OCS works at the market since 1994. Is engaged in distribution of the computer equipment, telecommunication, peripheral, network equipment, components, DWH, software, supplies, home appliances, microelectronics. Is a part of NCC. In the past the company was called "Office computer systems".
For September, 2020 OCS works in all product directions of IT market and the market of home appliances, offering about 500 lines from world vendors. The number of employees of the company - more than 2000 people.

2020
Start of the microelectronics direction
The OCS company announced on September 9, 2020 expansion of the range: the "electronic components (microelectronics)" direction is added to a product portfolio of the distributor. These products held for use in production of different electronic instruments and devices are already available to partners of OCS in all regions of the country.
Input of the procedure of the simplified online registration of partners on the B2B-portal
The OCS Distribution company announced on July 3, 2020 that it entered the procedure of the simplified online registration of new partners on the B2B portal – EasyWay. Thanks to digitalization of process of primary check of the new partner to buy the equipment from the distributor now it is possible to begin within a day from the date of the address.
Authorization of Apple in the iPhone direction
The OCS Distribution company, the project distributor in the Russian IT market, announced on May 27, 2020 that she received additional authorization from the partner, Apple companies. Within the expanded agreement OCS will deliver in dealer channel iPhone.
2019
The president Alexey Kalinin sells the share in OCS and leaves the company
On September 30, 2019 OCS reported that the president of OCS Alexey Kalinin made the decision to sell to the partners a share in the company and to leave a post of the president of the company. This decision was made at a full consent and mutual respect of the parties, noted in OCS. Read more here.

Multimedia AV business direction
In April, 2019 it was announced formation of the project direction of business of category of the difficult audiovisual equipment – Multimedia (AV).

Beginning of distribution of the medical equipment
In the middle of February, 2019 OCS Distribution announced opening of the new distribution direction - the medical equipment and an accessory. 2017
The regional network of offices OCS as of 2017 included 27 cities of Russia. The company worked about more than 8500 partners – with retail and corporate resellers, with the large companies and small local sellers.
OCS worked in all product directions of IT market and the market of home appliances, including the computer equipment, telecommunication, peripheral and network equipment, components, DWH, infrastructure software, supplies, home appliances, accessories and goods for interactive entertainments, in total about 270 lines from the leading world vendors.
Searches at offices NCC and OCS in Moscow and St. Petersburg

Reduction of a partner network on 3000 companies because of crisis
As TAdviser knew in August, 2017, for the last few years at OCS the number of partners significantly decreased. In 2014-2015, in particular, the partner network of the distributor was reduced by 3000 companies: with about 11000 to 8000.
OCS connect it with the crisis phenomena in the Russian market: because of economic difficulties in the market less companies became simple to work.
In 2015 IT market failed, and it is clear that not all companies survived in this situation. "Death" or merger of the large companies - shtuchna also were in full view of all market. Reduction of a partner network happened generally at the expense of the small organizations, and in regions reduction is more, than in the center as crisis in regions affected the market stronger, - explained TAdviser in OCS. |
At the same time, speak in OCS, in 2016 the partner network of the company grew to 8500 organizations. It is indirect sign that the situation in the market ceased to worsen.
OCS was not the only large distributor at whom against the background of crisis the partner network was strongly reduced. So, before TAdviser announced reduction of a partner network approximately on 1000 organizations at Merlion. The company also explained it with economic difficulties in the market.
There are also distributors at which for the same period the number of partners significantly did not change. Increased the number of dealer network Marvel Distribution a little: since 2014 with stated 4000 up to 4200 companies.
Similar situation and at the Treolan company which is a part of Lanit. By 2014 about 2800 companies worked with the distributor, and in 2017 the company provides data that the total number of her partners exceeds 2900 companies.
2016: OCS Distribution became the official partner of the Russian football club "Lokomotiv"
Distribution company OCS since March 1, 2016 - the official partner of football club "Lokomotiv". The partnership agreement will work before the end of a season.
2015: Searches at office OCS
In February, 2015 in office OCS in St. Petersburg there passed searches, reported the regional Фонтанка.ру portal. According to the edition, ten field investigators of Management of economic safety and anti-corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, three investigators of Regional Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs across the Central district, eight fighters of SOBR and ten employees of tax administration of St. Petersburg came to premises of the company.
According to the portal, searches were kept on all space of office of the company, including management offices. As a result of searches in Management of FTS across St. Petersburg took away tens of boxes with the withdrawn hard drives and document packages. Next day the same and in the same structure was carried out in company warehouse.
The press service of OCS did not respond to the request of TAdviser for searches. According to "Фонтанка.ру" the action had indicative character and followed the recent proposal of heads of FTS to participants of the market of home appliances to stop "doubtful practice of avoidance of taxes" and to provide fair competition and the predicted budgeting model.
2014: The distribution agreement with Extreme Networks

