPEX which offer a wide variety of configurations, allowing to meet the most different requirements of customers. EMC provided also updates for all 14 initial VSPEX configurations thanks to what customers had an opportunity to choose from among the latest technologies at implementation of VSPEX.
