History

2021

Revenue of ₽1,2 billion from data center services

In 2021, the commercial services of data centers brought Rosenergoatom 1.2 billion rubles in revenue. The concern announced this on December 28, 2021, summing up the work of its digital unit.

According to the deputy head - director for economics and finance of Rosenergoatom Sergei Migalin, in 2021 the concern earned 560 million rubles of EBITDA profit from the sale of digital products. Digital business is built around an integrated proposal for a digital nuclear power plant of Russian development and data infrastructure, he said.

In 2021, commercial services of data centers brought Rosenergoatom 1.2 billion rubles in revenue

According to the press service of Rosenergoatom, in 2021 the company entered the top ten largest operators of data centers in Russia, including thanks to transactions to acquire new sites: Xelent is one of the largest data centers in St. Petersburg at 954 racks and StoreData data centers at 160 racks in Moscow.

In 2021, IT Park, Stack Kazan, TISBI Management University and Innopolis University entered into agreements with Rosenergoatom to reserve 500 racks at the Innopolis data center in Tatarstan, the design capacity of which will be up to 2,000 server racks. By the end of 2021, design and survey work on the implementation of the project has been completed, and the commissioning of the first stage of the data center is scheduled for 2023.

By the end of 2021, more than 100 digital projects of the electric power division "" are focused on solving the problems of improving internal efficiency. Rosatom Among them are large-scale technological projects: the creation of a single platform for the processes of operation, maintenance and repair, engineering support of the station, the creation of an automated system for managing resources and production processes of the station, the development of a system for managing the timing and cost of building the station to create a single digital data exchange circuit from the general contractor to the customer and investor for NPP construction projects.[1]

Rosenergoatom began to introduce video cameras with a neural network at nuclear power plants to identify safety violations

In October 2021, Rosenergoatom announced the start of a large-scale implementation of a video analytics system at its nuclear power plants to comply with safety and industrial safety. The project is being implemented by VisorLabs. Read more here.

Creating a cloud simulator for teaching university students how to manage nuclear power plants

In April 2021, it became known about the creation of a cloud simulator for teaching students of specialized universities to manage a nuclear power plant. This is the development of the All-Russian Research Institute for the Operation of Nuclear Power Plants (JSC VNIIAES, part of Rosenergoatom). Read more here.

2020

Rosenergoatom develops digital platforms and tools for nuclear power plants

They will be included in the new product - "Operation Template." The concern intends to use it at its own nuclear power plants and offer organizations that will operate foreign nuclear power plants built according to the Russian design[2].

For Russian NPPs and plants built according to the SBI scheme abroad, Rosenergoatom has developed an "Operation Template." This is a complex of integrated digital systems with the help of which basic business processes operate - management of operation (from construction to decommissioning), repairs, personnel, interaction of the operating organization with the network operator, exchange of information with partners, consumers, etc.

SBI (build - own - operate, "build - own - operate") is a mechanism for public-private implementation of a project in which a private organization builds, owns and manages facilities or structures with a certain degree of government support. Unlike the build - own - operate - transfer (BOOT, "build - own - operate - transfer") or build - operate - transfer (BOT, "build - operate - transfer") scheme, the private structure owns the facility and should not transfer it to the state at the end of the term specified by the agreement.

The "operation template" complements the digital systems that serve the economic activities of the NPP - conclusion of contracts, purchases, cash flow - which were introduced about two years ago. Business processes are carried out in hardware and software complexes - these are the so-called digital assistants, each performs a specific task.

Digital assistants from Rosenergoatom:

  • NPP documentation and information model
  • Predictive Hardware Analytics
  • Voice control and biometrics Video analytics PPE Health monitoring
  • Smart MCDS
  • Digital fluoroscopy
  • Remote Crane Control
  • FA installation monitoring
  • Perimeter control with robots
  • Digital passports of employees
  • VR Learning Platform
  • NPP start-up simulator
  • 3D hologram and positioning
  • 3D Drawings and Knowledge Model
  • Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Platform
  • Trusted Mobile Environment

Over the past few years, Rosenergoatom has spent more than $10 million on the creation of a basic set of systems - a block of technical documentation, a block for managing operations, repairs and maintenance and a block for managing knowledge and competencies - according to Sergey Migalin, director of economics and finance of the concern.