2013
Results of year
In general in 2013 each of segments practically saved the share in structure of business of OCS. The biggest changes – on 2% – happened in a segment the PC, servers, DWH (their share decreased by 2% in comparison with 2012) and in a segment of home appliances and electronics (its share increased by 2%).
Regional distribution of sales also in a year changed slightly. Increase in a share of regions by 1% to 40% was result of small sales growth and also the share of St. Petersburg grew by 1% due to reduction of Moscow. Now To Moscow 44% of sales volume, are the share of St. Petersburg – 16%.
On the partner OCS Distribution sales channel are distributed as follows: 45% - suppliers of business market, 33% - retail, 19% - universal resellers, 3% - sabdistribyyutor.
In comparison with 2012 the share of universal resellers – seriously grew by 6%. At the same time the share of retail decreased by 3%, the share of suppliers of business market decreased by 1%, sabdistributor – for 2%.
The product portfolio of the company grew by the end of the year and made more than 250 lines from global and domestic manufacturers and developers of the equipment and the software. The partner channel OCS also grew and consists more than of 11,000 companies buying products for the subsequent implementation to end users – to the organizations or individuals. The general staff of OCS - more than 3,000 people.
For last year the company opened three new representations in the Russian Federation – Yaroslavl, Kurgan, Cheboksary, and two in Kazakhstan – Almaty and Astana.
Opening of Competence center of IBM
In August, 2013 OCS Distribution opened Competence center of IBM.
The center was open as a result of a joint initiative of vendor and distributor which cooperation began in 2010 about the IBM STG directions (hardware). In 2011 the software of IBM was added to a product portfolio of OCS: ICS, Tivoli, WebSphere, Business Analytics, Rational, Information Management, Industry Solutions and Security Systems. In 2013 creation of Competence Center in which a crucial element is the Educational Cloud IBM Soft complex (EduCloud) became one of focuses on business development of two companies.
Complete packet of accreditations on Cisco technologies
The OCS Distribution company in 2013 announced obtaining the status of the accredited distributor of Cisco in EMEAR region in the following technology directions: Enterprise Networking, Collaboration, Data Center, Security, Small Business. This maximum number of the accreditations provided by the program for distributors of Cisco in EMEAR.
Obtaining the status Channel Supplier from Intel
The OCS Distribution company announced on January 22, 2013 that it received the status Channel Supplier from Intel corporation. It became recognition of merits of the company in development of sales of products of Intel company via the regional partner channel. This status allows OCS to provide to partners expanded support and to save the best selection of products of Intel in warehouses: both in Moscow and St. Petersburg, and in regions.
2012: Break in relations with Microsoft, Eset, Coral and Dr.Web
On July 25, 2012 it became known that Microsoft deprived of OCS of the partner status according to corporate licenses on software. In the letter the staff of OCS was reported about it by the president of the company Maxim Sorokin.
According to the results of financial year (comes to an end in Microsoft on June 30) OCS became the most fast-growing distributor (42.8% with a growth of vendor of 12.48%), affirms as the letter. The sales volume of licenses of Microsoft in OCS was $70 million, the distributor estimates the market share at 18%. Sorokin calls this result fair: "We did not sell to subdistributors, and our indicators "are not wound" due to their turnovers".
In addition to OCS distributors of Microsoft according to corporate licenses are 1CDistribution"-", Mont, Asbis, Treolan (enters into Lanit) and Merlion.
According to the head of OCS his company became only of six distributors according to licenses of Microsoft which lost the distributor status. "Microsoft pushes us to work "on the second hands" - to develop for them business, being a subdistributor", - he considers.
Such solution Sorokin calls unprecedented: "I did not see anything similar in the market in the last 25 years. I was day shocked almost, it was offensive for me for work of a huge command. And then I understood that it is fine news. And, of course, we will not be a subdistributor".
OCS sold licenses of Microsoft nearly 4 years. "All the time it was the market of dumping and the vendor with it did nothing, - Sorokin considers. - The last half a year the market in general went to a minus zone. We repeatedly discussed whether it is time to close this direction. The vendor made what ourselves did not decide to make – we throw this "suitcase without handle" which is very heavy for dragging".
