2024: Establishing a Company

On September 16, 2024, the Wildberries marketplace announced the launch of WB Automation, in which the online retailer will provide warehouse automation services for third-party companies. The new company will offer B2B customers solutions based on Wildberries technologies and adapted partner products. This area expands the capabilities of Wildberries to optimize logistics processes and will now be available to other businesses.

In mid-September 2024, Wildberries Automation Director Andrei Ulyanov noted that over the past two years, the company has significantly modernized its logistics centers, increasing the speed of sorting goods by more than four times. In the coming months, Wildberries plans to automate more than 20 new warehouses and update equipment at existing facilities. Thanks to the accumulated experience of automating its own warehouse space, Wildberries is now ready to share technology with other enterprises, developing a new B2B direction.

Wildberries created WB Automation to automate third-party warehouses

As of September 2024, the Wildberries warehouse infrastructure occupies more than 2 million square meters, on which more than 30 sorting systems, robots and hundreds of lifting equipment operate. The company's experience in logistics automation allows you to speed up the processes of sorting and processing goods, increasing the overall efficiency of operations. This experience and technologies of WB Automation will be adapted to the needs of third-party customers.

According to Ulyanov, Wildberries has actively invested in the development of its own logistics infrastructure for several years, and these investments have proven to be effective. As a result of internal automation, the productivity of the company's warehouses has significantly increased. Now Wildberries offers similar solutions for other businesses, providing the opportunity to use advanced automation technologies, including robots and smart sorting systems, which have been successfully tested at the company's internal facilities.[1]