Digital platforms responsible for operation are already operating at Russian stations: systems for assessing readiness for repairs, systems for managing equipment maintenance, managing personnel and its competencies. Separate digital assistants were introduced at the Smolensk, Balakovo, Novovoronezh, Kola NPP and in the subsidiaries of Rosenergoatom. This year, the "Operation Template" will begin to be fully implemented at all stations in Russia. It can be used on units with a reactor of any series (VVER, RBMK, KLT). In parallel, the "Operation Template" will be adapted for foreign units owned by Rosatom according to the BOO scheme. It is necessary to translate into another language and, if necessary, adjust the technical documentation and other (for example, visual) components of digital systems in accordance with local features. The deployment of the complex should increase the efficiency of the plants and reduce the unit cost of generating kilowatt-hour of electricity.

Summary of the "Operation Template"

Operation requires a large number of tasks. One of them is monitoring the physical condition of personnel using measurements of temperature, pressure and pulse. Biometric control allows you to minimize employee errors due to poor health or excitement, or even simply prevent personnel from performing operations. The facial recognition system controls access to the station site, which was defined in the terms of reference for repairs, and does not allow employees who do not have access to this or that room.

Another task is to create a digital twin of the enterprise. 3D holograms and positioning and 3D drawings help the employee to determine their location at the nuclear power plant (especially if it is the first time a specialist at the plant). On a working tablet, he sees a three-dimensional model of the station and can track his route. Augmented reality systems will help you get technical documentation for a specific node or system. If you point a tablet at the object, information about it is displayed on the screen. In the working tablet, you can quickly update data on objects after they have been manipulated (for example, measurement or repair). Storing and updating the entire array of technical documentation is also an independent task.

The repair management system is built on predictive analytics using machine learning algorithms. It gives recommendations to the personnel on decision-making during the operation of the equipment. Predictive analytics allows you to reduce the downtime during repairs without losing the operating conditions of the equipment by introducing the "repair on demand" scheme, and not just according to plan. The sensors installed on the unit record its state, and the operator in real time receives detailed information from the system calibrated on the basis of previously accumulated and current data. If necessary, the operator can adjust the operating mode or prepare the unit for repair in time.

Rosenergoatom pays special attention to personnel management, since within five years the concern must train several thousand people to work at new Russian and foreign stations. The traditional way of gaining knowledge is not suitable: the company does not have decades to transfer experience from the older generation to the younger one. We need proven digital training programs that can be scaled to any number of students: electronic courses, training using virtual reality technologies, digital simulators that simulate the equipment of an operating nuclear power plant. Digital passports will be created for employees, which will indicate their competencies, as well as information about courses and exams taken, experience, dose load, place of work, being at a particular nuclear power plant at a certain moment, etc.

Headquarters in Moscow

To deploy digital systems at foreign nuclear power plants, it is necessary to organize data transfer to Moscow: here is the actual center for decision-making, technological expertise and crisis resolution. It is necessary to build secure communication channels, organize cross-border data transfer, build data centers (data centers), adapt digital solutions to the linguistic and cultural characteristics of other countries.

In a sense, Rosenergoatom is lucky: it will deploy digital systems at foreign stations now that these technologies have become relatively massive. There is a choice of suppliers, solutions, technologies have become much cheaper than five years ago, which allows you to quickly recoup investments in digital solutions and ensures the economic efficiency of new digital systems.

Now both Russian systems (including the developments of Rosenergoatom) and foreign ones are used for the "Operation Template." In order not to depend on one supplier, the concern buys solutions from different contractors, retaining the functions of a system architect and integrator. Priority is given to technologically independent solutions that will not be affected by sanctions or the monopoly position of the supplier.