"We made the decision to close also business on shrink-wrapped software products of Microsoft and SPLA (the service license giving the chance to sell software as service - a comment of CNews), - Sorokin continued. - Besides, we decided to close business with ESET, Dr.Web and Corel. We have no claims to these vendors, but the margin and on these segments steadily falls, we do not see perspectives for serious investments and we do not see the future".[1]
According to CNews Dmitry Halin, the director of the department of work with the small and medium organizations and Microsoft partners in Russia, sales volume is only one of criteria for evaluation of work of distributors.
It did not state the specific reasons of recall of the status at OCS, having told only that the job analysis of partners in the Volume Licensing Distribution program which is carried out in January, 2012 was directed to improvement of quality of work with resellers and increase in level of satisfaction of customers in a segment of SMB.
"We still see the potential of cooperation with OCS company in such directions of business as work with a retail segment (FPP Distribution) and a hosting (SPLA Distribution) within the existing contracts", - Halin added.
As told CNews on the condition of anonymity the top manager of the IT company, well familiar with work of distributors, Microsoft purges the sales channel with frequency about 3 years. "It occurs since Olga Dergunova and is defined by the global three-year plan of the company, - he says. - Such measures the vendor fights against pricing wars of distributors and consequently it increases revenue, plus increases controllability of partners - easier to control work of smaller number of distributors".
OCS as the interlocutor of CNews speaks, was included in number of distributors a few years ago with the purpose to provide sales in regions, began to dump, but as a result could not achieve the result expected Microsoft. However, responsibility for pricing wars lies on all partners, and not just on OCS, he makes a reservation.
Svetlana Shkanakina told CNews that after termination of work with the listed vendors in total in OCS dozens of employees will be released. They will pass to sales of infrastructure software of IBM and Oracle.
2011: Growth by 49%
Turnover of OCS in 2011 grew by 49.6% in comparison with 2010. The equipment was bought by 9100 dealers from 620 cities and localities that exceeds an indicator of last year for 12%.
Annual average growth of sales volume for the last 5 years was 35% that is significantly higher than growth rates of the Russian market of information technologies (16-18% according to IDC).
2010: Growth by 63%
Year is recognized by the company one of the most successful in its stories: turnover of the company grew by 63% by 2009 and for 27% by 2008. At the same time regional branches recovered from crisis quicker, than the center: their growth was 73% by 2009 and 35% by 2008. Growth of the Central office integrating Moscow and St. Petersburg was 57% by 2009 and 21% by 2008. At the same time 41% of all sales, a share of St. Petersburg – 15%, and a total share of all regions – 44% fell on Moscow.
In a year the number of the partners working with OCS – significantly increased by 22%, and their total quantity reached 8100 companies, it is the most significant growth for the last five years. At the same time the structure of channel underwent changes. In 2010 the maximum dynamics was shown by sales in retail a segment, growth was more than 90% and affected both federal networks of consumer electronics, and IT retail and a segment of Online stores. The Segment of players of business market grew at the level of an average on the company. The segment of subdistribution and universal resellers had the worst dynamics.
In the report of the company it is noted that dynamics of growth strongly differed in different product segments. So, the greatest activity was observed in a segment of mobile solutions – business in this direction grew in OCS almost twice. Growth of turnovers in a segment of SCS was a little more than 30% in OCS, indicators of 2008 are not reached yet. In general, the structure of turnover in the different directions in 2010 looked as follows: 39% are mobile solutions and components, monitors; 23% - the periphery, supplies and accessories; 16% are servers, storage systems and the PC; 14% are networks and telecommunications; 5% - the software; 2% are services.
The partner base OCS in 2010 made more than 6,500 companies of Russia. A product portfolio - more than 70 lines from the leading vendors.
