In 2020, SberCloud, as a provider providing cloud services to Sberbank and the bank's ecosystem companies, significantly increased the share of "external customers." Among them are VimpelCom (Beeline brand), Moscow Metro, Scanex, etc. True, the bank, when asked by TAdviser, preferred not to specify the share of external customers.

In the annual report, the bank notes that Russian companies and state organizations began to switch from their own data centers to cloud solutions, as Sberbank has already done by building its own private cloud.

SberCloud takes part in TAdviser SummIT

The director of business development in the public sector of the company SberCloud Kayumov Shamil told the forum participants how to modernize production and avoid high costs by introducing modern IT and why it is more profitable for the company to work in the "cloud" than to maintain its own infrastructure.

The digitalization of the production sector in Russia by 2025 will be able to annually increase the country's GDP in the amount of 1.3 trillion rubles to 4.1 trillion rubles. According to a study by the McKinsey Global Institute, the use of digital technologies will increase enterprise productivity by 45-55%, as well as reduce the time to market by 20-50%.

According to Shamil Kayumov of SberCloud, the high degree of depreciation of fixed assets is becoming an increasing problem for enterprises and they need to modernize industrial production, while all modern methods of production management are based on IT.

Production management systems - ERP systems and MES systems - can operate from the cloud. SberCloud provides customers with cloud infrastructure and thus will provide production upgrades, while capital costs will be significantly less than if the enterprise used its IT infrastructure.

Supercomputer Christofari, which Sberbank both SberCloud unveiled Nov. 8 at the international AI Journey show, could be the nucleus for creating fully automated productions, providing a transition to so-called "deserted" technologies.

SberCloud takes part in TAdviser IT Government Day

SberCloud participated in the TAdviser IT Government Day 2019 conference, which was held on October 9, 2019 and was dedicated to the digital transformation of the state. During the conference, experts discussed the regulation of data turnover, the creation of IT solutions within the framework of the state order and the digital development of the regions.

Director of Business Development of SberCloud Kayumov Shamil took part in the section "Special procedure for creating IT solutions within the framework of the state order." It examined changes in the laws governing the system of public procurement in Russia, which are necessary for the effective spending of funds as part of the implementation of the national project "digital economy."

SberCloud is the developer Virtual Data Center of the platform-based cloud infrastructure solution VMware and offers computing power to enterprises and public sector organizations. The company has been certified by licensors FSTEC and confirms FSB that its solutions meet the highest safety requirements. Virtual DPC SberCloud ensures stable operation IT infrastructures state of organizations under peak loads, does not require capital costs and reduces cost of ownership by up to 30 IT infrastructure %.

SberCloud targets public sector

In July 2019, Sberbank's cloud provider, SberCloud, introduced a specialized cloud infrastructure solution for government information systems. It is called "Gosoblako" and, according to the developers, corresponds to the first class of security (GIS K1).

Some elements of this solution are implemented on hardware and software complexes of Russian production, according to SberCloud. To create cloud products based on Russian hardware and software systems, SberCloud earlier, in June, signed an agreement with Yadro (part of ICS Holding).

Perhaps the new cloud solution SberCloud will become part of the state unified cloud platform (GEOP), which is being created under the auspices of the Ministry of Digital Development with the participation of the Voskhod Research Institute. The new concept of this "state cloud," developed by the Ministry of Digital Development and previously sent for consideration by the government, assumes that various accredited trusted cloud service providers will be able to become service providers within the "state cloud." Read more about the new concept of the "state cloud" here.

The head of Sberbank German Gref at a shareholder meeting at the end of May said that cloud services are becoming one of the highest priority projects of the bank " (photo - ria.ru) "

SberCloud CEO Alexander Sorokoumov told TAdviser that the company is already cooperating with the Voskhod Research Institute in the format of a dialogue on various issues of building a state cloud platform.

File:Aquote1.png
But the concept of the platform, as far as we know, has not yet been approved. As soon as it is approved and the roles of all participants are determined, then we will be able to talk in more detail about the future format of cooperation, - said Sorokoumov.
File:Aquote2.png

According to the Digital Economy national project, it is planned to spend 47.6 billion rubles on the transfer of information resources to a single cloud platform by December 31, 2024, of which 6.5 billion rubles should be budget financing. The Ministry of Digital Development expects 55% of state IT systems to migrate to GEOP by 2022.

According to Alexander Sorokoumov, SberCloud will compete with other cloud service providers due to the "quality and nomenclature of its services."

SberCloud did not give examples of prices for its cloud services for the public sector. The cost of using Gosblak is an integral indicator, as well as for other types of IaaS services, says Sorokoumov. It consists of a set of client requirements and tasks, the size of its IT infrastructure, the timing of integration and other factors. Thus, in each case, the price is set individually.

Sberbank and I-Teco changed their minds to jointly create a "cloud" SberCloud

Sberbank, which planned to develop a cloud platform under the SberCloud brand on the basis of a joint venture with I-Teco, eventually decided to do it on its own on the basis of Cloud Technologies. This company is 100% owned by Sberbank through the legal entity Digital Technologies and Digital Assets.

File:Aquote1.png
At the end of 2018, Sberbank concentrated on the development of standard solutions based on the technologies of the Sberbank group, - the bank told TAdviser in March 2019.
File:Aquote2.png

Sberbank also told TAdviser that several divisions of the bank are developing the project - the Ecosystem Development Directorate (SberX) and the Infrastructure Solutions Department (SberInfra).

The SberCloud platform is curated by David Rafalovsky, Executive Vice President of Sberbank, who is responsible for implementing the group's technology strategy, including the introduction of a modern business application platform, an innovative cloud platform, an advanced data platform, and AI technologies.

Formally, Cloud Technologies was registered back in 2016, but Sberbank announced the launch of the SberCloud cloud platform, which at the time of the announcement was planned to be created jointly with I-Teco, much later - in April 2018.

Sberbank told TAdviser that under the agreement, Sberbank retained all rights to the SberCloud and SberCloud brand and trademarks.

Sberbank will develop SberCloud on the basis of its technologies "(photo - bcn-a.akamaihd.net)"

The SberCloud website says that this platform is being created "using many years of experience in the development of IT infrastructures the Sberbank group." As of March 2019, cloud services are available on the SberCloud website in two areas: virtual services DPC and a platform. Within IoT the framework of the virtual data center servers , DSS funds,, rental guest information security DBMS OS and much more are available. There is no description of the composition of the IoT platform as of March on the SberCloud website.

At the same time, back in the fall of 2018, in its press release on the signing of an agreement on cooperation between SberCloud and the Ministry of Economy and Trade of Kalmykia, Sberbank positioned SberCloud as a joint project with I-Teco. Its development is carried out by SBKlaud, a joint venture between Sberbank and Servionica (part of the I-Teco Group of Companies), the statement said about the planned cooperation in Kalmykia.

Nevertheless, Sberbank remained a financial investor in the company and retained a 21% stake in SBKlaud, on the basis of which Ai-Teko continues to develop its BusinessCloud cloud services platform. And 79% of the company is owned by Servionica.

For what reason Sberbank refused to develop SberCloud within the framework of a joint company with I-Teco and decided to provide cloud services on its own, the bank does not explain. The press service of SBKlaud told TAdviser that the project took place, and a number of areas stood out in the development of this joint technological initiative. Therefore, a decision was made on a clearer positioning, convenient for the market.

File:Aquote1.png
At this stage, SBKlaud focuses on working with the enterprise segment: private cloud services and cloud platforms for large and medium-sized businesses based on Russian certified solutions of its own design, as well as on integration projects - areas that have always been our key competence, - noted in SBKlaud.