Rosenergoatom did not find Russian software for the operation of nuclear power plants. Will use SAP and IBM

Rosenergoatom is completing the development of the "Operation Template" and in 2020 will scale the product to all 11 Russian nuclear power plants. It has already been partially tested at the Smolensk and Balakovo nuclear power plants. Since 2016, Rosenergoatom has already invested about ten million dollars in the development of the "Operation Template." This was announced to TAdviser by Deputy General Director - Director for Economics and Finance of Rosenergoatom Sergey Migalin on March 18, 2020. Read more here.

Rosatom company invests 10 billion rubles in the creation of a network of data centers

Over the next 3-4 years, Rosenergoatom is going to invest at least 10 billion rubles in the project to build a distributed network of Mendeleev data centers in Russia. The project involves the creation of four data centers in the country: in Innopolis, St. Petersburg and Moscow. This was announced by Deputy General Director - Director for Economics and Finance of Rosenergoatom Sergey Migalin on March 18, 2020.

The construction of reference data centers, according to Migalin, was initially caused by the need of Rosenergoatom to place these numerous systems. Subsequently, the concern decided to focus data centers on customers, which was due to two reasons. First, Rosenergoatom assessed the benefits of using a data center located near a nuclear power plant, as well as the quality of its cloud solutions. Secondly, the concern learned about the expectations of offering data center services from its foreign customers, mainly from Turkey, Egypt, Bangladesh and Uzbekistan.

Foreign customers are interested in offering data center services from Rosenergoatom, - said Sergey Migalin. (photo - sdelanounas.ru)

The design of the Innopolis data center is already under completion. The sites for its placement have also already been identified, said Sergey Migalin.

File:Aquote1.png
"We become residents of the SEZ" Innopolis. " Over the next half of the year, Rosenergoatom expects to begin construction of a data center, "Sergei Migalin informed.
File:Aquote2.png

The concern signed a memorandum on the creation of a data center with the Innopolis SEZ and the IT Park technology park in May 2019.

In Moscow, Rosenergoatom will be engaged in the construction of a data center together with "one of the major federal companies." With which one, Sergey Migalin did not tell, adding that the concern is at the stage of transition to signing binding agreements with it.

File:Aquote1.png
The data center in Moscow will be large-scale. In other words, a hyper-data center with a capacity of about 1 thousand racks. Approximate investments in it will amount to from 5 to 9 billion rubles. In addition, Rosenergoatom will create another data center in Moscow - at Rosatom sites, slightly smaller than the first, - said Sergei Migalin.
File:Aquote2.png

The concern is also thinking about creating a data center with a capacity of 1-1.5 thousand racks in St. Petersburg or its environs.

File:Aquote1.png
It is important for Rosenergoatom to build a geographically closed cluster Moscow-Udomlya-St. Petersburg in connection with the location of a number of nuclear power plants in the north of the country, as well as the implementation of projects related to the northern sea route by the concern in the future. The data center in Innopolis is important for the concern from the point of view of being in the Volga region, - Sergei Migalin informed.
File:Aquote2.png

Rosenergoatom also plans to create its own data center in Turkey by 2023, which will be able to be used for a number of systems to support the construction and operation of the Akkuyu NPP.

In September 2019, the concern announced its intention to implement a project for a global network of data centers based on nuclear power plants. The placement of data centers on their territory is dictated by the goal of Rosenergoatom to ensure maximum security of data centers, as well as to receive economic benefits. [[3] The construction of a data center based on Russian nuclear power plants is scheduled [4] the first quarter of 2020.

As of March 19, 2020, Rosenergoatom already has a reference data center Kalininsky on the basis of the Kalinin nuclear power plant near the city of Udomlya in the Tver region. The capacity of the data center is 4.8 thousand racks. It was put into commercial operation in 2018. In September 2019, a site for the placement of modular and container data centers began work on the basis of the data center. Rosenergoatom also has a small site in Moscow with data center functions to meet its own needs.

In January 2020, Rosenergoatom, together with the international data center operator LinKey, created the Atomdata enterprise, which will serve as marketing and promotion of the concern's data center services for commercial Russian and foreign customers. Both founders own 50% of its authorized capital, the amount of which is 20 million rubles.

