2022: Opening of a new surgical building

In April 2022, at the city clinical oncological hospital (GKOB) No. 1 in Moscow, the oncosurgical building No. 7 was opened. According to the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, the building opened after reconstruction and overhaul, thanks to which the institution will provide world-class assistance to patients.

Today, we are opening an oncosurgical building and thereby mainly completing a major project for the reconstruction and overhaul of the City Clinical Oncological Hospital No. 1. A modern hospital has been created on the site of the old hospital, in which patients can receive a full cycle of specialized care: diagnosis, surgical and chemotherapeutic treatment, and outpatient surveillance - said Sergey Sobyanin.

He also noted that in the updated building it will be possible to carry out all types of operations that may be required for oncological diseases. The building equipped a laboratory, outpatient diagnostic and surgical centers, as well as a center for chemotherapy.

The reconstruction of the building lasted from mid-summer 2020. During this time, partial redevelopment was carried out there, windows and doors were replaced, engineering systems were put in order and the surrounding area was landscaped. The building is designed for 150 24-hour beds, as well as for a number of day beds and intensive care units. Over 2.5 thousand units of modern equipment were purchased to equip the building.

The chief doctor of GKOB No. 1 Vsevolod Galkin emphasized that the new building is the "heart of the medical institution," it is designed to treat both inpatient and outpatient patients and is equipped with modern equipment. All specialists have received the necessary training and are ready to work on new medical equipment.[1]
