2021: UiPath bought Cloud Elements

At the end of March 2021, UiPath announced the acquisition of a platform developer used by companies to integrate their business applications with each other Cloud Elements. Financial details of the transaction are not disclosed.

The company UiPath, whose value rose to $35 billion following the results of the last round of financing, which took place in 2021, said that Cloud Elements technology will support its efforts to provide so-called API-based automation.

Cloud Elements has developed a software platform that helps companies integrate their internal applications with each other. For example, a company might want to associate its sales automation tool with a marketing analytics system to synchronize customer records between them. These uses require integration to combine the application programming interfaces of two associated workloads.

UiPath acquired Cloud Elements

The Cloud Elements platform reduces the amount of manual work required to create API integration. It includes more than 200 off-the-shelf application API integration tools from Salesforce, Microsoft, SAP SE, and others. The platform eliminates the need to create connectors from scratch, which saves time, and also allows developers to reuse integrations in several applications.

By adding Cloud Elements API integration features to your platform, UiPath will make it easier for your customers to create automation bots that use not only the application interface, but also the API. The latter approach provides benefits for the effective development of RPA projects.^[1]