Atomdata, according to Sergei Migalin, will promote in foreign countries not only data center services based on nuclear power plants, but also other commercial data centers of Rosenergoatom. However, the first countries that can use the services of Atomdata, Migalin, nevertheless, sees those where the concern is deploying activities to create nuclear power plants. We are talking about Turkey, Egypt, Bangladesh and Uzbekistan.

File:Aquote1.png
Atomdata will act as a single business integrator of solutions focused on the integrated use of the geographically distributed global data center infrastructure and communication channels, cloud solutions available to both partners. The technological function of supporting and operating the data center and providing hardware capacity in the data center is carried out by the service company of Rosenergoatom - "Consist Telecom Operator," added Sergey Migalin.
File:Aquote2.png

As of March 18, 2020, Rosenergoatom, together with Linkay, has developed an Atomdata action plan. What specific actions of the company he suggests Sergey Migalin did not tell TAdviser. Participation in the Linkay enterprise, according to him, presents Rosenergoatom with the opportunity to cooperate with a marketing operator.

File:Aquote1.png
Some foreign customers do not want to buy data center services directly from the concern as a state corporation due to various restrictions imposed by their countries and other similar circumstances, "explained Sergey Migalin.

Rosenergoatom opened an online store of technical documentation: 1.1 thousand documents worth 422 million rubles

Concern "Rosenergoatom" presented a new digital service - "Electronic store of technical documentation." According to the corporation, the service will allow customers to increase the level of safe operation of nuclear power plants at all stages of the life cycle, as well as reduce the time and cost of implementing the construction of nuclear power plants - due to the lack of the need to develop their own regulatory framework.

In addition, the company is confident that the service will significantly facilitate and speed up the procedure for obtaining licenses and other permits, including from supervisory authorities.

The new digital service was created by the joint efforts of the Rosenergoatom concern, Rosatom, as well as the CROC company, which was involved in the development of the product through a corresponding tender, TAdviser was told in Rosatom. The total value of the contract with CROC, according to the fabrikant.ru, amounted to 19.6 million rubles. How much in general amounted to the cost of creating the TAdviser service was not disclosed.

The process of creating the system was launched in November 2018, it entered pilot operation in April 2019. Industrial operation of the system began in September 2019. She had her first customers in September 2019. In general, among the potential customers of the service, Rosatom sees Russian and foreign developers, operators and designers of nuclear power plants.

Among the potential customers of the Rosatom electronic store are Russian and foreign developers, operators and designers of nuclear power plants, the corporation says.

As explained in the corporation, the service is a sales support system for technical documentation. Access to it, as of December 2019, can only be obtained from a personal computer. The system provides operating organizations with the opportunity to search for regulatory and technical documentation on the operation of nuclear power plants of Russian design in a single database, as well as its order online. However, the user can purchase the documentation only if the legal entity is registered and exclusively for himself.

File:Aquote1.png
Only the company that entered into an agreement with Rosenergoatom for its purchase has the rights to the purchased documentation. If someone else uses the documentation, this is recorded by the monitoring system and the company is being investigated, "explained Ekaterina Solntseva, director of digitalization at Rosatom.
File:Aquote2.png

In addition to searching for and purchasing regulatory and technical documentation within the framework of the Rosenergoatom service, it provides interested companies with methodological and consulting assistance in its acquisition, provides services for translating ordered documentation into English, as well as transferring certified copies on paper.

As of December, more than 1.1 thousand technical documents with annotations with a total value of more than 422 million rubles were posted in the electronic store. For the convenience of foreign users, it is possible to buy documents in English. Analogues, as Ekaterina Solntseva assured TAdviser, there is no electronic store in Russia.

