On November 26, 2020, X5 Retail Group announced the scaling of the contactless shopping system using mobile phones to all metropolitan supermarkets "Crossroads." In total, 300 Perekrestok supermarkets and 90 Pyaterochka stores were connected to the Express Scan service for November 2020, by the end of the year the number of outlets in the system can exceed 700 not only in Moscow, but also in other cities of Russia.

More than 17 thousand users of this service have already created unique X5 ID profiles. Weekly purchases with the help of Express Scan are made by more than 4,000 people, most of them are regular. The average check correlates with the same indicator of purchases in the traditional way in each retail network.

Most often, with the help of Express Scan, they buy dairy products (17%), groceries (15%), confectionery (13%), juices and water (11% each). Vegetables/fruits and bread make up 5% of the consumer basket. Express Scan is most popular in the evening rush hours (18-20 hours). It is also convenient for consumers to use the service during the lunch break - make a quick purchase in order to save time. On average, a regular user of Express Scan spends three minutes less in the store than a standard visitor (the buyer's path of the latter usually takes 8 minutes).
