In March, 2017 it became known that residents of Singapore will have an opportunity to come back home from work by the flying taxi. According to New York Post with reference to the Singapore edition Business Times, the Ministry of Transport of the country conducts negotiations with several technology companies concerning carrying out test flights of pilotless taxi drones. Among them — the Russian company Hover Surf.

The UAVs externally similar to "the flying motorcycles" from the movie "Star Wars: The episode of VI is Return of the Jedi", will arrive on the client's call. It will be possible to call the flying taxi using mobile application, like what is used in popular service Uber.

The authorities of Singapore consider three possible candidates to whom transportation of passengers by air can be entrusted. One of them — the hoverbayk-quadcopter Scorpion developed by the Russian startup of Hover Surf.

It should be noted that the Hover Surf company founded by the entrepreneur Alexander Atamanov is engaged in development of aircraft for agriculture, transportation of goods, geoinvestigation and other purposes. In February, 2017 Hoversurf showed the new development — the advanced version a hoverbayka of Scorpion-3 with a possibility of both manual control, and piloting in the automatic mode. The video of test flight is published in YouTube.

In addition to the Russian development, the multikopter of Volocopter VC 200 from the German company E-Volo and the pilotless passenger EHang 184 drone manufactured in China participates in tender.