File:Aquote1.png
But the system will still be finalized. First, in 2020, its one and a half version will appear, then - the second. The revision will be carried out in three directions: functional - the service will provide small additional options, custom - the system will be made more convenient for use, for example, it will become available from a mobile device, content - the store's document base will be expanded, - informed TAdviser Ekaterina Solntseva.
File:Aquote2.png

Speaking about the process of creating the service, Oleg Shalnov, director of the department for managing IT projects and integration of the Rosenergoatom concern, noted that its main difficulty was to combine the transparency of information transfer from the protected circuit of Rosenergoatom into the outer circuit of the electronic store with the prevention of threats and leaks. However, this difficulty was overcome - according to the results of the work, this joint, according to Shalnov, meets all the information security requirements of Rosatom. And these requirements, as Shalnov noted, are among the highest in the world.

Cooperation with the Association of Data Center Industry Participants to improve the conditions for the implementation of the "Zyfra Economy of Russia"

Rosenergoatom Concern (part of the Electric Power Division of Rosatom State Corporation) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Association of Data Center Industry Participants. This was announced on September 20, 2019 by the President of the Association Igor Dorofeev.

The subject of the agreement is coordination of activities to improve the conditions for the implementation of the Digital Economy of Russia program, as well as the effective development of the data center market, the formation of high-quality and reliable services, and assistance to Russian service providers and data center equipment manufacturers.

File:Aquote1.png
All data centers are usually concentrated in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other large cities, but if some location arises in the regions, then a synergistic effect appears, additional businesses arise. Advanced international companies that are a traffic generator attract a large number of businesses, for example, Google, Facebook and others, are ready to experiment, invest in open IT production. And all breakthrough technologies appear in such companies. Therefore, the Rosenergoatom data center, in my opinion, as the president of the Association, is a very interesting object that can be a kind of driver in the development of the data center industry in principle. This is a very effective collaboration,

2018: IoT Platform Development, Big Data and SAP

In May 2018, the operator of nuclear power plants in Russia, the Rosenergoatom concern, in its annual report announced in which projects it was involved in the implementation of the Digital Economy program and new IT products created in the company in the field of digital transformation.

Rosenergoatom - on the way to digital transformation

As part of the digitalization of the Russian economy, there are tasks for the transition to the intelligent energy system of Russia (IESR), which provides for the synthesis of energy and information systems, a change in the structure of the energy system and the principles of its management: the consumer and distribution networks become the object of management and self-balancing.

Rosenergoatom is a direct participant in the transition to the ESR. For this, a "national platform solution" is being developed. Rosatom and Rosenergoatom, together with Russian companies, will create a single digital platform IoT Energy, the concern said in a report.

The new platform should ensure the integration and processing of information about power facilities based on the approved CIM Model (Common Information Model).

From the report of Rosenergoatom for 2017

In 2017, work was underway to create other digital products, the basis of which is information systems for supporting production processes. Among them - processes of operational operation, maintenance and repair of equipment, accounting of operation experience, management of technical documentation, collection and transfer of power unit parameters. This list also includes processes for managing the timing and cost of construction of capital construction projects and a number of others.

A separate stage of Rosenergoatom's digital transformation is a digital template of NPP operation experience.

{{quote 'Modern NPP management shall be carried out in digital format using IT solutions to support processes. The concern is faced with a task not just automate processes, but create a single system management tool NPP - full-fledged digital template (or model) of operation, which includes resource, human resources, maintenance and repair, analytics, risk and base management knowledge and which can be replicated as an integrated solution, including on Rosenergoatom's foreign projects, "the concern's annual report says.}}

Rosenergoatom plans to complete the creation of a reference template in Russia and its replication to foreign markets within 3-4 years.

Rosenergoatom also has the task of developing a digital maintenance and repair platform (maintenance and repair of equipment) at pilot facilities - Balakovskaya and Smolensk NPP - with the subsequent creation of a new digital product.

The existing NPP service management platform in the concern (maintenance and repairs, operating experience) is the basis for the development of a new product offer of the concern's services on the basis of "big data."

The annual report of Rosenergoatom notes that in 2017 an important step was taken towards digital transformation - the introduction of corporate information systems was completed: the centralized enterprise resource management system SAP ERP, the SAP HCM human resources management system, the EOSDO electronic document management system in all 16 branches of the concern. The total number of SAP ERP users at enterprises exceeded 4 thousand people.

