2023: Allocation of 340 million rubles for the launch of an engineering school

Moscow State University. Lomonosov received 340.4 million rubles to launch an engineering school for the development of drugs. The press service of the university told about this on December 11, 2023.

According to Andrei Zamyatnin, director of the Engineering School of Moscow State University, targeted educational programs of the engineering school will be introduced in the formats of master's degree and additional professional education. He also drew attention to the fact that when introducing new programs, the university will constantly monitor how much school graduates are in demand in production, and maintain contact with industrial partners. Based on the results of such monitoring, programs will be adjusted.

As part of the project, it is planned to create a system that generates products and technological solutions for healthcare. Among the main scientific tasks of the school is the development of drugs, medical devices, diagnostic systems and IT solutions for medicine. It is planned to form an environment for the development, testing and transfer of high-tech products to industrial partners. The project aims to bring together education, science and industry.

By the end of 2023, the following programs in the pharmaceutical industry are being developed to train research and software engineers, as well as additional vocational education:

• "production of medicinal products";
• "pharmaceutical development";
• "quality control of medicinal products";
• "validation of pharmaceutical production";
• "application of machine learning in biology";
• "application of highly informative combined analysis methods in biomedicine";
• "digital and quantum technologies in medicine and ecology," etc.

The Moscow State University adds that the result of the development of the Engineering School of Moscow State University should be a self-replicating system that generates drugs and materials in demand by society and business, technological solutions for health saving, the experience of which can be extended to other industries.^[1]
