The VDNKh metaverse is a copy of the exhibition from the Digital Twin of the city of Moscow, modified using the technologies of the gaming industry. Here you can spend time with friends, even if they are on the other side of the country, "said Eduard Lysenko, Minister of the Moscow Government and Head of the Information Technology Department.

The MetaVDNH project was created with the support of the Institute for Internet Development (ANO "IRI"). It is based on a 3D model of the exhibition from the digital twin of the city, supplemented by the smallest details and various scenarios of visits. Time in MetaVDNH reflects the real: visitors can meet dawn on the main square or appreciate the glare of the setting sun.

The project provides for two formats of online events: a free interactive walk through the 3D copy of the exhibition and a virtual tour with Ivan Dmitrienko. Both types of events are available by appointment with a limited number of participants.

MetaVDNH can also be downloaded to a computer for self-study at any convenient time. The pilot release of the project is available only on personal computers, which allows you to get the best user experience.

More than 80 objects and 400 exhibits are recreated in detail in the virtual copy of VDNKh. Visitors can see the smallest architectural details of pavilions and sculptures, see foliage wobbling in the wind, listen to the singing of birds. You can move around 3D space on foot or on an electric scooter, and an interactive map helps to navigate. The service is available at the link.

2022: Augmented Reality Project Launch

Startup Virinka launched a pilot project augmented reality for ENEA together with. Moscow Innovation Agency This became known on February 18, 2022.

This is a virtual exhibition, which presents 10 "come to life" objects: the exposition of the Tretyakov Gallery, the arch of the front entrance, the pavilions of Karelia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Armenia, the Palace of Public Services and the Slovo Museum Center. The augmented reality exhibition begins with the Main Entrance Arch, which opens the Central Alley.

Each exposition object has an information pole on which there is a QR code with a photograph of the exhibition pavilion. For each information column, the VDNKh team created a historical film that tells about the cultural heritage of objects, about the history of construction, architectural and decorative elements of buildings and how their facade changed through the years.

The peculiarity of the augmented reality of VDNKh is that you can immerse yourself in it without installing third-party applications. The startup SEZ "Innopolis" Virginka has developed an application that does not require downloading, so the virtual exhibition can be seen simply by pointing the camera at the image on the information pole.

The service is implemented without download using the App Clips and Instant Apps libraries. The platform is designed to self-download video and 3D models that "snap" to a marker - a photo or a real object. The marker and QR code are then applied to an arbitrary surface. When you point the camera at an object, the downloaded video or 3D model begins to play on the smartphone.

Unlike other similar platforms, the content in the augmented reality of Virginka is not limited in duration and volume, and is stored on the server for 50 years.

The idea of the project is to "revive" the objects already familiar to everyone using augmented reality tools and popularize them to increase tourist flow and increase involvement in the historical context and in park events. There are projects in Moscow that make augmented reality for tourism. Their problem is that a visitor needs to download a separate application for each object. We are building an augmented reality ecosystem with a single environment that anyone can join. We have plans to create our own metaverse, - commented Irina Kilyakova, CEO of the startup Virginka.

In addition to augmented reality, Virginka conducts analytics on the number of views and devices that view the virtual exhibition. According to the results of the pilot project, it will be possible to see which architectural object was the most popular, which devices most often viewed objects with augmented reality, how many times the visitor returned to the exposition and whether he returned at all.

We are glad that the technologies of our residents are used and useful not only in the Republic of Tatarstan, but also in Moscow and abroad. The AR and VR market in Rossii is growing in srednem by 37% per year and dostignet 7 billion rubles by 2025. Augmented reality is now used in entertainment, the automotive industry, medicine and other areas. It is noteworthy that Virginka focused on the social and educational sphere. The solution is flexible, multifaceted and has great prospects for further development. We at the Innopolis SEZ are ready to support the project, provide our resources and assist in attracting investments, "Vadim Galeev, Deputy General Director of Innopolis SEZ JSC, congratulated the team.