2017

At Russian nuclear power plants in 2017, the project of replication of the SAP ERP system was completed. Sergei Migalin, deputy general director - director for economics and finance of the Rosenergoatom concern, operator of Russian nuclear power plants, spoke about this at the SAP Forum in April. More details - in a separate article:

2016

In the annual report for 2016, published at the end of May 2017, Rosenergoatom reported on the most important IT projects implemented.

Corporate Information Systems

One of the largest projects of the year for Rosenergoatom was the implementation of SAP ERP in branches and at nuclear power plants. The system was implemented a year ahead of schedule in ten branches (instead of the planned three): at Beloyarskaya, Bilibinskaya, Kalininskaya, Kola, Kursk, Smolensk, in the Directorate of the Baltic under construction, at the Kostroma NPP, Voronezh AST, ODIC. In 2017, the project was completed. Read more about him in a separate article.

Also in 2016, Rosenergoatom was implementing the SAP HCM personnel management system at the Balakovo, Novovoronezh, Rostov, Bilibinsky, Kalinin, Kursk, Kola and Smolensk NPP, Voronezh AST and in the Directorate of the Kostroma NPP under construction. In addition, an automated system for supporting the qualification of nuclear power plant personnel was introduced at 5 plants.

Implementation of SAP ERP at NPP was completed ahead of schedule

In addition, a single EDMS was put into commercial operation in 8 branches of the concern instead of the planned 5: at Balakovskaya, Rostov, Novovoronezhskaya, Kalininsky, Kola, Kursk, Beloyarskaya and Smolensk nuclear power plants. More than 13 thousand users (this is a fifth of system users in the industry) are connected to the system, which ensured the transition of branches to a single electronic document flow. In the first quarter of 2017, the system was implemented at the Bilibinsk NPP and ODIC, completing the process of its implementation in the concern.

Divisional Information Systems

In 2016, Rosenergoatom created an archive of technical documentation regulating the safe operation of NPP power units. Implementation is implemented within the framework of automated technical documentation management system (APCS). By the end of 2016, more than 3,500 employees worked in the APCS, more than 280 thousand technical documents were posted in the system.

To provide participants of NPP construction projects with reliable and timely information necessary to identify risks and make effective management decisions in the field of time and cost management, as well as to increase the efficiency of the implementation of capital facilities construction processes, an automated system for monitoring the construction of facilities and an information system for managing the project portfolio were developed and implemented.

In the Central Office and at two nuclear power plants, a prototype of a system for finding unstructured data on the operation of nuclear power plants in various sources of information using the HP Idol solution was created and tested. The system was created as part of the information system for accounting and analysis of NPP operation experience.

IT Infrastructure

In 2016, Rosenergoatom developed and approved the terms of reference for the design of a catastrophic IT infrastructure of the concern on the basis of a reference data center of federal significance at the Kalinin NPP. The project is being implemented in 2017.

The first stage of the virtual desktop system was also implemented, which made it possible to fulfill Rosatom's requirements for improving information security as soon as possible, Rosenergoatom notes.

2015

In the annual report for 2015, Rosenergoatom reported on the most important IT projects implemented. The company paid great attention to the implementation of the IT transformation program: the implementation of SAP ERP, SAP HCM, SAP SRM, a single EDMS, the implementation of divisional programs for the development of IT support for technological processes, capital construction processes, the development of distributed IT infrastructure and the creation of standard data centers at nuclear power plants.

IT infrastructure

In 2015, in terms of IT infrastructure, the company modernized and put into operation the nodes of the corporate data transmission network at eight nuclear power plants, which made it possible to increase the throughput of the main channels in the direction of nuclear power plants to 10 Mb/s. Work was also carried out on the installation and commissioning of standard data centers at the Beloyarsk, Kalinin and Kursk nuclear power plants, which was a continuation of the project that began in 2013.

