December, 2010: Dell and Compellent Technologies company signed the agreement according to which Dell will purchase Compellent. Under the terms of the agreement, Dell will redeem all ordinary shares of Compellent, having paid for each $27.75 in the form of money. Thus the transaction is estimated approximately at $960 million. It requires approval of shareholders of Compellent and after accomplishment of standard procedures should come to the end at the beginning of 2011.
Compellent has no debt obligations and is the public company, selling the products only through network of sales in 35 countries of the world. According to own data, its solutions are used by 3 thousand clients.
Compellent proposes virtual solutions for data storage, the solution for control automation by data, multilevel storages and systems with the effective selection of resources (thin provisioning) for the enterprises and data processing centers including offering services of cloud computing. Believe in Dell that acquisition will allow to expand a corporate portfolio and to propose to clients new solutions for management of the increasing volume of digital information.