The creation of standard data centers at Rosenergoatom facilities began in 2013 with the Balakovo and Smolensk NPP

In the central office of Rosenergoatom and at eight nuclear power plants, a user technical support system was introduced on the HP Service Manager platform . In addition, the central office has begun work on the implementation of a virtual desktop system.

Application systems

In 2015, in the field of applied IT systems, the functionality of the resource management system (SAP ERP) was improved and put into pilot operation in the central office, the branch for the implementation of capital projects, at the Balakovo, Leningrad, Novovoronezh and Rostov NPP. In 2016-2017, it is planned to replicate SAP ERP to all branches of the concern, according to the annual report.

The implementation of the personnel management system at the Balakovo NPP was carried out and its replication to the Novovoronezh, Rostov and Smolensk NPP began. In 2016, it is planned to replicate the system to all branches of the concern - existing nuclear power plants and Moscow branches.

The Balakovo NPP and Leningrad NPP also carried out the revision and commissioning of the information subsystem for support of qualifications in labor protection, rules of operation, repair, safety (IPPC), which is part of the concern's personnel management system, along with the basic part - the industry personnel management system IASUP.

A comprehensive system of centralized operational planning and production management in the central office and at the Balakovo, Smolensk, Kalinin NPP (pilot operation at the Rostov, Kursk NPP) was put into commercial operation. In 2016, it is planned to introduce an integrated system at four more NPPs of the concern.

The implemented functionality ensures the collection, storage, transmission, calculation of data, analytical functions and display of information on the current state of the NPP, ensures the operation with 2000-2500 technological parameters with the collection and storage of them at the NPP level, as well as the transfer of all these parameters to the Rosenergoatom Crisis Center. In addition to the possibility of data transfer from the NPP level to the level of the central apparatus, the platform will allow organizing data transfer from it to the NPP.

In addition, in 2015, a prototype of an automated maintenance and repair management system at the Smolensk NPP was developed and its implementation in the divisions of the Smolensk NPP and full-functional implementation at the Balakovo NPP are planned.

Information security

In 2015, Rosenergoatom continued to modernize the integrated information security system (IS). Development (updating) of organizational, administrative and regulatory and methodological documentation on information security was initiated and performed.

To protect the perimeter of the corporate network from cyber threats, work continued to modernize the firewall system. The central office of the concern and operating NPPs modernized the cryptographic protection system for video and conference channels.

Rosenergoatom notes that on a regular basis (weekly) they monitor, analyze and analyze information security incidents.

2014

At the end of July 2015, the operator of Russian nuclear power plants, Rosenergoatom, reported on key IT projects that were implemented at Russian nuclear power plants last year. The work was carried out in three main areas: IT infrastructure, information security and applied information systems.

In 2014, in terms of IT infrastructure, the infrastructure of the data center of the Rosenergoatom Crisis Center in Moscow was created and put into operation. The company also continued to implement a project to create standard data centers at all nuclear power plants, which started in 2013. Last year, according to the Rosenergoatom report, typical data centers were put into trial operation at the Beloyarsk and Kalinin nuclear power plants. As of mid-2015, work on putting the data center at the Kursk NPP into trial operation is also being completed .

In 2014, design and survey work was carried out, design and estimate documentation was developed for the project to create a reference data center at the Kalinin NPP. The creation of a data center, in which it is planned to gradually place up to 8 thousand racks, is estimated at 6.4 billion rubles. The start of construction is scheduled for the 2nd quarter of 2015.

In the area of information security, in addition to the development and updating of the necessary organizational, administrative and regulatory and methodological documents at Rosenergoatom, in 2014, work was completed on the certification of automated systems in protected version and certificates of compliance with information security requirements for informatization objects were obtained: the central office, the largest in Russia NPP Balakovskaya, Beloyarskaya, Kalininsky, Kola, Kursk, Leningrad, Novovoronezh, Rostov and Smolensk NPP.

The central office of Rosenergoatom and 9 operating nuclear power plants have introduced firewalls that protect the perimeter of the corporate network from cyber threats. At the existing NPPs and in the central office of the concern, work was also carried out to implement a subsystem for protecting information from unauthorized access based on SecretNet software.

In addition, checks were carried out on the implementation of measures on the information security of IT systems at the Kursk NPP, Leningrad NPP, Leningrad AES-2, Rostov NPP.

In terms of applied IT systems, one of the main projects in 2014 was the development and launch of a technical documentation management system: in the central office of Rosenergoatom, it covered the management of regulatory documentation, and at the Balakovo NPP - the management of production and technical documentation. The system provides storage and provision of operational access to more than 15 thousand technical documents of the central office and more than 75 thousand production and technical documents and notifications of the Balakovo NPP.

For 2015-2016, it is planned to develop the functionality of this system in terms of storage and management of design and detailed design documentation of NPPs under construction and other operational documentation, as well as its replication to all nuclear power plants.

Another major project in 2014 was the introduction of a comprehensive system of centralized operational planning and production management at the Balakovo, Smolensk, Kalinin NPP and in the central office of Rosenergoatom. As of mid-2015, the implementation of this system is underway at the Rostov and Kursk nuclear power plants.

The implemented functionality provides collection, storage, transfer, calculation of data, analytical functions and display of information on the current state of the NPP. The system provides operation with 2000-2500 process parameters with their collection and storage at the NPP level, as well as their transfer to the Crisis Center of Rosenergoatom, which is the main consumer of this data. For 2015-2016, it is planned to introduce an integrated system at four more NPPs of the concern.

2013

In 2013, the operator of Russian nuclear power plants, Rosenergoatom, paid special attention to projects related to increasing technological and information security, as well as the creation of an effective document management system, the company said in its annual report.

One of the most important projects, in particular, was the commissioning of a system for supporting the operation of nuclear power plants at the pilot site - the Smolensk nuclear power plant. Since November 2013, the system in experimental mode was introduced at power unit No. 3 of the Smolensk NPP, and by the end of 2014 it is planned to connect power units No. 1 and No. 2 to it. In the future, replication of this system is planned at all Russian nuclear power plants.

Operation processes of Smolensk NPP are automated on the basis of software developed by the American company Ventyx An ABB Company

The 2013 projects also mention the commissioning of a modernized node of the corporate data network at the Kola, Kalinin and Beloyarsk NPP and the introduction of the first stage of modernization of the group's firewall system complex, which protects the corporate network from various cyber threats.

In terms of the hardware component of the NPP IT infrastructure, an important project was the introduction of a disaster-resistant metro cluster and other equipment, which allows in case of failures to quickly redistribute the load between the computing power distributed across the sites of the concern's data centers. In addition, they were put into trial operation equipment complexes of typical data centers at the Balakovo and Smolensk NPP.

In 2013, the Balakovo NPP also developed and put into commercial operation a pilot project of the information subsystem for supporting qualifications in labor protection, operating rules, repair and safety.

The largest Russian nuclear power plant - Balakovskaya - became one of the two sites where the first typical data centers were launched

Within the framework of the NPP MSO-Accounting project, a regular information exchange was launched last year with participants in the process of building new units of the Rostov NPP (Rostov NPP, NIAEP, Atomtekhenergo) and Novovoronezh AES-2 (NvNPP, Atomenergoproekt, Atomtekhenergo). A prototype of an automated technical documentation management system was also developed and put into trial operation in the central office of the concern and at the Balakovo NPP.

In addition, a single data collection and summary reporting center was created the concern, as well as the procedure for automatic generation of reports on maintenance and repair, ecology and economics of nuclear power plants.

An important point in Rosenergoatom is also called the implementation in 2013 of a service approach when concluding an agreement for the provision of comprehensive information and technical services. All ICT services consumed by the concern were analyzed and digitized, calculation and process charts were formed, on the basis of which the initial value of the contract was calculated. This approach allows you not only to get a "picture" in terms of composition and cost current ICT services, but also flexibly manage the consumption of services: significantly reduce costs and improve the quality of services, the company notes.
